  1. I think it's the players around him. In 2019, our front 4 (or 3, or whatever the hell we were trying to do that year) was so mediocre that even Luke looked slightly less Luke-like.
  2. Yeah, that last month of the schedule is brutal. It’s going to be portrayed as a collapse, but in reality it will be more of a “coming back down to earth” after playing the world champs twice. I still think we’re a year away from competing with the big boys, but I really like where we are headed and a good season this year is just a bonus to me.
  3. I’m pretty sure Rivera said it a couple of times. Maybe he got it from Fox.
  4. Yeah, Rivera’s “the season is four quarters” talk always irritated me and made me wonder if it played a factor in the slow starts.
  5. It was a lot farther along in the season, if my memory serves me right. I don't see anything wrong with bringing rookies along slowly. The "throw them into the fire" philosophy often backfires.
  6. Ok. I'm on board. The four count is what sealed the deal.
  7. They're not wrong. It is too early to crown him a franchise QB. But, he's exceeded my expectations so far.
  8. I've liked Phil from the jump. He has prototypical grizzled football guy written all over him.
  9. Loved the pick, love the player. He’s not faced a QB with the skill to challenge him. He will, and I think he rises to the occasion and has a great rookie season, but I don’t think he’s going to take away half the field against upper tier QBs. They will test him.
  10. If our second half offense wasn’t currently shaky, our D would have pitched two shut outs in a row.
  11. Bonus pie thread. I’ll take it. It’s like Little Ceaser’s, only good.
  12. I don’t think he would have done that with a vet QB. I think it was to rattle the rookie. Li’l too ballsy for sure.
  13. You gotta try some subtlety. You're not going to outdo a crazed PJ Walker fan in the ridiculous take department. I'm sorry you have been eclipsed. You need to step your game up.
  14. "If (he) plays, great. If not, great." is not what you want to hear about a player you just shelled out big $$ for.
  15. Seeing as we got rid of a kicker that couldn’t kick FGs or PATs and a QB that couldn’t throw the ball, I think signing a center that can’t snap the ball might be perceived as contradictory to our current philosophy. But what do I know.
  16. Tempered enthusiasm. Some bad decisions, didn’t see some open receivers, but not turrble, good arm talent/throws a good ball. I can see him continuing to improve. I’m definitely more encouraged than I was at 7:25.
  17. I really like Fitts and Rhules philosophy. It seems to be, any draft pick after the first 20 seems to be a crapshoot, so get a lot of them. QB purgatory? Get a bunch, run them up the flagpole and move on if no one salutes. Recognize and move on quickly from errors. Definitely different from what we are used to.
  18. Don’t want to show too much of our Cinnabon heavy playbook. Or Reggie Ray only has two concussions left on his pitch count.
  19. I saw that their preseason record was 3-0 and thought it was a misprint. How’d they get an extra preseason game?
  20. Yeah. Still a fluid situation. Fields could light it up then flame out like RG3/Kaepernick. I don’t personally find it realistic to have everything 100% certain right this very minute.
