That is a little simplistic. These guys are all about the competitiveness so letting them take a shot and keeping it until they lose it is the more likely and appropriate approach IMO. Yours is fair from a logical approach but it would also undermine good play and them actually earning anything this year.
-
I think so or it's what I am expecting to see which is why I was like WTF feels the need to rush it after Baker's performance and PJ injured? If it's not the next game then it would be the one after would also be my guess. Unfortunately the season doesn't end soon so there is way too many games left for everyone to get a turn or two.

That would be pretty damn funny but even at his best he is just not good enough to pull off perfection, none of them are. Everyone should get a chance, it's just not that hard. Audition and evaluate. Anyone not doing that needs to just be fired now because they are getting in the way of the only purpose of the rest of this season. The timing just has me curious. It's a dumb call until Monday IMO because Baker already earned this start with PJ out from his backup performance. Monday is the likely point I expected to hear about Sam getting his chance soon anyways, that's if he isn't subbed in on Sunday before then.

That would be at best a really late round comp pick that would likely not go anywhere with a new staff coming in and brining a few outside guys to remake the team as they desire. I can't imagine either one signing a substantial contract at this point. A short prove it deal that is easy to get out of? Sure but nothing major.

Unless Friterer has to prove Sam isn't a massive bust then he is best to pretend that was Rhule thing and just do business as normal so next man up. It just sounds like there is more going on behind the scenes then we know. I sure hope so because if any of those people are getting comfy at this point just sounds like we are better off without them next year.

I get the fans, they want their guy to be the one to win the spot. I don't know why they still have a guy after what we have all seen but whatever, SSDD. Coming from within the organization is concerning to me. Coaches friction or front office people that are tied to personel moves? Wilks was critical of Snow and that worked real well for him so are other people doing the same now? Having an internal knife fight isn't going to make the mess smaller to clean up at the end of the year. This is just an odd week to throw out a 'Don't forget about Sam' message whenBaker is getting his after subbing in well as a backup...what we both agree we should be evaluating these 3 on the rest of the year.

I have zero belief he will look good but why wouldn't we given the situation? It is the only thing we can do the rest of the year unless one can make a case to keep the gig until January. It is still a weird time for people in house to start pounding the table for Sam to have another chance given that Baker is about to have his this week and we could still end up seeing Sam anyways. The stress of the situation is getting to a lot of people and not just around this place.

I'm thankful for Horns play and just hope for the best on his availability which is my only issue at this point. The rest can be summed up with the fact that if we traded Horn for Fields we would have to add a lot more to make it happen. But whatever, maybe somebody learned something or maybe we will have new somebodys that want to win and not just collect talented players. QB is #1 and it's a big gap to every other position.

He looks like the Pillsbury Doughboy's dad who forced himself on a freshly popped roll of biscuts resulting in that tragic but delicious little demon that giggles when you finger him in his belly.
-
I just don't get why anyone wouldn't expect to see him sooner than later now that he is healthy so why be vocal about it before Baker gets his shot this week? We could end up seeing both in this game so why make any noise about Sam for another week? Part of me hopes its McAdoo but to be fair that is the chaotic neutral part of me not wanting most of this staff around past game 17.

I'm fine with fans cheering for loses in a season like this, I'm not when it comes from coaches and players. I'm more concerned with getting more draft picks than I am where we are picking yet and neither is going to matter for a couple of months anyways.

How could a billionaire with a kids bowl cut get into a situation like this? Lolz...in Vages with a new expensive stadium. I don't feel one bit of pity for anyone dumb enough to hire McDanials as a HC with his history.

from Darin's mailbag re: the 2002 top 3 picks in the draft
Waldo replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL except owner profits at this point. I want the right QB, not the 'experts' ranked next up BS. Get a new staff and be realistic about the prospects. Most are not perfect and the best ones usually end up on really bad teams. As long as we avoid trading up on a mega deal then we always have next year to try again. -
Fug the money, he earned it by fooling a billionaire out of his cash. 3 wasted seasons for a man I don't even respect outside of football? I don't wish him well, I wish his opponents well.

Snow runs a good college D and likes quality physical traits. No worries on that side. The other side I would be very skeptical of those players.

Peters bowed out of our GM search. It happens but others will take any job that is a promotion. It all depends and unless we are operating under the traditional GM/HC structure than it keeps the worst away and be more about pairing those 2. Good pairings bring the best out and bad ones bring absolute crap to the table. I just want to see a HC who is a football junky and strategist. Offensively minded would be the most stable longterm.
-
It would be hilarious. I'm definitely currious and that is a trainwreck worth peaking over once in a while for laughs. i would be shocked if he could pull off his schtick at a school like than and not a mid teir team.

No QB played well under Rhule. They all played their worst actually. Cam came back and subbed in for a win and then Rhule found a way to ruin even that so no, not under Rhule. He was never qualified to coach at the NFL level and meh even at the school level, mostly on the back of Snow's D. If Rhule had a superpower it would be making anything good worse. Just look at Chinn.

It's sad but you can see even the fans having a hard time with that one. But Rhule! Using a guy who shouldn't have had an interview for a HC job in the NFL is just sad (I still don't know how he got to be a hot name by doing nothing impressive at an easier level). Most just want to return to the safe space of being a competent loser. Le sigh
