There better be a really good explanation for the suspension length or I think there will be some serious repercussions among fans, especially women. Right now it clearly sends the message that as long as you're a star, you can do whatever the hell you want. But hey, the next time another player is accused of something like this we should expect him to dress for a game, but only be required to sit out the 1st quarter.

I feel you pain bro. I pinched a nerve in my back and couldn't move for 5 days from turning sideways when my wife called my name. Getting old sucks.

You can't use your franchise QB as a battering ram from day 1 and expect a long career from him. Hundreds of hits add up, even if your name is Cam Newton. It was always being brought up that RB careers are over by 30 with a few rare exceptions. They get beaten and battered and fall apart. We didn't have a RB so we used Cam. We had an inept OC, so we used Cam. We put everything on Cam and well, his body broke. Sorry, but this falls squarely onto the shoulders of Ron Rivera.

4 concussions. 3 grade 1, 1 grade 2. 26 years later some of the original symptoms are now coming back to the forefront. Not terrible but noticeable as I've gotten older. Also had my knee bent sideways and that pretty much ended my football career. It was never the same after.

Hot day. First real practice. Being sore isn't that surprising. -

Gotta get his reps in before putting him on IR for the season.

Is anyone not gonna mention Murray?
SmokinwithWilly replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
Murray isn't good enough to carry that team. And with a contract that size they can't really afford to pay anyone else to carry them either. I know QB is important but if you can't build around them, what's the point in a big contract. -
Right now I think he's just enjoying the time away. When you step away from something that has consumed your life for decades, especially for the reasons he did, it's hard to get back into that commitment.

I think he's going to be our swing tackle. He's not a guard unless some miracle happens with line coaching. His technique isn't good enough ATM to handle to power rush. He's used to having room to slide to the side and not having to back up vertically. It's kind of like leading with the other foot walking up stairs. You can do it, but it just feels weird.

Texans preemptively settle with 30 women
SmokinwithWilly replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's not the only reason. Lawsuits are expensive. Even a minor fraudulent lawsuit can cost the regular person 25k easily. This isn't minor, which means high priced lawyers, thousands of billable hours to deal with all the paperwork, and that's before stepping foot in a courtroom. I'm not saying they did or didn't do anything, but in today's society, where facts mean less than social perception, settling could have just been a cheaper option for the same public opinion. -
Miami would make sense. Could go deep sea fishing and come back with his daily limit of blow and percocet

Older women know things, especially when you're only 18 or 19.

No one will ever convince me that game wasn't determined before the ball was ever snapped. No way were they going to let PM be 1-3 in SBs. If that had been TB12 instead of Cam half that defense would have been ejected. Manning losing to an upstart young star doing everything the NFL hated was never going to happen.

To be fair, I think part of the reasons fans have been so bad is typically as a fan base you may have 1 or 2 moves that you could "predict" would turn out poorly. Since 18, it's felt like about 75% of the moves have been so blatantly awful that we were calling them failures when they happened before the so called experts. It's hard to root for a team by guys you look at and say I could do a better job in all aspects of building a team (FA, draft, contracts, coaches), and you're right.

So was our braintrust and a lot of this board was perfectly content to overlook all those accusations.

Baker Mayfield is a Carolina Panther
SmokinwithWilly replied to uncfan888's topic in Carolina Panthers
Depends on how much of those numbers the receivers are responsible for getting. YAC would play a big role if it's a lot of short passes and screens.
