If he leads SF to say, the NFC Championship or beyond this year, wtf do they do at QB next year??

We've very quietly built one of the top 5 o-lines in the entire NFL. Both pass and run blocking. We have GOT to keep this whole group together.

Hear Hear. They need to make locking him up for the next 4 or 5 years a top priority this off season.

I think before this past week we had a 9% chance to make the playoffs. Now its something like 35%. If we win, and the Bucs lose next week, itll jump up to over 50%.

But thats the thing, we're not really a "bad" team anymore. We're 3-1 over the past 4 games, and seem to be rolling right now. We started off the year historically bad, but I'd say we're actually a pretty decent all around team. But yes, we do still need to sure up the QB position some how. We'd be truly dangerous with even a middle of the pack QB. Someone like Carr or Jimmy G.

Gah, had we not completely poo the bed at the beginning of the season we could be in the drivers seat in the division right now. Some many close losses that this team would win today. Yeah, we're not gonna get a top 3 pick anymore most likely, but it is really good for the team overall to learn how to win and gain some confidence going into next season. We can still get a good QB in the middle of the first. A lot of guys who are stars today were taking outside the top 10.

I mean, its really not crazy to think we could go 4-1 in our last 5 games, finish 8-9 and win the terrible division we find ourselves in. Seattle is the hardest team left on our schedule, and our D is really rolling right now, so I think we can shut Geno Smith down. Now, we also have the very real potential of going 1-4 and continuing this bad season. Gonna be fun to watch down the stretch. The fact that we are 4-8 and still technically in the division title hunt is wild.
