  1. I agree, BUT... Burns is a very, very good player, but I would have a lot of trouble turning down 2 rd 1 picks and a 2nd for him. very very good DE's get very very big contracts. I think he can be replaced by a rookie, even if we bundle a few picks to move earlier into the first to pick him. And that would leave us on a 5 year cheap deal with extra picks. I loves me some Burns, but that's a lot to turn down. Who ever is QB next year will need DJ, and his contract is doable. We would have been idiots to trade him.
  2. You're right, but in his defense he wasn't allowed to throw in that game. No one is claiming that he's the second coming of Joe Montana. It's just proof that with a half way decent QB we have a good team.
  3. Maybe we should loose every game for the next 4 years. Just think of the talent we could amass!
  4. Yes he is. I also noticed that Christiansen looks to have the makings of a hellova guard. They're going to be a force to be reckoned with for the next few years.
  5. Not sure. I didn't realize that Elflein was on IR, I thought Bozeman just got promoted. I obviously have no idea what's going on behind the scenes, but I could see Wilkes, a defensive guy, not wanting to mess around with a O-line that was playing well together going into last week. And Elf hasn't been bad, just kinda blah.
  6. I was going to say this. Bozeman and PJ have been working together since day 1. Smart call from Wilkes.
  7. My brother is a huge steelers fan, so we got tickets to this game. We we're laughing this week because the the only competition is who will suck worse. I think with last night's move we win that contest hands down.
  8. FWIW, per the official depth chart, Shi is listed above all of them: Position 1st 2nd 3rd LWR - DJ Moore Rashard Higgins Laviska Shenault Jr. RWR - Shi Smith Terrace Marshall Jr.
  9. Adding a vet TE through FA would be best case scenario for a rookie QB. Even if that "rookie" is Corral. BTW, I'm not lobbying for NOT drafting a QB.
  10. I agree on CMC. No need to run the crap out of him on a losing season. I also agree with TMJ and Smith, lets see what they got. On the other hand, I see no real rush to test Mays. Corbett's contract all but guarantees he's our RG next season and Mays is on a cheapy cheap contract. There was camp talk about him at center, but no need to fug with an o-line that is finally playing well together by trying to force him into a new position.
  11. I will admit that RA has a point. He can't throw the ball to himself or call the plays. He has (excuse me HAD) reason to be pissed. This in no way lets him off the hook for acting like a little bitch on national TV, which is all Stew said.
  12. I think he's an extension waiting to happen. He's played well and has steadily improved, IMO. At 28, I could see him signing a 3 year extension to keep him around through 2026 and clear up some cap space next year.
  13. So basically, we traded Robbie for Shenault, a 2025 7th, and $690K. I'll take that deal all day long!
  14. Which we'd have been on the hook for anyway when we cut him after the season to save the $12M not-guaranteed. At least this way we get a little something back for him. I'm stoked.
  15. Not official, but... Anderson was traded for a 2024 sixth round draft pick and a 2025 seventh round draft pick, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
  16. TMJ seems to be good at dropping passes.
  17. I would not have. I also had to look up who Cooper Rush was. Mariotta and Jones are solid, back-up caliber QB's. They're all taking advantage of their current situation and winning games. Meanwhile... we grabbed up Darnold and Mayfield who have completely stunk up the field. I admit that even though I was dead against Darnold, I felt Mayfield was a victim of circumstance becuse he played for the frikkin Browns. Boy was I wrong.
  18. I, for one, was shocked at how bad we've become. I honestly thought Sam Darnold was rock bottom.
