  1. If Joe Burrow wins the Super Bowl adding to his Heisman and national title that would be a great feel good storty and a pleasure to watch him accomplish it on tv. Now, if we can just get rid of seeing Peyton Mannings ugly mug on one commercial after the other during NFL games that would be an added plus for me.
  2. It was enjoyable to watch two really good quarterbacks duke it out. Congratulations to Joe Burrows and the winning Bengals.
  3. I really liked this statement that pertained to his Packers career:: "During that time, the Packers had seven Pro Bowl linemen, and had a habit of turning mid- to late-round picks into consistent performers."
  4. It would be beyond foolish for the Panthers to repeat these ineffective actions. One popular formulation presents this point harshly:
  5. If Tom Brady is actually retiring it will mark the end of an era that saw him reigning supreme in the NFL. Tom Brady was the "Greatest Of All Time" and has numerous records to prove it. Brady's 22-year career: * 7X Super Bowl champion * 5X Super Bowl MVP * 3X NFL MVP * 15X Pro Bowl * 6X All Pro * NFL's all time passing TD leader (624) * NFL's all passing yard leader (85,520) * Most career wins: 243
  6. DaCHARLOTTE — The Panthers have found their new special teams coordinator, adding an experienced assistant whose units have performed well in recent years. Carolina Panthers: The team has agreed to terms with former Bears special teams coach Chris Tabor, who brings 14 years of NFL experience to the job. Tabor spent the last four seasons with the Bears, after seven years as the Browns' special teams coach. He was previously an assistant special teams coach with the Bears. Under his watch, the Bears have ranked in the top 10 of longtime NFL writer Rick Gosselin's special teams rankings each of the last two years. The Panthers found some stability last year with kicker Zane Gonzalez (who hit 17 straight field goals prior to his pre-game injury in Buffalo), but he was one of four kickers they used from the start of the preseason. They also cycled through three punters last year. The Panthers ranked 28th in Gosselin's special teams rankings last year
  7. WHAT WE LEARNED: Despite what Rhule initially thought, Christensen can play left tackle in the NFL. And even though Rhule earned criticism for occupying “arms-too-short island,’‘ he may have been right about what is best for Christensen’s future. It’s unlikely he develops into a Pro Bowl-caliber tackle. Combine that with the Panthers’ chances of drafting a blue-chip tackle and it’s clear deploying Christensen at guard best maximizes Carolina’s resources. Playing Christensen beside Moton creates a stonewall right side. Pairing him with Neal or Ekwonu would do the same on the left. Credit Christensen for quickly becoming a reliable starter under questionable circumstances. His growth speaks volumes about his potential next season. 8. Most everyone loves an underdog If there's one thing almost all sports fans have in common, it's that they love to support an underdog, and let me tell you, there is no bigger underdog left in the playoffs than the Cincinnati Bengals. At the beginning of the season, the oddsmakers in Las Vegas gave them nearly a zero percent chance of winning the AFC North -- and is there a number less than zero?
  9. Yet, it appears to most observers that Tepper seems obsessed in obtaining Watson, even it would mean purging the Panthers of an elite player or two and giving up valuable draft choices that would be needed to make the team succeed.
  10. Panthers promote salary cap manager Samir Suleiman JANUARY 26, 2022 BY DARIN GANTT CHARLOTTE — The Panthers have promoted director of player negotiations and salary cap manager Samir Suleiman, rewarding a key member of the front office. Suleiman has been named vice president of football administration. General manager Scott Fitterer said that in this new position, Suleiman would have an expanded role in the budgeting and finance function of the football operation. Suleiman, 46, has been on a number of lists in recent years as a potential NFL general manager candidate. He came to the Panthers after eight years with the Steelers, and has also worked for the Rams and Jaguars. “Samir’s been instrumental for us over the past year,” Fitterer said. “From signing Haason Reddick and other free agents last offseason, he’s done a great job for us. We rely on him and his ability to manage the salary cap every day, and he’s a big part of what we do here.” The Panthers have leaned toward shorter-term contracts in the last year, offering cap flexibility as they restock the roster around young players. Fitterer said that Suleiman could also help the front office in player evaluation. His experience in free agency from years of negotiating contracts helps them consider value in the market, and which moves they can make.
  11. It would if the Panthers (a big if) could unload Darnold along with most of his present contract.
  12. One option at QB could be Mitchell Trubisky who is currently serving as backup, but he will be a free agent this offseason. Perhaps he’d be motivated by the chance to become a starter again. He did lead the Bears to the playoffs in two of his four seasons as the starter. Something that often gets overlooked in the grand scheme of things. Through four years, Trubisky accumulated more than 10,000 passing yards along with 64 touchdown passes. He also poses a threat to make some plays running, as he had more than 1,000 yards on the ground and 8 touchdowns while a member of the Bears. Sitting behind Josh Allen on the Buffalo Bills this season was needed. But whether the Panthers want to take on another reclamation project is another matter.
  13. To their credit, the NFL is making attempts at providing a greater level of psychological support by requiring each team to hire a part-time mental health provider for a minimum of 12 hours a week during the season.
  14. Under Payton's watch, the Saints were always considered to be contenders, and even fought until the end of their first season without Brees before being eliminated from postseason contention with a 9-8 record. With a rebuild possible and uncertainty guaranteed under center, Payton isn't sticking around for the changes. Filling his shoes will be incredibly difficult for general manager Mickey Loomis, who hasn't had to hire a full-time head coach since firing Jim Haslett after the 2005 season.
  15. I would love to see the Panthers trade injury ridden McCaffrey for more much needed draft choices.
  16. The Panthers will likely have new faces a right guard, left guard, left tackle, center will all likely have new faces in 2022 Brady Christensen will start at either left tackle or left guard and Taylor Moton will again start at right tackle, but outside of that, the Panthers will address other positions in the draft or free agency. The Panthers can address their most pressing need in the offensive line and still get great value with the 6th pick. Cross is ranked in the top 10 by most draft experts. Alabama’s Evan Neal and N.C. State’s Ikem Ekwonu are others mentioned as top options at left tackle, so one of them should be available..
  17. Plus, the Saints will probably lose their head coach, so New Orleans is out.
  18. Exactly. It came very close to being a choke job by the Rams.
  19. I wonder how often other players yell or curse at the officials and get away with it ? Still,i it doesn't seem like behavior befitting a player of Tom Brady's stature to do it and to me it makes him appear as the biggest whiney baby in modern day NFL.
  20. I feel that QB Malil Willis,Liberty, fits the profile of the modern day NFL QB so my choice would be him. Malik Willis, Liberty Strengths: Massive arm that will be among the top 10 arms in the NFL upon his arrival to the league. Supreme athletic gifts. Will be a serious threat in the designed run game and has a flair for the dramatic as an improviser. Has the body of a tall running back and runs like that. Will run past some slower linebackers. From a clean pocket, his accuracy is very good. Zip, touch, placement are almost always on point in that scenario. Very capable throwing on the run. Wants to hit the big-time throw often. Weaknesses: Not a deft coverage-reader. Can get baited by secondary members into interceptions. Aggression that leads to big plays also gets him into trouble at times. Pocket presence needs work. Stylistic NFL comparison: Smaller Josh Allen
  21. If i had to pick one team that Rodgers goes to it would be the New Orlean Saints. It just makes too much sense. They have a top 3 defense, great coach, great offensive weapons. One safe bet is that he will not be coming here to play quarterback for the Carolina Panthers.
  22. With the refs walking with them. They're probably going to address the team and say something like, "Sorry, guys, we tried to work some magic for you. We'll try better next time.
  23. Tom Brady and his gang now share some of the same feeling Panthers fans feel after losing to them.
