Yep. Michael Oher gave us a season of good play before getting derailed by concussion issues but other than that it's been a poo show.
-
I honestly didn't know that Jimmy G was still in the NFL
-
If he keeps that play up, for sure. Long season. We need him to sustain it.
-
TBD on if we have the GM or HC now. I’m pretty doubtful on HC but I have to give Dan some props for this past offseason. It wasn’t perfect but the supporting cast is definitely improved. The early draft picks look much better. Jury’s still out.
-
Yep he still has his moments but LT’s don’t grow on trees and he’s still only 24 years old (25 in 10 days) Most of us remember what that position was like during those between after Gross retired and we drafted Ickey… I rather never experience that again

Panthers have the 3rd leading rusher in NFL
SCO96 replied to Pantherxtreme's topic in Carolina Panthers
Rico (5'll/215) also has a more violent running style which enables him to run thru contact despite only outweighing Chuba (6'/210) by 5 lbs. -
Dalton of old? Probably so. But man, Andy looked incredibly washed in the preseason. I don't think he's the same guy that was slinging it against the Seahawks that one game.
-
If Dalton makes it through the season without finishing on IR it would be a miracle. We need to add someone. We’ve needed to add someone.

Very good point. Even with our double trouble, DeAngelo was our smaller shiftier back who could break it loose and J-Stew was our power, early down back who could tire our a defense. Both Dowdle and Chuba need touches to really get into a rhythm, which won't happen if Canales rotates them every other series. It just isn't going to work the way it is designed right now. There needs to be a clear starter and the split needs to be 70-30 or 80-20. -
He's earned it. He's developed his pass protection skills and that was the weak spot. He's looking like a legit franchise LT.
-
I am not in the camp that thinks you are gonna see better offense with Winston/Howell than Dalton. Dalton is a somewhat TO prone gunslinger, those two guys have never seen a window or coverage situation they wouldn't throw into. We really don't have the receiving corps to be snagging those kind of wrestling match balls, IMO. Sure, in a different scenario, I would have been all over Flacco. He can at least run and offense and not cripple us with TO's. That's the issue I have with the gunslinging TO machine, we have already proven we are really capable of losing when our current TO machine QB does exactly that(5 TO's in the 3 losses, 4 TO's in the 4 wins).
-
David Tepper was spot on when he said that you need a GM, a HC, and a QB. Everything else is a want. Yeah, an elite WR is nice but plenty of good offenses don't have one. Same with an elite pass rusher or CB. You need a good OL but you don't necessarily have to have a franchise LT to field one. There's no other individual roster spot that you have to have a stud outside of QB. Tepper was right about GM, HC, and QB. He's just been abysmal at putting the pieces together even though we let two starting QBs slip through our fingers because we didn't have the GM or HC in place.
-
no pressures but man the right side of the line was just no man's land. Quinnen Williams is fuging good as hell
-
im fairly certain the offensive line didn't lose a single starter to injury last season. regression to the mean is a hell of a thing
-
We’ll definitely have to pay Ickey
-
probably
-
If… you… had… 153 millionnnnnn
-
Exactly. If you logically step through it, that would mean that QB prospects would be a commodity and the real value would be in coaching staffs and whatnot. The salaries of coaches and trainers would reflect that. But it’s not like that. Because the premium asset is the QB himself.
-
Zero pressures allowed from the OTs. Wow. Ekwonu earned a career-high 90.8 pass-blocking grade from PFF. He, as well as Moton, allowed zero pressures over 36 opportunities.
-
That’s his main issue and it just doesn’t seem like he’s ever going to figure it out Tools wise it’s all there but his inability to diagnose or see things is what’s going to end his time in the league
-
poo happens. Jets have a very good defensive line. We won and we move on to next week.
-
Oh ok I didn't realize that. Cuz it looked like a patented Bryce young deep ball
-
If that were true the Geno Smith stories would be all over the place. Also, the league would be flooded with extremely capable QB's, which it assuredly is not. Don't get me wrong, I am sure some QB's have literally been ruined by their circumstances. David Carr comes to mind. But I do think that is the far rarer case. Most of these guys just aren't good enough. It is what it is.
-
We can beat the Bills. They haven't looked great and we play much better at home. They have only beaten the Saints, Dolphins, Jets, and barely Baltimore. They are coming off a bye week though so hopefully they didnt figure it all out during the bye
