  1. I agree. If we are hell bent on taking a QB at #6 i would rather have Willis. He may not be a day one starter but it appears he has a tremendous upside. Drafting Willis would require patience, something the present Panthers organization seems to lack. It would be sad if they passed on him attemping to get a QB to start right off and he became a star in the league a few years later.
  2. I stand corrected. You are are probably right..
  3. Correct. Steve Smith will be our first drafted player select to the HOF.
  4. 1 Evan Neal OT 2 Ikem Ekem Ekwonu OT 3 Charles Gross OT 4 Trevor Penning OT 5 Tyler Smith OT 6 Tyler Linderbaum Center
  5. https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/scott-fowler/article258007778.html It is great to see Sam Mills finally receive this well deserved high honor.
  6. The fact that Thomas Fletcher was placed on season-ending injured reserve on August 31, 2021 with a hip injury was probably the deciding factor in resigning JJ Jansen to a one year contract..
  7. Kamara's defense: "I was just standing there minding my own business when this stranger came up all of a sudden and ran into my fist, not once but 10 or 12 times."
  8. Are you basing your assumption that Alvin Kamara "is a pretty chill likable dude" because you know him personally or are you just guessing?
  9. Just read this forum and you will soon realize the Panthers fanbase as a whole will not be pleased no matter who is picked. Thankfully, the choice will not be left up to them to decide.
  10. This is a massive draft for Matt Rhule, who might have to make the playoffs in 2022 to keep his job. Fitterer and the Panthers could do a lot of things with the #6 pick, take a quarterback, an offensive tackle, best player available, or possibly even trade out of it and accumulate more picks in return. In my opinion, the most popular and most obvious thing for the Panthers to do would be to take an offensive tackle now and a quarterback nex year.. One or more of the top rated offensive tackles,Evan Neal, Ikem Ekwonu or Charles Cross should be available when the Panthers pick.
  11. Pickett's agent places add on E Bay: "Wanted one slightly used hand strecher".
  12. Tom Brady retires as the player with the most Super Bowls in NFL history and an assured spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame as soon as he's eligible for enshrinement in five years. Brady also leaves the NFL unlike many older players — his play didn't drop off as he aged. Brady was 485-of-719 passing for 5,319 yards and 43 touchdowns in 2021. He led the NFL in completions, attempts, yards and TDs this season and will likely finish in the top two of NFL MVP voting with Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. If Brady wins the MVP award, he’ll finish his career as a four-time MVP. Brady is currently tied with Rodgers, Jim Brown and Johnny Unitas at three. Only Peyton Manning (5) has more MVPs. Brady retires as the NFL's all-time leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns, quarterback wins in both the regular and postseason, Super Bowl appearances (10) and Super Bowl victories (7).
  13. I had all but forgotten about this Peyton Manning escapade and at the time never reached a conclusion whether Manning was guilty or innocent. However, there has always been something about his smug attitude and arrogant nature that turns me off, causing me to dislike him. Peyton and his mild mannered acting brother Eli, seem total opposite in their demeanor,
  14. Joe Burrow and Matthew Stafford. For only the second time ever, two former No. 1 overall picks will face off in the Super Bowl (only other time was Peyton Manning and Cam Newton in 2016).
  15. If Joe Burrow wins the Super Bowl adding to his Heisman and national title that would be a great feel good storty and a pleasure to watch him accomplish it on tv. Now, if we can just get rid of seeing Peyton Mannings ugly mug on one commercial after the other during NFL games that would be an added plus for me.
  16. It was enjoyable to watch two really good quarterbacks duke it out. Congratulations to Joe Burrows and the winning Bengals.
  17. I really liked this statement that pertained to his Packers career:: "During that time, the Packers had seven Pro Bowl linemen, and had a habit of turning mid- to late-round picks into consistent performers."
  18. It would be beyond foolish for the Panthers to repeat these ineffective actions. One popular formulation presents this point harshly:
  19. If Tom Brady is actually retiring it will mark the end of an era that saw him reigning supreme in the NFL. Tom Brady was the "Greatest Of All Time" and has numerous records to prove it. Brady's 22-year career: * 7X Super Bowl champion * 5X Super Bowl MVP * 3X NFL MVP * 15X Pro Bowl * 6X All Pro * NFL's all time passing TD leader (624) * NFL's all passing yard leader (85,520) * Most career wins: 243
  20. DaCHARLOTTE — The Panthers have found their new special teams coordinator, adding an experienced assistant whose units have performed well in recent years. Carolina Panthers: The team has agreed to terms with former Bears special teams coach Chris Tabor, who brings 14 years of NFL experience to the job. Tabor spent the last four seasons with the Bears, after seven years as the Browns' special teams coach. He was previously an assistant special teams coach with the Bears. Under his watch, the Bears have ranked in the top 10 of longtime NFL writer Rick Gosselin's special teams rankings each of the last two years. The Panthers found some stability last year with kicker Zane Gonzalez (who hit 17 straight field goals prior to his pre-game injury in Buffalo), but he was one of four kickers they used from the start of the preseason. They also cycled through three punters last year. The Panthers ranked 28th in Gosselin's special teams rankings last year
  21. WHAT WE LEARNED: Despite what Rhule initially thought, Christensen can play left tackle in the NFL. And even though Rhule earned criticism for occupying “arms-too-short island,’‘ he may have been right about what is best for Christensen’s future. It’s unlikely he develops into a Pro Bowl-caliber tackle. Combine that with the Panthers’ chances of drafting a blue-chip tackle and it’s clear deploying Christensen at guard best maximizes Carolina’s resources. Playing Christensen beside Moton creates a stonewall right side. Pairing him with Neal or Ekwonu would do the same on the left. Credit Christensen for quickly becoming a reliable starter under questionable circumstances. His growth speaks volumes about his potential next season. 22. Most everyone loves an underdog If there's one thing almost all sports fans have in common, it's that they love to support an underdog, and let me tell you, there is no bigger underdog left in the playoffs than the Cincinnati Bengals. At the beginning of the season, the oddsmakers in Las Vegas gave them nearly a zero percent chance of winning the AFC North -- and is there a number less than zero?
  23. Yet, it appears to most observers that Tepper seems obsessed in obtaining Watson, even it would mean purging the Panthers of an elite player or two and giving up valuable draft choices that would be needed to make the team succeed.
