  1. I have a feeling that if Bryce does not start showing 'growth', we will see Dalton in the middle part/end part of the season. This team needs to start learning to win, and the Panthers need to be able to effectively evaluate other positions for the 2025 season. If the Panthers start 0-4, it is going to get ugly but let's hope this does not happen.
  2. Picking top 5 does the Panthers no good. The Panthers had a top 5 pick last year.....and they picked Young.
  3. One of the good things Dan Morgan has brought: Many of the past Panthers players are now coming back to be a part of the Panthers practices and etc. We have not been seeing that the past several years. It is good to see a lot of the Panthers 'greats' hanging around. This is a positive.
  4. is the practice field grass? It sure looks like it. The stadium's field is still turf, which sucks. Grass is another term for Marijuana, or Jazz Cabbage as I liked to call it back in my heyday at the local dispensary.
  5. If Tepper continues to meddle the Panthers will continue to make stupid decisions and continue to be a losing franchise. There have been so many bad decisions made the past 6 years it is really hard to remember all of them. I really hope Morgan stands up to Tepper. How they are handling Young right now makes me wonder if Tepper is really letting his football people make decisions. When Frank was here for a very brief period, he said Tepper was very involved.
  6. Plummer has not looked terrible…some solid passes.
  7. 2002: John Fox was the Panthers first time/first year HC where he inherited a listless Seifart 1-15 squad. I remember him saying that he wanted to win the preseason games to gain confidence and to experience 'how to win'...even with backups. In 2002 the Panthers went to a surprising 7-9 record, and the next year....Super Bowl. Now, Canales inherited a listless 2-15 team that does not know how to win. Playing practice scrimmages did not work for the Sam Darnold led Panthers a few years ago. I would have liked to see the Panthers play Young to get some game time experience in front of a hostile crowd....and gain some confidence before going into the season opener. Young has a lot to prove this year, and sitting him for preseason cannot do anything to improve his situation.
  8. This reminds me of when Sam Darnold did not play much in preseason. Gotta wonder if this is a Tepper thing...
  9. And Young is even smaller than Brees. Brees has a bigger frame and appears to be somewhat taller...and definitely a much bigger arm.
  10. Especially when they could have traded Burns to the Bears instead. And kept DJ....how many WR's have they brought in since they traded DJ and they still have not replaced him.
  11. Every time I see the name Jack Plummer.....I think of Jake Plummer. He is not related but it would great if Jack turned into Jake and we use a good ole QB battle next year.
  12. If Young is not it, having him continue to play just to lose games does the Panthers no good. They already had the number one pick….and they chose Young. The best QB is not always the number one pick.
  13. Another question is will Tepper allow the coaches to make the decision of playing Young or not. Last year we heard stories of coaches wanting to bench Young….and that never happened. But we do know Frank, the QB coach and the RB coach were fired. to answer the original OP question: I think it depends on how the rest of the team looks. If it’s the quarterback holding the team back, I think they pull him. They have to start building a winning culture. This team needs to learn how to win in the NFL. In addition Young needs to learn how to be a leader. I really hope he can overcome what we all saw last year but I have a lot of doubts.
  14. Well the past 5-years that is about all the Panthers roster was….bottom.
  15. 5-12. Bryce Young- hoping for the best but prepared for the worst. I think we could end up seeing a lot of Dalton this year.
  16. It was not only passing on two 1st rounders from the Rams that was a horrible decision….but also trading DJ Moore to the Bears instead of Burns.
  17. Unfortunately The Panthers have bigger problems then RB. Plus I do not think this is a huge surprise.
  18. Tepper is into analytics and fell in love with that. Remember the S2 nonsense. Stroud scored low and Young scored high. Stroud was like “I am not a test taker, I’m a football player”.
  19. This thing is not going to improve soon. The past five years have been brutal for this franchise. The amount of draft pick giveaways and free agent errors and trading our best players away have led to a poor roster . Nobody knows if Morgan and Canales can turn this ship around but one thing I do know that if Tepper continues to meddle and Influences football decisions this team will continue to be the worst in the league.
  20. Already a lot of good answers. I will add a new one….it depends on how our QB plays. I would also say that winning 5-6 games is still a really bad football team.
  21. A joint Practice. Reminds me of Frank Alexander.
  22. The most success this team had in the past 5+ years was when they ran a heavy run offense with Sam Darnold as the QB when Wilks took over. They have to start somewhere and build an identity. They also have to do this to protect Bryce Young. He clearly is not ready to run a pass first offense. I have my doubts about whether or not Bryce is it, but if we run a run heavy offense, we will find out if he be the “point guard”- LOL or not.
  23. Until the Panthers start winning they are going to be ranked last on just about everything. The past 5-years has been that bad. Winning cures and hides a lot of problems. I mean the Teddy Bridgewater led 2020 team was probably the best Panthers team since the Cam era ended and that is really sad
