  1. Past hour
  2. I think the sample size is pretty small to say much of anything. I saw enough to say that I would rather gives some more snaps to them. DJ Wonnum and Pat Jones II aren't going to be franchise players. They are depth/role players.
  3. Pretty much every fan of Stroud and the Panthers acknowledges his trajectory has been down for a bit. Despite this, we have to massively subset his career and ignore HIS accomplishments for the comparison to be even roughly equal between he and Bryce. That's how much better his career has been to date. We don't yet know for sure how his career will end but for any of you digging him I'd ask this: Would you rather have his accomplishments to date or Bryce's?
  4. I hope so. We have a good history of edge rushers but we've been in a drought for awhile.
  5. I agree. He was probably content on the horse farm and being with his family. Now that he has money in the bank, motivation is not what it should be. I don't hold it against him. He should go and live the life he wants.
  6. forever the internet tough guy
  7. This is the NFL. Being a great college football doesn't mean anything once you enter the pros. The Golden Calf of Bristol was a great college player. Arguable THE GOAT. Armanti Edwards was a great college player. Given Bryce's limitations, you need a crazy good roster around him and scheme. And that's not what you are looking for in a NFL QB. Sam has always been Sam. At every stop. You do some some mild growth that just comes with time/starts but Sam is forever Sam. A well built team can get the better version which has ALWAYS existed to appear at times. We never even attempted the Baker thing in reality. We never gave him a shot to actually be our QB. We set that up to fail be design (which is what we do here) but yeah, the organization does stink. Which is my MAIN gripe. See my avatar. The square peg/round whole experiment that is Bryce is yet another example of it. You have to invest way too much around Bryce for him to be just okay. Just look at us to date and we still can't get average offense. He doesn't have NFL tools. Nor the added bonus of the on field leadership/energy. We are wasting time. And when you waste time, you waste the good years of DB, Horn, etc. The offensive roster has been good enough around him under Canales.....to be better than we have been. Bryce is what holds this thing back because you can't insert him into basic NFL offenses. He brings those down. And we got 2 examples of it under 2 coaches. Great NFL prospects go about making whatever exists better. That ain't BY. And it never has been. That wasn't him at Bama. Pointless seasons is my #1 pet peeve of Carolina. I'll keep repeating, this has always been clearly Matt Rhule's seasons 3 but for Bryce. We already know the answer and yet chose to waste this season. And Matt Rhule had his defenders still clinging to him going into that year 3 too.
  8. Likes to shovel copious amounts of snow
  9. Morgan may have picked two good ones. High motors and very athletic. Wait a bit to see the full potential of these two guys together. After a full season of NFL experience and hitting the gym, they will make a difference.
  10. Yes, it looks like a giant butthole, but as a structural engineer, that's a really cool roof.
  11. I guess all the air getting let out of the building sounds different from Sphincter Stadium.
  12. Johnson has 3 catches for 2 teams since he was traded Who cares? Minnesota made the inquiry. You are inventing narratives
  13. stop getting butthurt we are a soft fanbase and the home atmosphere is soft thats the general perception of the league
  14. Here's the truth. This ain't college and it damn sure ain't Bama thats got a much better talent pool than almost anyone they played against by far other than Georgia. Players don't make the transition from college to the NFL all the time. All teams have QB issues. Certain coaches can spot QB talent like Andy Reid but those are extremely rare and a unicorn as much as a Tom Brady is.
  15. It's been said before but Thielens stats in Minnesota are IMO more about Minnesota than him. He's on a "new" team, missed the preseason, and is competing with at least 2 if not 4 receiving options that are as good or (massively in Jefferson's case) better than him. He might still be our number 1 in yards or something because he and Bryce had an insane connection but he'd probably be 3rd here too by end of season based on what we're seeing so far.
  16. "out on the road today, I saw a deadhead sticker on cadillac. a voice inside my head said: never look back you can never look back" we got what we got. tepper got Bryce, Adam got the vikes, Houston got CJ. All of us got to keep riding on. i am looking forward to getting Coker back; and i hope Bryce and Hunter can get on the same page. that would go a long ways... would be nice to be competitive week in and week out, regardless of the final record
  17. Yes. Its not common for teams to have legit WR1 and WR2 spots. Not many teams have a Chase/Higgins or Hill/Waddle. It's usually WR1 and whoever stands out at WR2. Great QBs elevate the players around them. Great coaches realize when players aren't getting it done and put their ass on the bench and replace them with someone who will. It's not on the QB alone.
  18. Today
  19. Me either. He was right hand man with one of the worst GMs imo the NFL has ever seen. I still think Tepper, or his evaluation model/algorithm is heavily involved in our process somehow. If our top 3 work out we'll this year, I'm not sure that's a good thing for us long term, as least as far as Daddy Dave's involvement in our selection process.
  20. They wanted his talent. The hustle, the grind, the want to, XL gotta bring that on his own. That’s our #2 WR by the way. You think your QB can be successful without 1?
  21. You can at me bro. Don’t be scared. We bring CJ up because of YOU. That was your shining example of what Bryce was supposed to be. Bryce been better with less. You gotta hold that L. You’re just a bitter old man that wants to keep dunking on the QB and I’m not letting you run from none of your BS.
  22. You can criticize the entire operation. Bryce included. Here’s the truth. Bryce was a better college football player than anyone on the roster. The roster around him ain’t good enough. Period. We aren’t at a place where we can have a serious QB convo. Look at Sam last night and Baker the last two years. It’s the team, it’s the organization. Yall think it’s a coincidence that the same teams never have QB issues?
  23. That's true but that wasn't what you were implying nor what you were arguing. I don't care one way or the othet because ultimately the W's and L's likely would remain the same. I just get annoyed at this jilted lover/little brother Panther fan syndrome about guys that want to leave IF they were productive here. That feeling doesn't change the facts about thoss players(Luvu comes to mind).
  24. It Was putting me to sleep too
  25. Johnson lost his mind with the steelers. That's why they were trading him or cutting him. Steelers pins the market with crazy receivers.
  26. they still put up 350+ yards of offense despite not having to. I just don't think AT fits in a functional O at this stage in his career. Which is how we landed him. Think he is just a vet bench player that might can make a random catch here or there. He basically was a slot small TE that we went to over and over and over.
