Cam Newton Agrees to 5 year contract extension worth 103 million.

This will be absolutely fuging huge for us! If we waited until next year his price would be off the charts after he goes off, and wins league MVP and Super Bowl MVP next year. -

Is this a legitimate account? Don't be bullshitting me again with some fake nonsense. My heart can't take it at my age. -
Gotta pull for the mixed race players...

Steelers. How fuging great would that be to whoop their asses on the biggest stage of all and then all their 'fans' will be burying their heads in the sand.
-
May be, but if his 2014 season with the Packers was any indication, he won't make it here...
-
I wish you didn't bring that up. Here I am getting all excited about Cam, Philly, Hill, etc. and bam it hits me out of nowhere that we still have Shula...

David Newton gives the nod to Stephen Hill, mentions Corey Brown.

Not sure why you quoted me but I agree. He's not even an inch shorter than Odell Beckham, and I think that guy's done pretty well for himself... -

It's untrained analysis by him. Any fourth grader could use that reasoning. -

Classic David Newton, jumping on the hype machine. Voth and Igo both thought Philly was the best wideout today, and Newton just "mentions" him and says he had a "decent" showing. The thing I'm most excited about is Philly gaining 10 pounds AND speed, somehow. Performances now really don't mean anything at all, but to gain 10 pounds and be faster than last season is huge. -
That's not really how it works. Funchess will line up in the slot regardless of whoever could go outside. He plays all the wideout positions and will be moved around based on the package. Philly showed last year he is capable of playing the Z receiver spot and the slot, so I see him and Funch moving around a lot. It's not as simple as "WR1 and WR2 are outside and WR3 is in the slot."

Can't wait to get Funch and KB back in to see how these guys compare to them. Hoping Funch can look as good as KB did last year.

I'm telling everyone right now. Philly will be our #3 WR this season. I've been saying this for the past couple months, after watching tape from last season. Not saying it'll happen, but don't be surprised if he explodes like Victor Cruz did. As much as people here want to call him a JAG (top dawg...), he is a legitimate threat and I think he'll be a longterm WR for us. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he pushes Funchess for the second most snaps at wideout, depending on Funchess' development. I don't anticipate that but it would not surprise me at all. Working on getting video clips set up and I'll post a breakdown hopefully this weekend.

Philly and Hill is my prediction.

A 17 year old has no business saying LeBron is the greatest of all time and there was never an athlete like that before him. He plays in one of the weakest eras I've seen in my life and still only has 2 championships, and he had to join the best to get those instead of beating the best. Easily the most overrated player in NBA history, with all these young kids thinking he's so great because he can dunk and gets a foul call on every single play. The guy just is not all that special. He's a physical specimen, without a doubt, but his impact on the game is nowhere near as much as these fools think it is. He's hardly "carrying" the Cavs. Thompson, Smith, Mozgov have been on fuging fire. And Atlanta is trash, my streetball team from back in the day could've beat those chumps. I could think of over 50 players I'd rather have on a team than LeBron, if my only goal was winning.

If Cam has an MVP type season, what will be the reason?
t96 replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
There won't be any one REASON. Everything you said would factor in. Plus his development will continue like it has every year. I think, despite the bad stats and what looked like bad play on the surface, he improved a lot last year and it was a big learning year for him. He was in the MVP discussion early last year before the line went haywire, even with the busted ankle and ribs and poor overall "weapons." I really hope this is THE YEAR for Cam, and I don't see any reason why it won't be. He has the ability physically and mentally to be an MVP-caliber player, and I do think it'll show this year. Only possible hinderance is Shula, but I'm willing to give him a chance now that we have better personnel to run his offense. It seemed to work well down the stretch last year, when our interior was shored up, Philly was inserted and Stew was healthy. That was evidenced by our game against Seattle where our offense was actually carrying the team. If the defense played like it should have (or we had Hardy and Star...) we scored more than enough points to win that game. -
Maybe, but I think Romo is underrated. He gets pretty much no respect and is consistently believed to be a choker, which is completely unreasonable. I think this is due to the Cowboys' record not being good, just like people point to Cam's record when criticizing him. If they had a better defense the past couple years they could've been competing for Super Bowls and Romo would be up there with the elite QBs in the eyes of most people. He was the main reason they even got to 8-8 those years, because the rest of the team was a 2-14 team. Guys like Dez and Murray helped, of course, but they don't take away from how good Romo has played. As for Ben, I could see an argument for him being better than Cam, but I feel people are just very high on him because of this past season. The Super Bowls were because of their D, not because of him. And other than last year he has been pretty average for the most part. Based on experience I'd say he's probably better than Cam right now, but when it's all said and done, Cam will have had a better career.
-
The only "no debate" ones are Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Romo, Rivers, and Manning. Maybe maybe big Ben but I could see someone making an argument that Cam is right there with him. The rest are absolutely debatable and some are clearly not as good as Cam.

2011 NFL draft revisited, would you take JJ Watt over Cam?
t96 replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
We need to save this thread for when Luke and Cam have given us 5 Super Bowl wins and Watt and Luck all have zero. -
And please nobody come in here telling me rap or electronic sh*t is "music." It's not.
-
Popular music has been trash for decades now.

Of course but they're stupid so they'd get caught and then everyone else would vote on the Patriots' punishment AND their fans' punishment.
-
Should let fans vote on it...
