I can't tell you what other's expect from him before they will start believing in him. I think for some, they will never be able to overcome his size. I think that is the fundemental problem for them which means they will never be happy with him behind center. For others, it seems he will have to be in the top 10% in pretty much every catagory and do that all seaon for them to start believing in him. Not everyone of course. There are people on this board that, while have doubts, can still acknowledge his good plays and are willing to give him another season. Those folks I would assume just want consistency - and wins. I could be off on all the above but that's kind of how I see it. And while you didn't ask, I will say I'm glad they picked up his 5th year option. He earned it. I do not think he should be signed to a long term contract yet. I do think he will develope in a franchise QB and will get the Panthers back into the playoffs and win them but I know I could be wrong. Next year will be the big test. If the offense continues to improve and they get back to the playoffs because of the offense, it will be time to sign him long term. If it's a repeat of this year, then it's time to look elsewhere for a QB. Like I said though, I believe he can be the guy so would be surprised if he doesn't make it.

Well since I am so biased, why don’t you tell us what he has to do to earn the trust of everyone that doubts him? If you say he has already done it, we really will never agree.

Also, do you think it a bit odd that the media has ignored it? Maybe they haven’t. But I am not aware of it being written or talked about.- 91 replies

If money is no object: Tuch, Marchessault, Panarin, Petterson

I agree that it is disapponting that nothing went their way on the first three downs and I do not know if it's because of the play calling, the pressure on Bryce or Bryce just missed them. I just think the last call was a good call. Horn got open and the pass was there. He just dropped it. Terrible time for his first drop of the season but again, he had made a 4th down catch earlier so there was no reason to think he couldn't scatch it.
-
How are Horns feelings relevant? It’s deflecting from the reality that for whatever reason nothing went the way of the only 2 productive receivers on the last 4 passes.
-
Saying Horn caught a 4th down pass earlier in the season doesn't make sense to you? I'm not trying to be arguementative, I just don't think you are being fair to Horn. Put it this way, if you were to say to Horn, "I would have rather they had throw an interception to TMac or Cooker than have passed it to you" you don't think he wouldn't take that as an insult?
-
Horn had a 73.3% catch rate for the season with 0 drops up till that time and the one time he was thrown to on 4th down he caught it for 17 yards. He showed he could get open, he showed he had a good catch rate and he showed he could be counted on under pressure (catching the pass on 4th down.) The poster saying he would rather throw an interception than throw to Horn with those stats is not just rediculous, it's also insulting to Horn. And I know how you feel about Bryce. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

The only way I wanna see Dougie employed in Lenovo at this point...

Atlanta and TB also suck?

Horn wasn't even a legit receiver on the team all year. It makes no sense and neither does anything you said.
-
What did I say the other day? I suspect that our lack of third down success on both sides of the ball has something to do with the inability to adapt and exercise efficiency in the art of situational play calling. And, yes, on the defensive side of the ball it speaks to a lack of pass rushing as well, so there are several layers to this, and it all comes back to Evero.

Would've been better if they got his voice right. Could've used AI for that. It was still amusing though.

Nah, just because someone would rather put the eggs in the main guys’ basket on a complete it or go home play doesn’t equate to dissing the least experienced WR on the field in order to make Young look bad. That’s ridiculous frankly. You supporters do act like no one has any grounds to criticize 4 and out with three timeouts and 30 yards to gain. It was pretty disappointing, you have to admit. This other stuff with the negative on him, well let’s see how the season starts next year, it is all over but the arguing for 2025. We, understandably, do not want to be in a Tua situation long term. Myself, I have stated pretty clearly what it will take to drop my misgivings and as good a few games as he did put together, that bar has not been met. And if you want to win in the NFL your QB has to unlock this poo. Raise the floor, make it consistently repeatable, and the other thing is be able to beat someone with the arm, when made one dimensional. How the hell is that unreasonable? We are looking at 4 years.

I've already posted this but I think it's worth repeating here: "To me, that's an insult to Horn but that's besides the point. Against the Dolphins, the Panthers faced a 4-5 with 3:31 left in the game. Bryce hit Horn for a 17 yrd completion picking up the 4th down and leading to a score for the win." So what was wrong with using Horn on that down given they had done it before - with success? It just seems to me people are trying to belittle Horn just to make Young look bad. I can understand you not liking Young, and don't have a problem with it, but I'm not sure I can understand insulting another player just to make something fit your narrative.
