The tag will be > $14M, and a long term deal will likely be a lot less for year 1. we need every penny we can scrounge for 2021, after thatwe look to have a lot more wiggle room. especially if we keep nailing the draft. Moton deserves a lucrative contract, and I hope the hold up was because we knew Hurney would be out on his ass after the season.

Samuel was the most fun to watch on offense this season for sure. Dude seemed to always show up when needed. Fun to watch him run too. Favorite player, right this minute, is Chinn. he plays every play with a chip on his shoulder.

I see them both in the 15-25 range (who knows how the draft will go), not top 10. IF we land one of them, I hope we trade back to do do so. that being said...WTF do I know?!? If Rhule and Fritter want one of them at 8, they're not stupid.

hate to admit it, but you have a point. Ring of honor, no doubt, but his career was cut to short (assuming he doesn't have some huge comeback that seems unlikely) for HOF.

Hopefully it means we don’t do something crazy like take them at 8, but maybe with 39/trade up from there. Best case would be Newman showing out and we get him at 39 and get one of the top 2 tackles at 8. I was going to say this. IMO, there are 3 that are obvious, Lawrence, Fields, & Wilson; and 3 others that have 1st round possibilities, Lance Trask and Jones. I think that 1 or 2 of theses later 3 would be there at 39 as well as Newman and Mond (I don't know a great deal about these 2). I'm hopeful about our chances of getting our next long-term QB out of this draft. AND a solid LT.

Holy Poo!! Sterling Shepard was 23, WTF?!? I call BS on ant critique that says Shepard is better than DJ. In fairness, I do like their write up, it sounds like a top 10 receiver (especially considering that the other 2 receivers on the team had > 100 yards from LOS): "Moore notched 11 receptions that resulted in 30 or more yards this season, just one behind the league leader (D.K. Metcalf). Even with Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback, Moore was still able to tie for fifth in total deep receptions with 12. Seven of those 12 were contested deep grabs, the most in the entire NFL."

You can't argue that logic. It's the exact inverse of what Rivera said last year when KB went down. You don't replace the player, you replace the production. I honestly see Ginn's numbers dropping like crazy this season; he's going from #1 receiver (which he was never intended to be) to # 3 (unless Funchess hasn't progressed at all, which is unlikely). We'll likely have several cut receivers in other teams' jerseys this season. How weird is that?

He's also got that whole punt return thing going for him. That helps his chances.

It's hard to find anything not to like about this guy, I just wish he was a little more talented. I'd be very surprised if he weren't the odd man out this year. I wish him a long and prosperous career in the arena league.

OK, I'm in total agreement with Defense with the caveat that Cox may beat out Declaire or Horton. As for offense, there are several battles lining up: Hill vs Garrett (does Norwood or Byrd fight their way onto the roster??) Wegher vs Fozzy Foulcault vs Rigsbee (I know Rigsbee projects as a guard in the NFL, but Ron loves versatility in his back up O-linemen , and frankly Foulcault has shown nothing that would make me believe that he shouldn't have stayed in Canada) Mostly, I'm just happy to be actually talking football, even if it is speculative!

Sounds like a smart kid. Dave said he had a 2nd round grade on him and bradberry, so this should be a nice competition to watch in preseason. Looks like the first point goes to Worley.

He's the draft pick that I'm most excited about. Butler is money in the bank, he never should have been available at 30. The beauty of triple dipping at CB is that certainly 1 of them will work out opposite Bene (even if Sanchez is more of a nickle role, Boykin can slide outside). That leaves Beau! I was big on drafting a TE, first Henry, then Vannett. To get one with so much up side with next to the last pick could be the ultimate steal!
