He missed DJ WIDE ASS OPEN....that was 6-7 points missed.

A little too much loft on that by PJ helped Carter out. It was a good play by Carter though.

Maybe we can get Luke and Beau to play with Cade and Greg.

Inside the Carolina Panthers' three seasons of quarterback failure
Rocky Davis replied to Vox's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well to be fair, at that moment in time, Trubisky would have been "free" to sign (no trades, etc.) and wouldn't have had a huge price tag. Interesting that Hurney and the scouting department really loved Herbert and hindsight being 20/20 it would have 100% been the right call. I guess Rhule got his way and that not being able to meet in person during the pandemic didn't lend opportunities for the scouting department to really advocate passionately about taking Herbert....although knowing Rhule he wouldn't have listened anyways. Also, who knows how Herbert would have looked on a Rhule coached team...guy probably is counting his blessings for being drafted by the Chargers. -
I understand the difference between a zone read and an RPO, but within an RPO you should have a mobile QB so that the threat of the QB running the ball is still there. Baker and Darnold are, for the most part, strictly going to either hand the ball off to the RB or opt for a pass. Also, neither have been really good about selling the run option for as long as possible a la Cam. PJ does bring a more mobile QB aspect although he is more of a passer than a running threat.

I still think that Mitchell Trubinsky has a chance.

Henderson has made some really poor plays and choices this year, but all those are amplified more than some of the pretty damn good coverage he has had at other times. I actually think he will get better under Wilks and if he'll start thinking about what kind of situation he's in, the clothesline on the receiver in the end zone comes to mind, I think he'll be a truly serviceable CB2. He seems happier here and he has played better than he did with the Jaguars. One thing that bothers me about both CJ and Donte is that they don't seem to create turnover opportunities. I rather see them get burned being aggressive than what I've seen the last couple of years.

PJ played really well against Tampa. I will say that McAdoodoo probably called the best game since he's been here and most likely since 2016. Also, Baker was never suited to run an RPO offense and I have no clue why, again, we tried to fit a square peg in a round hole. Defenses would never honor the "threat" of a Baker run....

Those two goals that were wide open for Svech would have given us the win.....6-5 because we wouldn't have had to pull Freddie. Also, if we were even a bit more disciplined and not gone to the box so much we would have beat Edmonton. Also, we should have beat Calgary too. Kadri took acting lessons in the off season and was "tripped" by Staal's skate laces and then Raanta gave up a terrible goal that tied the score at 2-2. Anyways glad to get 7/10 points, but some really bad luck for the Canes too.

Fitterer wanted Larnel in the late rounds, but Rhule didn't want to waste a pick on him because his fingers weren't long enough for a prototypical OLineman.

Joe Brady, for sure.

Have we seen the LAST of TB12 in Charlotte?
Rocky Davis replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Still say he wanted to play somewhere else this year and came back to finish off his contract with Tampa so he can play one more year where he thinks he can win a SB. -
I don't just dismiss what you post, but we don't know if Fitterer had to try to make deals for Darnold and Henderson because Rhule wanted him to. I guess it's within the realm of possibility that Fitterer could be the mastermind behind these moves, but from the things I've read it seemed like Rhule had final say on these things and Fitterer was a conduit between him and other FOs. Fitterer would let Rhule and Co. know a player was a available for trade and then Rhule and "the brain trust" would decide to either pursue or not. The Darnold thing was probably more a committee type thing than Henderson, although Tepper and Rhule both made that situation arise just by bashing Teddy. The Henderson thing seems more like Rhule really wanting him and asking Fitterer to go get him. In both cases I hope Fitterer made the trades as palatable as possible for the Panthers - just like other signings that I wasn't a big fan of like Donte Jackson and Ian Thomas. I am not saying Fitterer has or will be great, but the moves that have been made since Rhule was shown the door have been pretty damn good, especially the ultimate return on CMAC because it is apparent now we weren't getting a 1st from any team. Do we give Fetterer any credit for the revamped O-Line or the selection of Icky and Horn (who has been great if he can stay on the field)? We can't pick and choose.

Ethan Bear Situation To Be Resolved Soon
Rocky Davis replied to MillionDollarCam's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Yes, but we agree we should get something. Those teams out there saying we only have a little cap space will claim Bear on waivers. We aren't hurting right now not having that roster spot open. Keep him until we get something..... -
Everyone bagging on Brady, but he can't throw the ball and catch it. I don't think he even knew TB would be this bad. I want no part of Leftwich as a HC either.
-
Brady went down easy when he saw Burns coming and I don't blame him. Brady has to be hating himself coming back to this dumpster fire, he's a great QB but he can't win by himself. I almost think he came back because he wants to be able to choose who he plays for next year for one more shot at a title. I may be crazy thinking that, but dude still can ball.
-
Ehhh it depends on what year and where the approximate positions of those two 1st rounders would be. The Eagles 1st rounder for the upcoming draft, plus their own, plus maybe a 3rd or 4th in another year would be interesting. Still hard to pull the trigger because Burns is an elite level pass rusher. Needs to work on the run D, but he's still young and should get better. We have already exercised the 5th year option on Burns and one would think an extension will be hammered out in the off season.

I can't understand how the Canes cannot get SOMETHING for him. I don't just let him walk for nothing. If you've started down this road you stay the course...... -
Canes vs Flames 10pm Puck Drop
Rocky Davis replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Poor PP for that double minor and then a piss poor effort at the end of OT....went to sleep and let them score with under a minute left to go. This team better get it together. They are better than this, but same poo we saw against the Rangers in last year's playoffs starting to show back up.
