  1. That's something I can get behind. We badly need a big veteran receiver who can catch tough passes.
  2. I just watched the interview with Allen in the locker room, and man, he's a great dude. Fits the culture and personality the Panthers try to have. It's a shame they couldn't have gotten him years ago. Can't think of a better team for him to finish off his career. Hope he has some game left in the tank and sticks around a couple years.
  3. Wait until the end of the year when we're making our playoff push...
  4. They might be debating to put Charles Johnson on IR/designated to return, or cutting someone. They are also dealing with the Thomas Davis and Luke Kuechly injuries, so they might be calling up Adarius Glanton from the practice squad. Probably waiting until the last minute to make a cut.
  5. I'm guessing Allen will be used much like John Abraham was used for the Falcons circa 2008-2012. Pass rushing specialist on 3rd downs/passing downs, subbed out on early downs and rushing downs. But if Johnson misses extended time, he might be called upon to be a full-time starter, and according to the Bears fans I've talked to, he's terrible at stopping the run.
  6. Wonder if age has finally caught up to Dwan Edwards. He is 34 afterall. Glad to see Kyle Love playing well, because the Panthers face a lot of question marks on the D-Line this offseason.
  7. If Allen gets some sacks, great. He was well worth the cost. If he can teach Kony Ealy not to make bone-headed penalties and not suck 78% of the time? #gettlemagic
  8. It's a conditional 6th round pick. Probably moves up to a 5th if he balls out.
  9. WHAAAAT!!!! This is crazy Johnson's injury could be more serious than we thought...
  10. Not gonna lie I think Jacksonville is the better team than Houston. The Jags are getting royally fuged with their schedule this year, are playing less than 8 true home games in Jacksonville and only two real home games in two months. I'd say they'd have a better record than Houston this year if it wasn't for their fuged up schedule. On that note, any team starting a QB that was thrown out of Cleveland and actually thinks they can blow out a team, any team, deserves to be ridiculed.
  11. Let them have their moment of delusion. Their team has been so awful that these dreams are the closest they will get to actually winning
  12. I hope that was just a bad game because the dude can get open. With Ginn and Brown starting, the Panthers have their fastest guys on the field. Big change from when it was thought to be Funchess and Benjamin.
  13. I can't shake the feeling the Panthers are still a .500 team. I'm going 9-7. Defense looks good, but lacks an elite pass rusher to make them Top 5. Fourth straight year top 10, offense ranks around 17-19, top 5 in rushing, near dead last in passing offense. Division is better, but 9-7 could still be enough to win it.
  14. I thought that was more out of necessity than because he was on the bubble. They let go of Lee Ward already and Brockel was hurt so who else was there to play FB?
  15. Not necessarily, Todman or Whitaker could be cut. Fill the same role.
  16. I hope they keep 4 RBs this year. If last year was any indication (starting their 6th string RB for a couple games), it's that RB depth is important. Stewart, CAP, Whitaker, Todman. That's depth.
  17. But there could be teams that absolutely tank this season willing to part with a high-priced veteran WR. If Carolina can start strong, what's to say a team that is struggling by Week 5 wouldn't be willing to make a trade? Vincent Jackson???
  18. I don't see Cotchery getting cut, but Tolbert has a fat contract and clears up space to go get a veteran WR that gets cut so, who knows. Definitely one of the more interesting cut downs we have seen as Panther fans
  19. I agree with Marcus Lucas making the roster now - but do you think he'll get looks at WR too?
