It wasn't just every QB. So many guys played worse under him. This is the first time I can recall going into an offseason and having almost no handle on the talent level of our team. Do we just not have the players? Was it the scheme? Was it just OOU BS permeating the building? Those must have been the most delicious meatballs ever.

7-10. The only record that matters. We beat a Detroit team bad against the run. I'd rather see Brady get humiliated by Dallas on wildcard weekend as his last game before retirement and screw TB draft position. Darnold. Meh. Still Darnold. I didn't like the McAdoo hire at the beginning of the season and the end of the season didn't change my mind. It was a pretty boring offense with little creativity and the most yards of the season was by Shenault running that fake over and over and over. Dude have to have logged 2k yards as a decoy.

BM is a pretty accurate description of his offense

Really depends on the quality of the wing sauce and the quality of the blue cheese. If it's that blue cheese with the nasty chemical taste, then yeah, it's gotta be ranch.

I don't know if Darnold could have ever been good. I do know that Adam Gase was bad and Matt Rhule made him look like SB Jimmy Johnson. If ever there was a tandem that could wreck a QBs development, it would be those two.

2 different eras of basketball. 2 different ways the game was played, different in the way its called, and different in the way teams are built. MJ changed the game. LeBron is playing on the foundation MJ built. Not taking anything away from Lebron's skills, but if I had to build a team around 1 or the other, I'd take MJ 10 out of 10. I'd take Kobe over LJ too.

Kind of where I'm at. Could Darnold possibly actually do something with someone who understands offense. I admit, it's really morbid curiosity at this point. I don't expect much though.

ProFootballNetwork mock draft
SmokinwithWilly replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Your words. We only need a rookie QB and we are instantly a legit threat to win the NFC every year. I don't think we're that close. The teams we beat were terrible against the run. The ones that beat us weren't. We made Mitch Trubisky look like a franchise QB FFS. Any decent passing offense took the top off on our D. I understand you need a QB to be competitive. You also need an offensive line, offensive weapons, and a defense. We aren't as complete as you are making this team out to be. This team has holes, one of which is QB. And I hate to break it to you, a rookie QB isn't going to come in here and take this team to a Super Bowl or NFCS. We can take a shot on trading up and going after a QB. Doing so will cost us dearly. I don't want to see us give up 3 1st and 3 2nds, because I think that's what it's going to take to get to 1. If we can trade firsts and give up a possible 24 first to move up for a QB, fine. But mortgaging the next 3 years when we are not a playoff, much less over 500, team is a very Hurney thing to do, and I've already had enough of that poo. Twice. -
I don't think we're years away. We've never had an offensive minded HC so seeing offense being the focal point isn't something we're used to.

ProFootballNetwork mock draft

I have higher standards than "winning" the NFCS at 7-10 and getting obliterated in the playoffs. But I'm one of those people that thinks a team ought to have a winning record just to get into the playoffs. I never said ignore the QB. I said we have more holes to fill than just a QB to be competitive. We've been to the SB twice, but this franchise has never been competitive on a regular basis. That's what I want to change. Cheering for a winning team once every 4 years on average just isn't going to cut it for me. -

I don't give 2 shits about making the playoffs in a terrible conference. That's like winning the NIT tournament because you weren't good enough to get into the real one. I want to be competitive in the NFC. So yeah, we're going to need more than just a QB to deal with teams that actually have an offense and can stop the run. -

There is quite the difference in being competitive and winning the NFCS right now. Making the playoffs with a losing record isn't something to cheer about. It's going to take more than a rookie QB to fix all the mess Rhule left in his wake. Not saying we don't need a QB, but that's definitely not all we need. -

After watching the draft last year, the only thing I can say with certainty is Roger Goodell still sounds like a condescending asshole. -
I'd immediately check to see if he has a business license, contractors license, insurance and anything else you would need to legitimately do whatever it is he's doing. I have a couple separate licenses outside of those I listed which is why I say that. If he's charging you T&M then demand a detailed breakdown in writing. If it's anything structural, electrical, or plumbing, I'd call in a licensed contractor just to verify it was done correctly. He's asking for Venmo so he doesn't have to report it. I'd be pretty comfortable saying this guy isn't licensed, bonded, or insured. You may end up in small claims court on this one. But where I am, if someone performs work over $1k without a state registered contractors license, you are only obligated to pay them $1k of whatever the bill is. This helps prevent some of these shady characters from setting up shop because the courts won't back them if they sue for non payment. For basic handyman type stuff, when I have free time to do it, I charge anywhere between $95 to $125 an hour plus material w/ markups. But I also bid jobs in entirety, not on an hourly basis. Any contractor worth a poo charging T&M has to provide a detailed invoice in order to get paid.

I've never really understood why. KR/PR is free field position. We have all seen what guys like Hester could do in the return game. An extra 6-8 yards on a return can mean the difference in a game, especially if it's coming down to a field goal.

Nebraska AD probably won't see employment again after he's fired for not being OOU.
-
I have this awful feeling it's going to be like listening to Rhule talk.
-
We've had Matt fuging Rhule. I'd be excited about an ape throwing his poo at a playbook on a wall.

This is what it looks like when you hire a Rockstar coordinator.

Saints could be making a move for Carr

Because blaming Carr is easier than saying they fuged up bringing in McDaniel. -
I feel very strongly about this... Derek Carr.

The real question is how much is he going to want. If he's asking 25 or 30m per year I don't think we're going to get involved. 10-15, I don't have an issue going after him on a 2-3 year deal. I'd rather MC and rookie QB actually have time to learn like Mahomes did in KC. -

I've used this site and managed to end up with 16 2024 1st and a dozen 24 2nds. I now just use it to see if I can end up with 20, then 25 1sts for next year. -

Scott Fitterer.... let's grade his drafts and FA signings

I'm not so sure Gilmore was about making a playoff run vs teaching the young CB room things that coaches just can't. I remember listening to an interview with him talking about how there's things he shows the other guys regarding body language, hand movement, eyes, shifts in body weight, anticipating breaks etc. during a play. He was saying coaches can tell you about it, but there's things that you don't see unless you're doing it with some of these receivers. The way he spoke led me to believe that might have been part of the reason he was here. Having a player of his caliber showing them these little things would be worth it if he could take 2-3 years off their development would easily be worth a 6th rd pick.
