If it was 'Watson or bust' before prodays are done we have much bigger problems. I don't mind the looking but we should wait until we address the Teddy scenario. Once we make the first move then the dominoes start falling. Why put ourselves in a corner over a backup level QB?

Sunday Ticket is dead. Long live Sunday Ticket

I think it's great they yanked it from Direct TV but I'm not giving anything to ESPN. They still have the David Newton as our team reporter. Fug them -
Man if we are going Turdbustky then why not another rando? I get the 'maybe we can make it work' aspect but I don't see a reason to jump yet. There will be some vet available post draft. Plus once we pick up a QB we won't get jack for Teddy. I'm hoping a 5th is out there somewhere but I'm more than happy with a flat cut.
-
At least we can draft another QB in 2022 but gawd both are dark options for us.
-
Meh, this is post draft garbage diving kind of signing. No reason to do this now.
-
We did hire a GM who is supposed to be a draft expert...maybe go with our strengths at this time? I'm with you, Tepper pulls this trigger and he is a fugging Jones level moron owner playing with his billion dollar toy.
-
As long as he is cheap, good job filling the 90 man roster.
-
Just fugging draft one. I don't want to see us paying Watson prices for a 30+ QB who wants personal input and top pay. Pass!
-
As long as he is dirt cheap, whatevers. I am guessing we are going pass rush pressure heavy to take strain off of the DBs anyways this year. If we don't hit paydirt in the 3rd or later it will be next year before we inject a high pick or free agent starter at CB. Hopefully Jackson plays his heart out, we let him go get paid elsewhere for a comp pick and get a guy early that is 6'2" with speed mold Rhule and Snow are into, me makes three.

So 6 possible victims, some who live in separate states are all being represented by a lawyer who drunk tweets and is personal friends with the Texans owner? Who finds more possible victims a day after drunk tweeting? JFC what a mess. Either way, Watson has a lot on his hands and football is not one of them for now.
-
His credibility is incredibly suspect.
-
If Buzbee is the only lawyer involved this remains highly suspect. If the accusers are represented by multiple lawyers involved, you know with actual credibility, then Watson looks to been in serious trouble. Either way he has to work on this mess now and it's doubtful he is a legitimate peice we can build around right now. As the facts come in these cases we will know what Watson is looking at future wise. It is sounding more and more serious.
-
That's my dream scenario as we stand.
-
QB in the 1st and a LT in the 2nd. Maybe if we haven't made some of the moves we have already, plus no idea what he is looking for in a new contract.
-
I get you. I thought that if it involved a reputable, non drunk tweeting lawyer without connections then it's serious. Before it completely looked like a probable retaliation shakedown.
-
It certainly does. Thanks for the update.

Watson was battle tested and he still only pulled off 4 wins last year with ridiculous numbers. Great QB isn't enough. IF it goes bad for Urban, he can just break contract and go get paid a giant contract somewhere he can control everything like they do at that level.
-
Baker was blah until they hired Berry and he did the impossible, stabilized the freaking Browns. Now they are actually winning and using the talent they have acquired by constantly picking top 3 for a decade. Allen was developed by a very good coaching staff, they have spent years building that team up. I see Urban as a big time college guy, I just don't think he has what it takes to kill it in the NFL. Combined with the mess that is the Jags, that sir is fine entertainment incoming. Just my opinion of course.
-
So now there is 4 accusers? All from the same lawyer?
-
Maybe. I don't buy it. Urban seems more like a Saban/Kelly college guy then a Carroll to me. The Jags have been defunct since their owner bought them. It has the makings of a trainwreck even with a stable QB.
-
I'm happy for the dude to get his money, I just wish he went somewhere that would know how to use him. Ron didn't do that well with him at all.
-
Good get for Rhule and Snow at a good price. He has been wasted in Arizone, he is going to explode here and get expensive quickly.
-
If we trade for Watson and fug up in free agency with the holes we would have at best of draft picks lost then that would require another turn around. Look I hope it works and we don't do a ridiculous deal and get a great QB. Yeah Houston had winning seasons but they also were weak as hell in the playoffs for years and then started making really bad decisions that resulted in 4 wins with a good QB. I hope it's better but the fact is it is possible it gets worse. All we can do is see how it shakes down, there are zero guarantees that are not in contracts.
-
There is a chance we could be tho. The range of possibilities actually has a chunk which consists of worse than the last 5 years. Again look at the Jags and Jets. If we fug up we could end up in a couple of years of cleanup before we talk turnaround. I would use the Texans as an example of how bad it can get but they are special bad right now.
-
Bucs have been smarter about free agency lately, they won big on the Brady bet. Aranus learned a lot in the league from past mistakes over the years I guess. Hell I didn't think Brady had enough to make it through the year. The Jags spend tons and piss it all away while picking top 5 every year. It's been incredible. Jets up their too. Miami gets a nod.
