  1. One more QB domino off the board. Winston to the Saints I would assume? Mariota to ATL picking up steam... Really only leaves us and Seattle for Baker Mayfield/Jimmy G. The less suitors there are the cheaper thjs trade gets. Wanted two seconds for Jimmy G? A 3rd for Baker? Here's a future 5th. Better yet, why don't you send me a 4th and the QB for a future 5th since we're eating the salary and the dead cap means you cant release them... Make that trade and have another team who want to trade ahead of ATL and Seattle for a qb? We'll take this years 1,2 and a future 1 to make it happen. PLENTY of options available and this only helps the Panthers. Also, Matty Ice - GET THE fug OFF MY FIELD!!
  2. I wouldn't trade him for one 2nd let alone two. YIKES.
  3. More importantly "back to ATL, possibly with a sweetener" Pllllleeeeeeeeassssssse let them give him a raise and or contract extension. Preferably with heavy guaranteed money and maybe even some void years to make it work.
  4. Id rather have Gilmore at 2/32 than Jackson at 3/35. I said if Gilmore signed for less than 16/year it would make the Jackson deal hurt. As a fan I just hope we made the right choice.
  5. Don't disagree. Kalil signing was bad on the surface and only got worse. Whitworth turned 40 in December. Brown will be 37 by the start of preseason. 2 year deal like I mentioned above be about all I was comfortable with. Even still I'd still take a LT at 6.
  6. Think they're setting themselves up for BPA here. At 36 Brown clearly isn't the long term answer but if one of the top 3 OT fall you take them, kick them inside st LG for a year or 2 and run over every single team in the league. If the top 3 are all gone you've got your pick of a QB or either of the two DEs and still have a capable LT on opening day without having to rely on the unknown of BC. Id prefer Amrstead but wouldn't hate this signing if the money is right.
  7. I'm talking like a 5th/6th round pick. Browns need to move him to facilitate the Watson deal. The 5th year is fully guaranteed, can't cut him just like us with Sam. Has to be dealt to open up cap space. If they don't want him in the AFC us or Seattle would represent the only destinations. With Baker I feel he would immediately be at worst like the 6th best QB in the NFC and we're a playoff team if the team stays healthy. We'd be able to sign him long term or tag him ala Kirk Cousins if we chose to. If we arent a playoff team then Rhule is gone, Darnold is gone, Baker is gone and we are out after round pick. It literally is a win win scenario. I'm not talking about serious day 1 or 2 assets or committing big money right now. If the team needs to win right now (and by all accounts they do) there isn't a QB out there thats going to provide as good a chance at that as Baker Mayfield.
  8. The only QB I'm trading for is Mayfield. Outside of that I'm taking one at 6 or moving down 5-10 slots and getting whichever of Willis, Pickett, Howell is there.
  9. After last season I will gladly take the upgrade to average. Hit on a QB be it a resurgence for a guy like Baker or through the draft with Willis, Pickett, Howell? Oh wee mayne
  10. Even that may be too high. We're looking at one year rental before you have to tag and sign him long term coming off shoulder surgery. Next years 3 us the highest id go and that is probably good enough. Sam and Baker in camp on 1 year deals. If they fail, they're both gone with Rhule. With the moves made today and still keeping pick number 6 in the mix...I think we're a playoff team tbh.
  11. Second? Nah a 5th now. Id say lower but i actually want him here and thats the offer to outbid the rest lol. Theyve lost any and all leverage. Fully guaranteed 18 mil just like Darnold.
  12. Anything under 20 would have been a steal. Especially with the contract Kirk just got in Jacksonville. 4 years 73 is perfect considering just last year Golladay got 4 years 72 million while being 4 years older than Moore.
  13. Sorry poorly worded on my part. Meant I was more comfortable with the restructure of Moton vs Robby.
  14. I dont disagree at all. I even said in a later post that this move, particularly with Robby is a head scratcher. First move that feels like the ole Hunrey special. We saw it play out with Hurney restructuring players that 1) shouldn't have been paid what they were and 2) then constantly restructuring to the point where we are stuck and can't move on from them. Its certainly not the ideal scenario but I feel a lot more comfortable restructuring a guy like Moton vs CMC, Robby etc.
  15. Our 4th went to the Jets in the Darnold trade which was 2022 2nd, 2022 4th, 2021 6th. Our pick this year was the Rams pick they traded to Houston who traded it to us during the draft last year. After comp picks its allllll the way down to 137.
  16. Players would never stop it. Also protects their game checks from suspensions.
  17. Worth noting the Panthers now have the 2nd most cap space in the NFL at 34 million trailing only Indy who's at 39 million. Id wager some more moves coming down the pipeline today.
  18. I saw that. Hurt my soul. Pretty much guarantees Robby is here for the next 2 years and we're almost certainly not trading him unless someone parts with like a 2nd rounder. This move feels like a head scratcher to me. This is one I would have steered away from. Robbys contract actually doesn't look that bad after seeing some of the nonsense getting tossed around in FA right now and we had an easy out in case he further regressed this season. Odd move for sure.
  19. Assuming the players restructured play out the length of their contracts and aren't cut/waived or traded we won't add any dead money. None of the restructures have added dummy or void years like the Saints do. This year we're paying Paradis and Reddick for void years but looking ahead quickly at 2023 I dont see any on Spotrac.
  20. legit lold. That got me. The memes from the past few days have been a great distraction. I'm sure the pain will set in come August but for now I dont even care.
  21. Current preference: Baker Cam + Willis @ 6 Trade back for Howell Tank with Darnold Jameis/Mariota Will Grier PJ Walker Matt Moore Jimmy G
  22. I'm only disappointed we won't get to see Burns plant him twice a year until 2023 since he'll get suspended all next year. Oh and like Jeremy said. He clearly is now 100% guilty of any and all past present and future allegations. Now let's open that checkbook up to Armstead.
  23. Darnold had 2 years of control left (one of them fairly cheap) and that relationship wasn't openly soured. Sure we all knew they were taking Wilson at 2 to replace him but it wasn't a public spat like whats unfolded in Cleveland. Baker has 1 year of control left playing on the 5th year option then will be up for a new contract. Hes coming off season ending surgery (to the non throwing shoulder, I'm not worried about it) and there is no way he plays again in Cleveland the way things have unfolded. I think we're looking at a future conditional 4th here. I'd do a 3rd if they'd take Sam in a swap. Maybe even a pick swap from 6 to 13 with Baker and Sam swapping teams too. I have to say the more I think about this the more I like this option. We've at least seen big time throws from Baker we haven't seen from someone like Jimmy G. He's got more of an attitude/swagger like a Cam and isn't afraid to be a vocal leader - Something we have sorely missed on this team.
  24. Honestly hope that the offer never gets leaked and save some face with the team claiming jt was just draft capital offered so you don't have anyone get upset like Baker in Cleveland. Hand Armstead a blank check, resign Gilmore, trade a late round pick for Baker Mayfield and take BPA or trade down for your QB of the future while amassing some additional picks.
