  1. What are you talking about, I posted to give the tweet context with the PLAYER'S ACTUAL commentary. Anyone that follows knows he had balls hit the dirt in pre-season.
  2. Always good to have FULL context. Seeing a lot of this lately, taking the ''buzz'' words for click bait.
  3. It's the Huddle, it's what happens here, hyperbole, and exaggeration... I wanted Curtis over Robbie due to the age gap between the two players, but I am also fine with how things played out, TMJ and Shi Smith look promising, along with Chuba. While I don't agree with passing on Fields, overall they did a nice job outfitting this offense with talent. Robby was a FA signing last year, and TMJ, Smith, and Chuba were added via the draft. Factor in Arnold, and Tremble as well, and we're in a situation much better and deep offensively than last year.
  4. It's the tweets that are missed from the beat reporters.
  5. You're making my point, those Patriot OLs were not world beaters as a unit, a lot of the talk was the scheme got the ball out on target, and on time. Darnold should be an upgrade ''talent'' wise over TB, and the offense as a whole is better. I mean really think about this aside from when Okung played, it was Little, and then Scott at LT, and the LG was UDFA in Chris Reed, Schofield and Daley who was hurt. Even though people are giving Erving a hard time, he is better than Little & Scott, and Elflien is better than Reed, and Schofield. Daley is a bit of a question mark as he looked serviceable at LT in 2019, but was hurt to much of 2020 to form an additional opinion. Now there was no depth on that 2020 line, now add in Christensen, and Brown two young promising guys. We are in better shape than last year, not great shape but better shape, if we were for the sake of aruement a 5/10 on the OL last year, one could make a case for 6/10 based on the projected starters, and 6.5/10 with the depth. That is a positive step, looking at the draft overall, we look to have landed some high quality guys in -- Horn / TMJ / Chuba / Tremble -- if that means we have Erving and Elflein this year, ok, as now we have more flexibility moving forward as other parts of the roster are more complete. Which means we can pay more attention to OL, not to mention the cap space we'll have available, to extend, and target a priority FA or 2.
  6. A lot of this was said about the OL last year, and they were still middle of the pack. Having CMC, and the ability to run should alleviate some of the pressure on the offensive line. I know people are frustrated but we are not the only team dealing with starting OL issues. KC was able to turn it around 1) due to trading a 1st, and 2) they are a SB ring waiting to happen so they will get the top FA's that are available if they are able to pay them. Almost all of the best OL's are full of older guys -- DAL / PHI -- last year PIT. TB hit on Whirfs, so in our case and many other teams would you rather reach at OL, or take a talent like TMJ at the bottom of Rd2. We added two young promising OL in Christensen / Brown, let them continue to develop, I have little doubt our OL will look much different by the mid way point. Whether it's on field play or guys missing time inevitably. At the very least we seem to have a direction that we're going in.
  7. I know we had about 12 or 13 PS guys on the PS, with the release of Cannon to make room for Royce on the ''active'' roster I saw a lot of concern about KR / PR. I'm not as familiar with the ''Covid'' PS rule changes, but do you think we add him back via the PS. I saw a post that someone made the other day that referenced PS guys can get called up for gameday and used; C.J. Saunders was referenced for return duties in that post. Would this also not apply to Cannon? A calculated risk in regard to releasing him with the thought he is likely to clear waivers and can return on the PS. I also know there are new rules that allow you to ''protect'' certain PS guys as well, I think up to 8 or 10 maybe. I'm just wondering if this is more of a case of a competent front office using all the tools at their disposal for roster management versus some of the ineptitude, or lack of creativity we saw before. To see a back up LS on IR is well, new to me
  8. Thats why you take him in the 6th when he's there. Minimal investment. That provides more value than a LS. Everytime.
  9. You can definitely make a move, and still have a considerable amount of cap to carry over. Nothing wrong with exploring opportunities to get better. They should do so.
  10. Could've been 11 - KC Chiefs rookie Guard Trey Smith was RIGHT THERE -- Not taking him & Fields were my two disappointments this draft. Holding out hope Sam is salvageable.
  11. I don't see Walker getting cut, Rhule guy, and there's nothing Grier is clearly better at. If anything I could see them try to trade him for a conditional late round pick. It honestly doesn't matter who QB 3 is, if we're down to the 3rd guy the season is a wrap.
  12. Was Christensen a RT at BYU? I understand where you're going with this though -- Godfrey, Sherrod Martin, Rashaun Gaulden, etc. Hurney really sucked at identifying Safety talent, and took a 3rd round QB when we could've just signed a veteran over CGJ, who of course ends up in NO.
  13. I'd like to see: Left to Right - Moton / Elflein / Paradis / Brown / Christensen I think we see this line-up by mid-season.
  14. Look at the Bears offense....now look at ours. QBs are not saviors of franchises like that -- the Brady / Manning / Brees / Rodgers QBs are generational. The way football is now you need +athleticism / talent. Fields puts you in the Jackson / Murray field allowing you to vary your pass / run game as the QB is ALWAYS a threat. We lessened that with the signing of Teddy, and even more so moving to Darnold, not to say I haven't seen his highlights on a read option, but it's less a part of the function of the offense as it is an option. Cardinals trending up, and the Ravens have been a playoff teams since Lamar became the starter. All I'm saying is we had a chance to draft a very talented QB, and settled on the one we traded for because we traded for him. I we could move TB we could have moved Darnold and his at the time 4M in salary with little hit to the cap.
  15. That's the point, he seems to never be able to get one. I don't think anyone is questioning the coaching, just the fact QB has been a pain point. Similar to how we struggled to draft receivers for YEARS. Whether it was Hurney or Gettleman we could not bridge the gap from Smith to the next, we were fortunate with Curtis back in 17' then landing Moore in 18' that was a 4 and 5 year stretch post Smith's release. KB, injured and out of shape, Funchess never lived up to his potential even when he was made the #1 in 2018.
  16. We PASSED on Fields for a corner, albeit a corner that's likely to be damn good, but we passed on Fields and talked ourselves into a QB saying things like ''well if Darnold came out this year he'd be behind Trevor Lawrence''. BUT, he didn't come out this year, he came out 3 years ago....sigh* I don't HATE the Darnold move, I'd rather they both be on the roster with not 18.8M guaranteed to Darnold in 2022. I hope it all works out.
