  1. Something had to give because Brady’s offense wasn’t sustainable He didn’t evolve quickly enough and NFL defensive coordinators caught up. The Panthers’ offense ranks 29th in Football Outsiders DVOA metric, which measures efficiency against league averages. Only the Lions, Falcons and Texans are worse. Over the past four games, they have scored seven touchdowns. The Panthers averages just 19.7 points per game, are 28th in yards (300.8) and 22nd in red-zone touchdown percentage. If an offense isn’t gaining yards between the 20s, scoring red-zone touchdowns or generating points then something must change. Rhule pulled the plug on his 18-month Brady experiment for all those reasons. Read more at: https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article256355367.html#storylink=cpy
  2. There is no doubting that Ben Roethlisberger has one of the best in the NFL for such a long time. Salute!!
  3. Dave Tepper will not be tossing a football for the Panthers next year but he may be tossing some of their inept coaches off the team.
  4. If i remember correctly, the knock on Heinicke when he was here was that he was a little frail and injury prone. Hindsight is always 20/20 but it appears the Panthers made another mistake letting him go.
  5. Until the Panthers get a decent offensive line any QB will look bad. We have people on the Huddle claiming Cam Newton is great and Sam Darnold is terrible, the truth lies somewhere in between.
  6. Cole Cubelic @colecubelic Odds to be the next Notre Dame Head Coach per @betonline_ag : Marcus Freeman 2/3 Luke Fickell 7/4 Matt Campbell 4/1 Urban Meyer 7/1 Matt Rhule 12/1 Bob Stoops 20/1 Lane Kiffin 20/1 Dave Aranda 25/1 Ed Orgeron 25/1 Pat Fitzgerald 25/1 Dave Clawson 33/1
  7. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-carolina-panthers-offensive-line-sam-darnold Monson: The Carolina Panthers offensive line is in danger of derailing the Sam Darnold reclamation project I ran across this June2021 article pertaining to Sam Darnold and the Panthers inept offensive line and the mess he could be heading into at the time. I thought it interesting reading . Please clink on link to view.
  8. Yes,that was a nice Sweater. I have to hand it to Tepper for caring enough to have a beautiful tree lighting and taking a cruise in Sir Purr's CAT CRuISER.
  9. Clean house by sending this group back to the college ranks where they belong. Tepper needs to start hiring people that have a vast amount of NFL experience.
  10. If Rhule needs help moving i will be more than glad to lend a hand. I feel sure a lot more on the Huddle would be willing to help as well.
  11. Not going to happen. If that is what he wants, he may end up disappointed.
  12. Keep Gilmore, let Jackson walk and get a 3rd comp for him next year. There is no way we can afford both, plus we have good depth at CB.
  13. Will we be eligible for any type compensation if we chose not to resign Donte Jackson?
  14. It is a no brainer the Panthers made a big,big mistake when they made him the highest-paid running back in NFL history in April 2020, signing him to a four-year, $64 million contract extension with a contract that runs through the 2025 season. Now the team is going to pay the price for their mistake.
  15. Yes,that was a real smart move by our brain (brainless) trust.
  16. My guess is that Rhule will have at least one more year here in Carolina but considering that Tepper is the teams owner, I would not bet money either way that he goes or stays.
  17. Reflecting back in time to the 2015-16 season, we all remember how Cam went was how the Carolina Panthers went that year. When he was playing right and dancing and celebrating with his teammates and was healthy, he could win games but he couldn't change the way he played after that as teams began hitting him and planning for his runs to the point where he was calling for officials to get some of the calls. Some of it fell on Cam himself, there comes a time where you have to adjust to moving and working within the pocket instead of tucking and running, Steve McNair for example ran less and less as his career progressed and a lot of these scrambling quarterbacks now will have to make that difficult transition.
  18. It is hard for any team to win when the offensive line is called by the officials for holding on good blocks every momentum play The Panthers were not just playing the Dolphin defense and offense today.
  19. Cam finished completing 5 of 21 passes for 92 yards with two interceptions and no touchdowns through the air. His second pick set the Dolphins up with a nine-yard field that they converted into a 14-7 lead with a Tagovailoa touchdown pass to Jaylen Waddle. Per the NFL, Newton's 23.8% completion rate was the worst for a quarterback with at least 20 attempts since Joey Harrington's 5-for-22 effort for the Detroit Lions in 2004.
  20. Rhule made clear after the game that Cam Newton remains Carolina's starting quarterback despite being pulled in the fourth quarter. He told reporters that he made the switch late because Newton's protection wasn't holding up and that he believed Walker stood a better chance in a hurry-up offense because he knows the 2-minute playbook.
  21. Bingo!!! You are 100% correct!! When the Dolphins were shown holding or blocking in the back and nothing called the cameras quickly turned the other way. The announcers commented on the bad calls but they are limited on the amount they can be critical toward officials.
  22. One of the main reasons New England stays on top regardless of who they have at QB is good coaches to develop the team each year and the ability to keep the players focused to play at a high level each week.
  23. I am not saying it cost us the game because there is lots of blame to go around but the whole game was called poorly and one sided. The bad calls were slanted toward the Panthers and hurt them when it mattered most. I would like to think NFL games are called fairly but games called like this make me have doubts.
