And to add to this....the Panthers cap situation was left in a horrible situation too. Not only did Fittererer pick the wrong FAs, draft the wrong guys, and made the wrong trades......but he someone left the Panthers cash strapped too and at the same time of having the worst record in the NFL. Truly the worst Panthers GM in the past 30-years, and it is not even close. I still wonder how much of this is due to the Tepper influence. Could a GM really be this bad on his own?

Too early to tell if Morgan and Canales will be successful and bring NFL football back to the Carolinas or not. I think things will be more clear 1 year from now though. By November 2025, they will have had 2 off-seasons, made a decision on the starting QB, improved/or not improved the defense, and improved/or not improved the play makers on offense. If the Panthers still look like bottom dwellers than we all know that Morgan/Canales will be recycled for another duo of test dummies to work under our new beloved owner. There are many glaring needs with this team due to the past 6 years of terrible decisions. Nobody could fix this mess in 1 off-season, and realistically not in 2 off-seasons, but we should at least see some progress.

Yeah - makes us wonder why he was fired....not really. We already know why he was fired.

Trade back sounds good but will there be any team willing to trade up…..that is the key question.

Not a good look for AR, however, at least for the Colts he was not nearly as 'costly' as Bryce was for the Panthers. AR only cost them 1 high draft pick. I try to forget how my draft picks the Panthers spent on Bryce....and we are still paying with a very high 2nd round pick in 2025.

I don't know if Canales is 'it' of not, but I am not confident Tepper would find anyone else that is better. I think most of the 'good ones' would run far away from anything to do with the Panthers. Tepper has a terrible reputation.

I mid-round pick that the Panthers will chose a player that will never contribute to the team. Trading away good players for draft picks only work if you know how to draft....which the Panthers do not. However, the Panthers probably have no choice if DJ no longer wants to be here. Who can blame him.

The wrong people were making the decision and those same people made the decision for the wrong reasons. An owner and wife should not be that involved and have that much influence in making this big of a decision. Sure, they can provide the final 'sign off'......but that is not what happened by all accounts.

Tepper meeting the HC each Monday is a symptom of the problem of him being overall involved in football decisions. He is the reason why the Panthers are the worst team in the NFL and have been terrible ever since he bought the team. The Weekly Meetings are a 'clue' as to what is really going on inside the building.

Payton did the Panthers fans a favor by saying this out loud. Tepper needs to be embarrassed each week.

If I were Tepper I would remove myself from all football decisions going forward.

And this coach was fired because of this along with the QB coach and RB coach. Coincidentally, the QB coach is now in Minnesota working with Sam Darnold who suddenly looks like a real QB.

Tepper accomplished his goal of making sure the Panthers were no longer mediocre. It will take years to become mediocre again. Even outside of the football team/players, he has been terrible. We cannot forget the Rock Hill disaster.

Washington got something last year that played a big role in their turnaround: New Ownership And this is what the Panthers need. Tepper is the root cause of this mess.

Because Tepper will not accept mediocrity. Thomas is a perfect Tepper player because he is not even mediocre.

This is like a preseason game for the Panthers

Kept Darnold and/or kept Mayfield. Either/or are better than what we did.

The Panthers will have to offer draft picks to unload Sanders with his horrible contract.
