  1. 4 concussions. 3 grade 1, 1 grade 2. 26 years later some of the original symptoms are now coming back to the forefront. Not terrible but noticeable as I've gotten older. Also had my knee bent sideways and that pretty much ended my football career. It was never the same after.
  2. There was no answer for Clete.
  3. Defense wasn't great last year but that was hardly the issue. Our offense looked like a nursing home scooter race. Welcome to the Dependy 500.
  4. Hot day. First real practice. Being sore isn't that surprising.
  5. Gotta get his reps in before putting him on IR for the season.
  6. Murray isn't good enough to carry that team. And with a contract that size they can't really afford to pay anyone else to carry them either. I know QB is important but if you can't build around them, what's the point in a big contract.
  7. Not really. Corral is a backup at least for the next few years. We needed one of those too unless Breer is confident in PJ Walkers ability as a NFL backup. I'm not. Darnold won't be here next year.
  8. Right now I think he's just enjoying the time away. When you step away from something that has consumed your life for decades, especially for the reasons he did, it's hard to get back into that commitment.
  9. I think he's going to be our swing tackle. He's not a guard unless some miracle happens with line coaching. His technique isn't good enough ATM to handle to power rush. He's used to having room to slide to the side and not having to back up vertically. It's kind of like leading with the other foot walking up stairs. You can do it, but it just feels weird.
  10. The Osweiller trade cost a 2nd and 6th for a 4th and to take his contract. Nobody is paying 20m for a 6th rd pick.
  11. It's not the only reason. Lawsuits are expensive. Even a minor fraudulent lawsuit can cost the regular person 25k easily. This isn't minor, which means high priced lawyers, thousands of billable hours to deal with all the paperwork, and that's before stepping foot in a courtroom. I'm not saying they did or didn't do anything, but in today's society, where facts mean less than social perception, settling could have just been a cheaper option for the same public opinion.
  12. He's terrible but since we're on the hook, keep him as trade fodder in case some random team needs to tank for the #1 pick including us if the season goes poorly.
  13. Older women know things, especially when you're only 18 or 19.
  14. No one will ever convince me that game wasn't determined before the ball was ever snapped. No way were they going to let PM be 1-3 in SBs. If that had been TB12 instead of Cam half that defense would have been ejected. Manning losing to an upstart young star doing everything the NFL hated was never going to happen.
  15. To be fair, I think part of the reasons fans have been so bad is typically as a fan base you may have 1 or 2 moves that you could "predict" would turn out poorly. Since 18, it's felt like about 75% of the moves have been so blatantly awful that we were calling them failures when they happened before the so called experts. It's hard to root for a team by guys you look at and say I could do a better job in all aspects of building a team (FA, draft, contracts, coaches), and you're right.
  16. So was our braintrust and a lot of this board was perfectly content to overlook all those accusations.
  17. Hopefully after this season we can turbo poo rhule and his collection of lousy QBs.
  18. Depends on how much of those numbers the receivers are responsible for getting. YAC would play a big role if it's a lot of short passes and screens.
  19. There will always be someone to buy the stuff. The point of lacing weed is to use a recreational drug to get them hooked on something much stronger. It's about making money. You can get things for pennies on the dollar in trade. You may lose a few small time customers but you can make 10x the money off the ones you get hooked. It's all about volume. Losses are acceptable.
  20. Probably should avoid any comments about finishing early as well.
  21. True. It's just with college fans built in from the student body, there's an inherent loyalty that you don't really get from the NFL. The NFL is always trying to attract new customers and to get big dollars for big tickets, it always has to be the newer shinier experience. I'm sure college will progress that direction now that players are being paid, but it won't go as far. Michigan - Ohio State in the big house was probably my 2nd best football game experience only trumped by inaugural game at Ericcson Stadium beating down the Falcons with my dad.
  22. College football games are much different than NFL in my experience. NFL is solely about making money. College is more about football experience.
