  1. There should be no excuse for Mayfield not to succeed with this team. We have a great back and some decent backups in the RB room. WR are plentiful and at least one up and coming TE. Our O-line is much improved. If our defense holds the fort we could win our share of games and at minimum be in the conversation for the playoffs. Whether Mayfield is childish or a great team leader. We just need him to execute the offense, mentor our future and give us a chance to be excited this season.
  2. Nice, Like I said it's hard to argue any of these players. Just more of a person preference. I thought about Troy Palamalu at safety as well.
  3. Hard to argue with any of these players most are HOFers or soon to be HOFers. Make your list.
  4. I choose Unitas because he would have been a beast in this pass happy era. Unitas had most of the passing records until they made it easy to pass.
  5. Since we have beat just about every topic to death I thought it might be fun to do something different. With the next game on tap the HOF game I thought it might be different to pick your ultimate team. Here's your criteria Offense 2 Tackles,2 Guards, 1 Center, 2 Tight Ends, 3 WRs 2, RB, 1 QB Defensive 2 Tackles, 2 DE, 4 LBs, 2 CB, 2 Safeties Special Teams 1 punter, 1 Kicker, 1 KR (No long Snapper needed) They don't have to be HOFer at this moment but future ones or someone you think was overlooked or they can be current players. I've listed the team that drafted them. Here's a link to refresh your memory. Hall of Famers by Position | Pro Football Hall of Fame Official Site (profootballhof.com) Here's mine. I tried to sprinkle some old-timers in mine but would probably stand up to anyone's list. Offense T - Orlando Pace Rams, Anthony Munoz Bengals G - Big John Hannah Patriots, Bruce Matthews - Oilers/Titans C. Mick Tinglehoff - Vikings WR, Jerry Rice 49ers, Steve Smith Panthers, Randy Moss Minnesota TE. Travis Kelce Chiefs, Tony Gonzales Chiefs RB Earl Campbell Oilers, Barry Sanders Lions QB Johnny Unitas Baltimore Colts Defense DT - John Randle Vikings, Warren Sapp Bucs DE - Gino Marchetti - Baltimore Colts, Michael Strahan Giants LB - Luke Kuechly Panthers, Ray Nitschke Packers, Lawrence Taylor Giants, Kevin Greene Steelers (Drafted by Ram but primary played DE with them) CB - Deion Sanders Falcons, Darrell Green Redskins S - Ronnie Lott 49ers, Ed Reed Ravens Special Teams P - Reggie Roby Dolphins K. Adam Vinatieri Patriots KR/PR Devin Hester Bears
  6. One of the best articles I have seen on ESPN in a long time. I am the same age as Sam and remember watching him in the USFL and with the Saints. The Saints were perennial losers when I was a teenager. Never really any good and though I was a Giant fan, after Baltimore left for Indy, I was always a fan of underdog teams and thoroughly enjoyed watching the Doom Patrol play. Especially Sam. Truly a beast and though small he stood out every game I saw. When he came to Carolina I was ecstatic because I knew our defense was going to be good along with the other great players we picked up defensively. We needed a leader on defense and he was the perfect fit for a startup team. He was great with N.O. but his legacy grew with us. I can't wait to see him enshrined. @ladypanther Thanks for the post.
  7. Not no, but hell no. Simmons is a basket case who can't shoot. He was traded just to get rid of him. We don't need this type of distraction.
  8. It's originating in China and flooding across our borders.
  9. From what I read it was cocaine and Fentanyl. Our country is getting flooded with this stuff. If you're doing anything that's not over the counter or prescription you are asking for trouble.
  10. I feel sorry for his family but Ferguson threw his life away for a fix. Lynyrd Skynrd couldn't have said it any better in their classic song "That Smell" You fool you
  11. Biggest leap TMJ and Tremble (tie) Biggest fall Darnold He'll fail quickly and Corral will save the season.
  12. I'd go for that but I don't see Cleveland taking all of Jimmy G's contract. They'd be better off taking the all but 5 million for Mayfield.
  13. IMO he will perform as good if not better than Darnold. Even if he throws too many picks I think the experience will help us contend in 2023. If he can just utilize his weapons and minimize his mistakes. We have a team that could surprise people. I think he's the real deal though.
  14. Didn't see any 3 way posts. Are you the official Postmaster now? Don't like it,, don't click it.
  15. This is wrong in so many ways. Not only would we give up coveted draft capital, which Fitterer is not going to do unless it's 5th round or below. Cleveland doesn't want to absorb 13 million or so of Mayfields contract but would take on Jimmy G's 28 Million. Absolutely makes on sense. The writer wrote this with his head up is ____.
  16. A 3-Team Baker Mayfield Quarterback Trade Is Being Floated (msn.com) I swear writers come up with the dumbest ideas. I don't think this has been put on the table but Carolina gets screwed in it. We get Mayfield, Cleveland gets Jimmy G and we cough up 2 picks... NOT NO BUT HELL NO.
  17. Only if it is for 5 Mil or less. I do not want Carolina giving into Cleveland's demands and absorbing 1/2 his salary. I'd do have if they throw in a 3rd round pick.
  18. People acting like we don't want him. If Seattle is willing to pay 1/2 his salary than who are the idiots. I admire Fitterer to sticking to his guns about no more than 5 million. They drafted Corral, let them roll with Sam. Once he's proven for the millionth time he isn't a starting QB go with Corral. Personally, I think it is better to let Corral start and get those 1st year QB blues out of the way. If we lose and he looks lost we are in a position to draft a first round caliber QB. If he shows promise he might just save Rhule's ass.
  19. Either we are the minor leagues or the Observer doesn't pay worth crap.
  20. Anyone to want to tank for a HS QB is off their rocker. Many, many top rated HS QBs have never sniffed professional football at any level. While the Manning name is blue blood it doesn't mean he's a surefire NFL QB and definitely not #1. Not sure what article you are reading but most of the information I have seen, Manning is the #1 HS QB in his class
  21. No thanks. Knowing our luck Manning will pull the daddy trick that he doesn't want to play for Carolina.
  22. I enjoyed listening to Goose but Donovan was on of those story teller I could listen to all day. He had the most funniest stories back when football was a man's game. Where guys would bite each other and other dirty tricks and pranks.
  23. I saw, youtube i think, a video about TE university and Olsen was there. They put these guys through a pretty decent workout. I am sure that it will help Tremble. To hear Thomas isn't there doesn't surprise me. He doesn't seem like a guy to really give a damn whether he improves or not.
