Our cupboard is practically bare, and we are depending on a crapshoot from the 19 slot. It isn’t what I’d call a strong position
-
Finding half decent LTs in free agency is rare. Going to have to draft it.

Not when you consider they're almost certainly targeting a tackle at #19. -
OT Yosh Nijman announces he’s retiring

Good chance our people had an idea of where he was at, it just wasn’t general knowledge. But I don’t understand their response, or lack of it, to the sudden loss of Icky. -

The lack of left tackle being next to TE and nickel in that first line is just baffling to me.

Can't imagine Brady going anywhere else, unless a team is truly desperate. Should be a no-brainer move for both sides here. -
Interesting that what the medical concerns were have remained hidden... And the timing of the pivot to a different player makes this suspect and seems a bit like buyer's remorse. https://share.google/Gt0M48FwR6htSOazq

With the retirement of Yoshi Ninjaman it is important that we sign Brady back. -

Miller is a real gamble. People say he is just a ROT. He has played about 100 snaps at LT in school according to someone I watched give a breakdown of these guys. Which most people have missed when talking about him. But that’s it. And thinking he can start at LOT off of that is pushing it. He fits into the hole Moton will leave, but I don’t know how much it helps us this year. And he is the one that keeps being there at 19. We need some kind of plan for sure. -

Having Christensen back is very important, IMO. He's one of the most versatile OL in the league that can actually play at a decent level. -

Brady is becoming an actual need now. What's his injury status? Will he be ready to play next season? I don't even know if he's injured at the current. Just know he usually is. -

Hurts on depth but ultimately he wasn't going to be replacing Ickey really anyway -
That is why I pay them zero attention when they log in and are like who are we hating on today. Look through a thread and parrot the same shite that has been posted for five pages. If you don't know who Gipson was, what the hell were you doing during the game last year?

Panthers signing WR John Metchie
Navy_football replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
XL is fine. He just isn't a complete WR. He's a role player. Don't think Canales fully came to grip with that until the end of the season last year. Hopefully he'll be used better next season. This team needs the physical attributes he brings to the table. -

The #Panthers are still actively looking in the TE & Nickel market. They are also wanting to re-sign T/G Brady Christensen, per source https://x.com/dixonsydernfl/status/2032091365987754178?s=46&t=xeIgh_-Vr2aKxBkBJdfnKA

OT Yosh Nijman announces he’s retiring

Based on what I’ve read he’s more gap than stop ill see myself out -
For some people, he wasn’t McConkey that night in April 2024 when he was selected. The only thing that would stop that is XL pans out while their guy busts. There is a certain amount of Morgan hate that plays into it too. It is a black mark on him for the people that did not want him to be GM. But, it isn’t like XL doesn’t give them ammunition. He has loaded the guns for them, repeatedly. For me I haven’t seen him used very much the way I expected him to be, when they took him. That is hard to resolve in my mind. I know who I want to blame for it but don’t fully understand the why it went that way part.

There are several good OTs in the draft with pro bowl player comps. And their projected availability coupled with the BPAs available around them will make them the smarter draft pick. We signed Phillips and Lloyd, so we can get the best tackle available on the board at 19. People who wanted safety or TE there would be horrible GMs. You have some franchise tackles in this draft and because of all the athletic freaks like Styles, they will be available. In conclusion, the BPA at 19 would be Blake Miller, Caleb Lomu, Spencer Fano, or Kadyn Proctor. -
Decker, the left tackle. Conklin has only played a very few snaps there in the NFL.

People must have someone in their crosshairs to be considered real fans. Someone on the roster must be the one to carry the brunt of the criticism and that is currently XL. He literally is going into year three on a rookie contract, with a still mediocre QB, and people want him cut or traded. He is extremely physically gifted, had some big moments, struggled as well, but we shouldn't give him a chance to make the next step. We literally had games where our QB threw for a whopping 54 yards, and people are yelling bye XL over a bottom roster WR move who we are clearly just kicking the tires on here. Boy, that accent and awe shucks nature must really piss people off. Or maybe they are mad because he isn't Jamar Chase out of the gate. Either way, it is weird how quickly the hate and general dislike has ratcheted up for this guy this quickly.

Somehow we lost our starting LT, our backup LT, our backup to the backup, all gone at once. And we are out there spending huge contracts on edge rushers. -
Panthers signing WR John Metchie
Navy_football replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
tuka... it's the Jets. Garret Wilson had 395 yards in 8 games. Adonai Mitchell had 301 yards in 8 games. Metchie had 256 yards in 9 total games played down the stretch when the games didn't matter anymore, and he got there in the middle of the season. He also had the most YAC in the WR room. His game film looks better than anyone on this team not named TMac, and end of the season Coker. Not saying he's a super star right now, but he improves Caolina's WR room. - Today

1. Signed a 1 year, prove it deal with the QB that he helped win the Heisman. That tells me that he hopes to rekindle some of that magic an get a lucrative deal next season. I really hope it works out because that'll be another good receiver on the roster but I'm not holding my breath. The poor man has had to deal with some terrible bad luck; Leukemia, torn ACL, and worst of all, the Jets. Bless his heart. 2. I haven't completely given up on XL, but damn! Just keep your feet inbounds and know where the 1st down line is, that's football 101. 3. WR on day 3 or even another FA is a very viable option. You gotta keep churning the bottom of the roster. Good teams have good depth.
