Actually it can be debated. His injuries are a legitimate concern. How does he fit into your offense can be questioned. His talent as a QB absolutely need to be questioned. How signing him allows you to build a team around him can be questioned. All of these and much more factor into whether or not he can be OUR franchise QB. Contrary to what you keep repeating. LJ did not win 75% of his games. His team won 75% of the games in which he played. How much he was directly responsible for those wins or losses is a completely different statistical analysis. Remember, Payton Manning had one of the worst games by a QB in SB history and still won (with some ref help). Denver's defense dominated and he got the win. It's a total team that wins, not just the one with the flashiest superstar.

It sounds like he could be very ritualistic in his preparation routine. Watch any professional sport and you will see athletes following a specific routine before every game. People develop study habits. It's normal.

Because it's very possible and likely they don't feel he's worth what you think he's worth.

The only real exception to that for me is offensive linemen and agility drills. Sometimes it's really hard to get a feel for their footwork in the scrum of a game. Little is a great example.

It's pretty safe to say his mom doesn't have the connections to pick up the phone and talk to different people in the organizations to guage interest. Not hiring an agent is going to cost him far more than it saves him.

Not really. Just because the Browns made a bad deal doesn't mean the rest of the NFL has to do it. The price for Lamar is 2 1sts and a likely fully guaranteed salary. It's very possible that teams don't want to pay that price or go through the entire negotiation process just to have the Ravens match it and be done. It really could be that simple.

I get what you're saying, but trading picks to move up in the draft doesn't require room under the salary cap. If he's only willing to sign a contract that guarantees 45m per season out of 50, there has to be room under the cap to actually sign it. After he's signed, it can be reworked. That's the snag. It's getting under that can be problematic. Add in the Ravens can match whatever he agrees to and he can't cut a team friendly deal to go elsewhere, because he'd be bound to it when the Ravens matched. It's why we had to make so much cap room to make the trade offer for Watson. We had to actually have the means to perform to execute the trade offer.

If I had to guess, it's all part of taking his mom to school as his agent. They're driving the price down. Eventually he will have to hire a real agent, but by that point he'll have hurt his value. They'll come back to the table, but it will be for a lesser price. Pretty standard negotiating tactics I would think. I've done it several times in real estate deals.

What's happening right now has a similar feel to the contracts right before the rookie contract went into place. I think teams are going to get to a point and say this is as much % of our cap as we're paying and that's it. Those rookie contracts used to cripple teams when they didn't work out and these mega contracts have that same feel.

All you really need to do is look at the Josh Norman situation before and after having a real agent to get the answer to that.

I'm pretty sure there's language in there that doesn't allow a player to sit out if his team matches the offer. That would be negotiating in bad faith. I would think the Ravens and NFLPA would be able to eat him alive for it.

Don't remember exactly, but didn't Cam want a guaranteed contract after his last shoulder injury? I seem to remember something about that and then letting him play out the one year remaining. I tried to find it but didn't have any luck.

Raiders couldn't afford to fire McDaniels so they probably don't have the money to pay his guarantee anyway.
