  1. I don't feel the first two weeks can really cause anyone to drastically change their opinions yet. Outside of maybe not thinking we have the worst OL in the entire NFL if that was a belief coming in. But I still have us at 7 to 9 wins lead by a very promising and emerging defense. Which is where I had us before week 1. We have only proven to date we can beat bad teams. Weeks 4-6 we will face competition that will answer legit questions IMO that still exist.
  2. Yeah, I separate sneaks into their own category. I mean Tom Brady might be right there with Cam in terms of getting that one yard. But Brady isn’t part of a rush game.
  3. Yeah, weird turnover juju in general though. It’s always been all over the map. Fumbles and picks. He averaged a turnover per game at USC, NY and now Carolina. And his two here have been weird and ugly. I simply don’t see the need to insert him into the rushing game given that juju. We have the best RB in the NFL. Hand it off to him. I mean, scramble and take a lane if it presents itself….but I’m not looking to see a lot of called Darnold runs
  4. No complaints about Sunday. He went 6 for 8 on the intermediate routes with a TD I believe. That’s what you got to be able to do.
  5. No thanks. Just handed it to CMC. That's what he we pay him to do. Sam Darnold still has a really weird turnover juju. From college to pros. If he plays a football game, he turns it over. I don't want to intentionally work him in as a rusher at this stage. college - 27 games - 36 turnovers nfl 40 games - 42 turnovers. Including 1 in each game for the Panthers. That's just weird stuff.
  6. not sure on this year. I pulled that stat from an article. Lot of yards came from the slot last year. Samuel had a lot there too. but there is the CMC skew factor of last year vs this year. So CMC is going to eat into probably everyone's production minus DJ I would think.
  7. DJ will have success no matter where he lines up IMO. I think you have to scheme Robby open more so than the other guys. His thin frame isn't going to allow him to make the same contested catches some other guys can make. Probably will take a couple weeks to figure out where to align everyone. Brady really isn't even use to having his best weapon in CMC yet either. Lot new parts for Brady. CMC, Arnold, Marshall. Loss of Samuel. Will probably take a couple weeks.
  8. I mean, props on the avatar. I don't know how long you have had that up....but that is pretty funny.
  9. well, I always thought we should of waited to see what this season looked like before extending Robby. But that's come and gone. But right now Robby is 4th in receptions. Currently Sam is completing the pass 44% of the time when targeting Robby. Lot of factors go into that obviously. But currently DJ is at 73%, CMC at 93%, Marshall at 66%, Arnold at 71% when targeted. Something to watch as the season goes on. *in NY Sam completed the pass to Robby on 53% of his targeted throws.
  10. I think Marshall's ideal spot is occupied by Robby. But that is also Robby's ideal spot.
  11. and a lot of that has been because of Tyrod Taylor. If Taylor was playing, they might of given us our best challenge to date.
  12. Which doesn’t include the guys they placed on IR and are out for 3 weeks. Starting DE and LB.
  13. Well, I think the opening 3 games of our schedule is what it is. Kinda hard to get butthurt if that gets pointed out. But you play who you play. Everyone gets weak opponents. We just have ours lumped together. weeks 4-6 will be where we have the chance to show the nation if we are legit or not.
  14. Sam played a great game today. The Dallas, Philly, Minny stretch will tell us if we should get excited or not IMO
  15. No doubt they will likely want to... but I doubt their will be the prospects in the next draft to accommodate all the teams that will want to draft a first round caliber QB. Probably 11 teams or so could be in the market to snag a QB high.
  16. He got fired. Petrino, Saban, Spurrier, quit to go back to college.
  17. Falcons were furious at Petrino. They just couldn’t do anything about it.
  18. Wonder what the Jags ended paying Urban….can’t find his NFL deal anywhere
  19. If I had to guess, Kirk when he made that guess he assumed Rhule’s salary…and didn’t know what Tepper opted to pay Rhule. Could of assumed he was making 3-4 mill in Carolina.
  20. Yeah, that was just facts in response to someone saying Matt Rhule doesn’t seem like the type to start something and leave. so again, Matt Rhule signed a deal to coach Baylor until 2028. 4 months later he signed a deal with the Panthers. Matt Rhule will do what is best for Matt Rhule. It’s what people do. I don’t think the USC job would be better for him right now. So I don’t see him leaving. But he could hit a window after this year….where he realizes what he does works better at the college ranks and dips before he establishes himself as a meh NFL coach.
  21. Matt Rhule signed an extension to coach Baylor through 2028….4 months later he signed a deal with the Panthers Matt Rhule will do what is best for Matt Rhule. That ain’t hate either. That just the reality of it. If he bails on Carolina it would mean he didn’t have confidence in where things would be headed for him here. Because a USC move wouldn’t be about pay in the near future.
  22. Do we actually know the details of his contract? Petrino had a 5 year deal with the Falcons and went to Arkansas after 13 games. Arkansas didn’t buyout that contract. I think those crazy buyouts are in college sports. right now per year he makes close to Saban, Dabo money. So USC I would think would have to make him the highest paid coach in all of college football…..which seems unlikely.
