  1. Well we have the highest paid RB in the NFL. Are adding JAGs and bust at QB and investing the D. I call that being built around a RB.
  2. But that wouldn’t be hard to go into a season and not want your rookie RB you are developing be your featured RB. You Named a bunch of teams that easily put backfields together that get the job done. Bucs, Rams, etc, I don’t know what Rhule’s goal is he is building toward on O. Presently we are built around a RB.
  3. they all play with good QBs and good OLs. Fournette a top RB? Or does now just play in a place RBs thrive. it’s silly to build around Henry and CMC. They get hurt and you are screwed. Rams, Bucs, Dallas, all keep rolling with a RB injury. There are a lot of legit runners in the NFL if they are setup for success. There aren’t many that can what Henry and CMC do.
  4. two 2x all ACC? Did you get a shot in the NFL?
  5. You don’t need a top RB. If you have a good QB and OL….you simply will have a run as a byproduct. League is full of guys that can run the ball.
  6. bet CMC is just itching to get back on the field and take a comical load for Carolina after hearing this leak out.
  7. 24 starts at USC - 22 INTs, 21 fumbles Almost a guarantee he would throw a pick and put the ball on the ground every time he took the field.
  8. maybe Rhule should of let his OC and not his DC pick our QB this year too.
  9. "There was happiness. A few losses later. This place is up in arms." You literally didn't type it out. You implied it. You can think anything you want. But if you post your opinion on something, you should be able to handle that a certain percetnage will agree and disagree. You can think Clausen was owed a second season. You post it here, people will respond with their own opinion of the statement. That is one of the primary funcitons of the message board. Sam is very likeable. He has proven for 4 straight seasons he isn't a starting QB though.
  10. No, you were implying the huddle was overeacting and changing course to quick on Sam. I was reminding you that everyone doesn't fall into that narrative. Sam Darnold has been Sam Darnold his entire QB career. Same flawed QB essentially from USC to Carolina.
  11. there is no turning anything around. I wasn't part of the playoff/MVP crowd. Sam has basically been Sam the entire time he has been here. I've been pretty consistent about that.
  12. and Sam was still making a lot of really dumb and bad plays during that 3-0 run vs weak comp. Some wouldn't acknowledge that. Even guys in the media who really knew the Jets like Mike Greeney were like, yeah, it is looking better and it nice to get exited...but a lot of what makes Sam bad is still there and on display during the 3-0 run.
  13. Well, one of the primary knock on Sam has always been his inablity to see the field. There is lots and lots and lots of legit reporting on that from NFL coaches. and did you watch this week with Chris Simms breaking it down for you. Like literally walking you through how clueless Sam is when it comes to seeing the field and knowing where to go? Explain that. That can't be blamed on a OL. That can't be blamed on playcalls. The play says to go X because the defense does Y. Sam doesn't look X. It's QB 101. Sam isn't a QB from the neck up. Just the neck down.
  14. put Sam in Dallas and he still cant' read a field though. So it largely would just be the Dallas machine doing what it does. They become super run heavy. Sam just checking down. Meanwhile, Dak would be down here doing what Dak does. Dak can read the field. Dak can get the ball out quick. We saw last year that can work. But unlike Teddy, Dak would then bring everything Teddy lacked. He would be making all those plays downfield. What team would have a better record? Don't know. Which QB would be better? Dak. And it's not hard. Dak can play QB in the NFL.
  15. has a coach ever been asked about other jobs/opportunies and claimed he was committed to his present job...and then left? I tend to think I might heard of that happening maybe once...or maybe a million times. non-story for me. Rhule said what any coach would say in that spot. Regardless of what they were or weren't thinking about.
  16. there is some pretty damning breakdowns of Sam this week simply not even knowing where to go with the ball this week. Just QB 101 stuff that can't be explained away by having a weak OL or saying Brady's calls are bad. when all those NFL folks say Sam can't see the field. That is what they have been talking about for years. OL talent and playcalling don't help that. That is just a QB imploding an offense.
  17. we all know Matt Rhule code by this point. If he says up, then it means down!
  18. aren't they both on 3 game losing streaks and committing a bunch of turnovers?
  19. well, if you think if he went to Dallas he would then play better than Dak....wouldn't that mean he is a better QB than Dak? I mean, Tom Brady is going to have better results in Tampa than being on the Jets right now. Nothing changes about Tom Brady's QB ability. The results of him in NY would be poor. He probably goes to the Super Bowl with Tampa.
  20. So then Sam is a better QB than Dak. That is what that would mean.
  21. None of these guys meet the criteria being discussed, none of those guys busted out horrifically as staters in the NFL and then immediately were made the man elsewhere. Plenty of people have failed....and then worked to get better, fix their game and THEN got second chances in the NFL. Favre had 4 pass attempts in his career and never started a game with his first team, Young went sat for years and years behind a HOF QB before being given chance #2, Jake and Kurt both went overseas before being able to earn a chance and were never 1st round busts to begin with.
  22. David Carr was at least brought in as a backup QB with the thought of working on him behind the scenes to see if he could be fixed. Injury thrust him into the lineup. I mean literally no one has ever taken a complete bust and failure and immediate made him the guy willingly like Rhule did.
  23. A lot of time what Sam is staring down.....isn't actually the primary read though. The defense actually dicatates often what the read primary read becomes. Or it should in theory when your QB isn't Darnold. That is what the ex-QBs have been pointing out Darnold does so poorly. Just becaue Darnold locks onto someone right away, that doesn't mean that is where the play actually sets up and he is suppose to be looking.
