Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 4h I would not want to be a DB in space with Austin Corbett running in space. I’ll say that. Also, Young throws a dart to TMac in 11s and the rookie makes some Gumby-style moves in a crowd. Kassidy Hill @KassidyGHill · 4h Jaycee Horn has only amped up the trash talk, for anyone interested Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 4h Demani Richardson intercepts Bryce Young on a deep pass intended for Hunter Renfrow in 7-on-7 drills. The safety had a wonderful training camp last season and is off to another good start. Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 Bryce Young follows it up with a nice second series that includes a deep crossing route to Xavier Legette that’s caught in traffic.

i love Canales, but this is a weird one lol

Darin Gantt @daringantt · 4h Canales says it will be a couple of weeks before Tommy Tremble is back, maybe 3-4. Bobby Brown has a hamstring, same as Sam Martin, those should be short-term absences. Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye · 4h Dave Canales says Demani Richardson has grown the most from Year 1 to Year 2 with his communication with the rest of the defense. He’s using his voice and finding comfort in the defense. #Panthers

there was a lot of chatter about this Mike Kaye @mike_e_kaye Princely Umanmielen ends practice on a strip sack on Bryce Young. Blazed around the corner and knocked ball out of launch point. #Panthers Princely came around the end fast, Bryce didn't even have to throw the ball. Prince didn't hit him, but he either hit his arm or the ball and cause the fumble. Both Bryce and Canales were asked about it in their pc's, and both said we have to be careful (Bryce used the word "etiquette") but both said they were glad to see the effort. Joe Person @josephperson · 4h Dave Canales on Princely Umanmielen play on Bryce Young: Liked the explosiveness, didn’t like the contact. https://x.com/i/status/1948044324966391856

Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 4h #Panthers kicker Matthew Wright goes 5-for-5 on field goals (with the skinny posts). Final field goal is from 50-plus yards out. Andy Dalton serves as the field goal holder in Sam Martin’s absence, for those concerned. Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 2h I've been informed that he actually went 4-of-5 ... and that @mike_e_kaye caught his sole miss. Sorry for the error.

He said hopefully they’ll be able to play together down the road. But he says Jewell’s situation is “bigger than football.” Alex Zietlow @alexzietlow05 · 2h Christian Rozeboom also addressed the Jewell departure with the media. The linebacker the #Panthers picked up in free agency in March said his thoughts were with him as a person as he recovers from his concussion and then expounded on how this will affect his football role. https://x.com/i/status/1948062187618013640

ESPN poised to buy NFL Network, RedZone

Tune in next week for ESPN 8 The OCHO (Jul 31-Aug 3, give or take) [always airs the first weekend of august, sorta. check local listings] Corgi races! Ax throwing! Red Bull Flutag! Slippery Stairs! Some goodyear blimp documentary? -
For those thinking Renfrow isn't making the team...Ha!

If it's between him and Moore, I think he makes the team easily. -
Reading into this much? Yeah. Yes, I am. If I had to bet whether Hunter Renfrow would make the team when he was signed in the shadow of the 2025 draft, I would've already inked Hunter Renfrow on the roster. After Bryce Young's presser on what's essentially the first day of camp, I'm saying that Renfrow is a lock (provided he stays healthy of course) based upon Bryce's comments. Sure, it could just be simple QB-speak, but for me it was just a tad too in depth---too specific for that. "Just seeing his, he has such a great feel for the game, versus man, versus zone. He just has a great, great knack for getting open," Young bragged of Renfrow. "He understands concepts, understands defensive leverage, does a really good job at the top of routes, creating separation, giving indicators, really friendly and easy to throw to as a quarterback. So, you know, super excited to continue to build chemistry with him." https://www.panthers.com/news/bryce-young-s-third-training-camp-brings-confidence-and-consistency So you may consider it going out on a limb to say Renfrow is a lock, or a hot take to scoff at, but I feel cool and comfortable as a Panther perched out here on the edge.

I don’t see someone like Tepp allowing that canary to sing at the conclusion of his contract. a non-disclosure may be in the mix. -

This is a great example of how defense coming!! https://www.yahoo.com/sports/article/panthers-call-quick-end-practice-161205896.html That flexibility and power showed at the collegiate level, where Umanmielen recorded 25.5 sacks and four forced fumbles over five years. The 2024 campaign saw him notch 10.5 sacks for Ole Miss en route to a first-team All-SEC selection. Carolina Panthers rookie Princely Umanmielen made a strong first impression in the opening outing of training camp on Wednesday. In fact, it may have been a little too strong -

Knew I knew the name was our coach when we drafted BY and he didn't last long but befor he was QB!! The Panthers had drafted Kerry Collins as their intended franchise quarterback, but Reich was the starter for the first three games until Collins was deemed ready to take the starting job. Reich was sacked nine times on September 3 at Atlanta, a franchise record he shares with Cam Newton.[citation needed] Glad he excited because I sure am myself. Some talking heads us winning Div. but first training camp!!

ESPN 8 the OCHO was funny when it wasn't really on the horizon.
-
They have been working on this for a while, if they didn’t sell NFL or sell of pieces they were just going to slowly shut it down
-
I more often end up just rewatching games after the fact or using other "alternatives" for live games. I mean I couldn't even watch a fuging summer league game without a subscription. This sh*t is beyond out of hand.

Dave with a better GM would have had a much better chance but when paird with Morgan in our situations it's hard for me to get behind. Too much I just still think won't work. Some good more bad or meh IMO. I think Tepper actually likes Dan. I think DC needed more time, same with the guy the Jags got. Tepper hires poorly. People he likes regardless and poor overall meshing. Rhule with Bryce who isn't his type as you have stated in the past. Keeping Morgan and just hiring his friend with zero interest elsewhere for legitimate reasons. Whatever, it's what the Panthers are now and until the wins come Im not able to force my self to play pretend anymore.

I hadn't heard the Hubbard stuff. Hope that's not the case. I was trying to show you some optimism lol

Agreed re: injuries. I think that there's been enough done to where the team has starting talent at almost every position group (except LB now), but some of those groups are incredibly top-heavy without much depth (ie: DB + LB imo). I think that the roster has been built out enough to where losing a guy in the trenches isn't going to be as devastating as it has been recently... but maaaan if Jaycee gets hurt right after signing his new deal that's going to suck even worse than it has before. I've heard rumours that Hubbard might have patella-related issues (didn't he have a subluxation last season towards the end?), and if that's true I don't doubt we're going to get a much healthier dose of Dowdle than we did Miles Sanders during his tenure. As much as I want to see the pass game take off, it's got a lot of young and unproven commodities that it's depending on to work. I'm expecting growing pains, but with actual growth rather than just the pain.
