  1. My impression is that we probably are near the bottom in a lot of areas but we're better maximizing what little we do have. Also, there seems to be quite a lot of bad teams this season to where it wouldn't take as much for them to spiral downwards. If there's one arguable advantage on our end, not as much drama here. So far, Tepper's been relatively quiet. Chuba's plugging along nicely. Team seems to be in a lot better spirits compared to last year. Morgan's first draft is getting us some tangible results. No real rumblings about firing people. May take time to climb out of the hole but it helps a lot if we can just plug along and put the work in and avoid being pressured into bad decisions.
  2. I could see Stefanski staying one more year mainly because the Deshaun Watson contract is such an albatross that I read the soonest they might be able to cut him is after next season as a post-June 1 cut. Bears have a bad habit drafing a QB high and then canning the HC one year afterwards. Firing Eberflus would continue the pattern. I think Raiders had a lot of injuries which explains their struggles. Normally, I'd say Pierce will get another shot but with Brady now having part ownership, who knows. Someone else mentioned it but I have to wonder if there's thoughts within the building about switching back to a 4-3, especially with Morgan as the GM and our defense being bare bones on talent which gives us an opening to transition with brand new players. This obviously makes Evero expendable and there's people out there like Robert Saleh who can run a 4-3 defense.
  3. We got a firing! Not a big surprise other than I expected others to have gotten canned first. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jets-fire-g-m-joe-douglas
  4. Pretty bad when you ask your backup QB to throw 50+ times.
  5. ...yeah, taking that FG off the board kinda backfired a bit there.
  6. Cowboys defense made ours look competent on that initial drive.
  7. If we could get Danny Dimes for a dime... I'd be happier with the dime.
  8. Chiefs being stout against the run is one big problem. The other is that despite the Chiefs offense being quite mortal, our defense is still utterly putrid and Reid/Mahomes are far too smart not to exploit our weaknesses constantly. Personally, I'm most interested in how this team plays after a bye under Canales.
  9. Josh Allen saw what Geno did earlier and said, "Watch this!"
  10. Geno with maybe the GW run into the end zone for the Seachickens.
  11. Former Panther Gross-Matos just got a sack. Think he had just come off IR too.
  12. Steelers win. And this is probably the cherry on top for them...
  13. Just realized Colts beat the Jets. Gotta give credit to AR for coming back and playing well after getting benched.
  14. I'd say it's about as expected. Close chippy low-scoring game. And is that a pick by the Steelers?
  15. I'd say it's more that the Rams are a step above the worst teams in the NFL. Unfortunately, there's a lot of teams this year that are bottom dwellers.
  16. So we have 16 teams playing right now and most are around halftime. At a glance, I see about 11 teams that have only scored 10 points or fewer so far.
  17. Justin Tucker era may be coming to an end. Two missed field goals in a game? You never see that.
  18. A great O-line allows plays to happen. A great D-line prevents opponents from getting their plays started. Been my general philosophy which is why I've always advocated putting our money on those closest to the ball, linemen. Don't overcomplicate it. Build the foundation and then watch all the other skill players improve. Personally was never a big fan switching to a 3-4, especially as the league has trended back to more run-heavy offenses. Also, maybe it's just a feeling but I swear we've been generally worse afterwards since the switch. Whatever benefit we were supposed to get leaving behind the 4-3, I don't see it.
  19. Well, they could go the Eli Manning route and try to get their way to where they want. Personally, far too many red flags. Drafting those two is like taking on a ticking time bomb that will go off at the first sign of trouble. As an aside, clown show organizations... wonder if the Cowboys qualify under their defintion.
  20. I always take these grades with a grain of salt. That said, I think this only adds to my belief that Tremble is not our long term solution at tight end.
  21. I suppose the one thing you learn being around this long is how all the arguing and bickering all end up sounding the same. Only the names change. For example, all the BY talk here is child's play compared to when Jake Delhomme was our QB. We even had a name for those defending Jake: Blind Delhomme Jock Sniffer (BDJS). And of course the running joke that 3rd and long = draw play every single time. And making fun of David Carr's gloves. And the disdain for drafting Luke even though we already had linebackers at the time. And swinging back on topic, how giving Thomas Davis Sr yet another shot after multiple injuries was a horrible idea. Give TD his due because he proved us all wrong.
