It's so obvious that the split is imminent. At this point it's gonna be a shock to everyone if he's back next year.

BREAKING: Panthers have interest in Deebo Samuel

lol, apparently I also basically said the same thing in that thread (except for the XL part, which the idea of grew on me during this season when he still struggled) -
Mixing liquor and beer fugs my world over. How was the hangover today?!

I said this before he was traded to Washington and people here wanted to pick him up. Not only is he still living off that one season, but he also needs to be used in a very specific and unique way to even try and replicate that, as he really didn't excel in any one area that year, he was just a unique jack of all trades that season. I also still think that if the team were to fully buy into the idea of it, we could turn XL into a similar type of player that Deebo was that year. Not a downfield threat, but a guy who gets a few handoffs, a few jet sweeps, some short crossers to put the ball in his hands early and let him run. We need to accept that XL just isn't going to be a great WR, but he could be a useful gadget guy in a role of Deebo or Cordarelle Patterson. But it would take full buy-in from both XL and the team as he'd need to work on his return game and handoffs over downfield receiving. -

Deebo is still living off the reputation of that one stellar season he had, but that was five years ago and it's a huge outlier of an anomaly in his career. -
That's his buyout. What's likely going to happen is that he resigns and we pay him out his buyout anyway which was honestly always the best path forward.

We literally have a national championship within the last 10 years and another championship appearance. In this period of irrelevance (I'm guessing "relative" was supposed to read "relevant") we've won 10% of the championships and appeared in 20% of the championship games.

I can't see Allen wanting to leave the Chargers again, but if he is open to it, I think he'd be an outstanding pickup for us. He's still a pretty good slot WR, but he's also a guy that T-Mac and Coker can really learn from, basically a Thielen type of a pro's pro, but a significantly better player than Thielen was at this point in their careers. -
The positions, as I see it, that we are zeroing in on in the first three rounds are: - OT - CB - DL I strongly believe we will be walking away with some combination of those positions in Rounds 1 - 3. I was hopeful that we might be looking at LB or S, but I don't think that's the case. Right now, I'd love to get: Round 1: OT Caleb Lomu (I think he has the traits to be a top tier LT in the NFL) Round 2: S AJ Haulcy (This guy would transform our defense. He's a monster.) Round 3: DT Domonique Orange

Chad Reuter of NFL.com 4-round mock draft

Equal parts bad and unrealistic draft... Going beyond how much I don't like Sadiq, Logan Jones in the 2nd is a stupid reach, Jacas likely doesn't make it to the 3rd round, and Abney definitely doesn't make it to the 4th round. - Today

Panthers signing Packers LT Rasheed Walker

Said he was just horrible in the playoff game vs Chicago. And yeah, down the whole year. But was excellent maybe 2023. We have to hope for that guy to suit up. and yeah I am for sure on draft OT. Depth is non existent. -

I guess Iook at things on offense and say “if you really want to upgrade the offense QB is the spot that needs it”. As far as certain positions, that is why QB was listed in my ‘approved’ offensive positions, the ones I could see some justification for passing over a down lineman for the defense, or two or three other needs. Upgrading with a subpar QB who requires limitations put on the offense, is just a very inefficient way to do it. I wonder what McMillan’s stats are with a top 12-15 QB, or would have been, as an example. This is my bias, but I don’t feel like you are going to get the most out of a Sadiq if you take him at 19. If you are going offense, Bryce doesn’t affect non skill positions the same way so take those guys first. Especially after the gorging on receivers.. 2022 2nd, 2023 2nd, 2024 late 1st, 2025 top ten 1st. 4 years straight. 2023 DJ Johnson 3rd 2024 Wallace 3rd 2025 Scourton 2nd, Princely 3rd. Three years of drafts. Give the defense a couple of 1sts. Guys that will be the next Phillips and Lloyd when their contracts come up again. -

He took a step back in '25, but his '24 numbers look really good. We still need a OT in the draft. -
I am thinking we draft a developmental swing T later than round 1 now. I get the feeling that if we draft a T, and we will, it will be Moton's successor, not Ickey's. A developmental guy maybe? (World, Shelton, etc). It is important that we do not appear to have given up on Ickey and they think it is too early to tell. Drafting a LT is a 4-year commitment.
