Would love Slowik, I really like that he’s worked on both sides of the ball at the NFL level. You don’t see that too often.

What coach(s) would actually make you happy with the hire
MillionDollarCam replied to MGH1989's topic in Carolina Panthers
Slowik… The success of Mike Shanahan’s coaching tree can’t be ignored. Also, Slowik has worked on both sides of the ball at the NFL level and got his start as a defensive assistant for Washington and then became the defensive quality control coach for San Francisco. To my knowledge, it’s rare for an NFL head coach to have professional experience on both sides of the ball which I personally believe sets Slowik apart from other candidates. He’s a well-rounded coach. -
As far as physicality goes. Probably not a better lineup you could have out there sans Noesen. Svechnikov, Bunting, Lemiuex, Orlov, and DeAngelo should all provide a physical presence. Lemieux and Wilson had a nice fight in 2019, it’ll be interesting to see if that rivalry is renewed.

Got the Canes at +165 and put $100 on them last night because they are rarely dogs. I was happy.

There was an article on this a couple weeks ago. If you want a goalie you are going to have to pay out the ass for him.
-
Canes looked to have hit on both FUS and Nadeau. While Nadeau isn’t playing in the World Juniors, he is killing it at Maine. He’s currently fourth in the NCAA in goals per game and first among freshman, just above future number one overall pick, Macklin Celebrini.

Hopefully Lemieux details the Trouba train tonight.

Penix’s accuracy is unbelievable.
-
Damn, what a ball by Penix.

Washington being a dog is interesting. Undefeated and they probably have the best player on the field in Penix, I wonder what Vegas sees.

2023-2024 General Canes Thread
MillionDollarCam replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Fast won’t be playing against the Rangers and while we could go 11-7 with TDA drawing in, the PP is en fuego right now so I wouldn’t mess with it. Give me Brendan Lemieux. -
Move the team to the UK and let the Brits deal with this poo show. Then give Ben Navarro the NFL franchise that he deserved before the NFL fuged him.
-
I’d drive the whole organization to the airport.
-
Freddie is on regular IR not LTIR, his cap space still counts. In fact, we don’t even have the cap space to claim Samsonov right now. Freddie would have to moved to LTIR to get it done and Raanta would obviously be sent down. If Freddie isn’t coming back then maybe it makes sense to do this but there was a report a week ago that Andersen is going to resume skating soon. I personally believes this only makes sense if the Canes and Leafs swap Raanta and Samsonov and the Leafs retain to match salaries.
-
Only way I’d be interested in Samsonov is if he was acquired in a trade for Raanta and there was retention. His cap hit is way to high to put in a claim for him. Claiming Samsonov would guarantee that we aren’t able to make a move at the deadline.

For what it’s worth, that was the nicest throw from someone affiliated with the Panthers organization all day.- 351 replies

Honestly, Blue Jean Friday’s don’t seem so bad right now. -

Probably meant to throw it at a Jaguars fan and hit a Panthers fan… interceptions on and off the field. -

Saturday Night/MNF Game Cowboys Vs. Lions
MillionDollarCam replied to Butterflyj30's topic in Carolina Panthers
Regardless of Campbell’s foolishness to continue going for two, the refs did fug Detroit from what it looks like. But nothing will change until NFL teams as a whole come together and hold officials accountable. Who knows if these blown calls are honest mistakes or refs influencing games due to direction from the league, no matter, the NFL is turning into the WWE and it’s time that referee’s be held accountable for their mistakes just like everyday citizens that work in corporate America. -

Hutchinson was a force tonight which makes Campbell’s decision to continue going for two even more baffling. The Lions defense was playing solid. The Cowboys only drove the field once, the other TD was just CeeDee Lamb being CeeDee Lamb. I don’t get the decision. -

The Lions defense had been solid all night. If Campbell doesn’t have confidence in his defense to get a stop in OT after kicking the XP in regulation then I think that says more about him as a coach than going for two multiple times does. If he doesn’t think his defense can get a stop in OT then he needs to prepare his defense better but going for two from the seven yard line (even though there was a penalty) and then again from the 4 is just dumb. Even if you have three plays drawn up that you’d deem are a success, the odds that you succeed are slim. Just bad coaching. -

Dan Campbell’s aggression fugs his team way too much. Passed up free points in the first half which in hindsight would have won the game for the Lions and then continuing to go for two three straight times instead of sending the game to OT is idiotic. I’m all for being aggressive but some of his decisions are moronic. -

A battle of which coach wants to poo all down their leg more tonight. -

Detroit should have kicked the field goal back in the first half rather than going for it on 4th down. If Dallas scores a TD here then it’s over and that could have been avoided if Detroit just took the easy points in the first half.
