  1. They have done a mediocre job in recent years. We have been a dumpster fire of roster building. Without Wilson, they look like the current Panthers. Good Wrs, no oline and a D with positives. The QB is the difference. Just not impressed with emulating. People emulating the pats have ended up in failures all over the league for years.
  2. They went 12-4 and couldn't make it out of the wild card round. They are soft as hell and have drafted like crap. Without Wilson, they would be in hot water and living on name recognition at this point. I get taking some of that but in no way is emulating a franchise sliding into mediocrity a great thing. Happy with parts but not a copy and paste.
  3. Not a good sign if he think Jackson is a building piece. Hopefully that's just an example given, I was hoping to do better at CB in the future.
  4. Jags, Lions, Huston and WTF will be a race to see who gets fired first. I would bet all 4 have flipped in 3 years.
  5. I have been worried about Hurney's taint being carried over by working with Rhule, hopefully we are now in the clear. It's pretty positive that Tepper did learn, hopefully we are where we have begged to be as fans, under the competent guidance of great football people.
  6. I kind of get it. We are fans, we knew what was what and have for the better part of 13 years at that point. He didn’t. Ownership cares more about the business then the product, that's just normal. It was when we fired Ron and kept Hirney that was frustrating. He should have nutted up and hired a good consultant to assist him but like you said, water under the bridge. If that failure leads to Tepper making better decisions in the future then we are better off now.
  7. It was a bad sign when he kept Hurney, it looks like he has learned from that massive mistake. That is a very good thing to see. Hire good football people and get the hell out of the way. That's what ownership needs to do if they are serious about being continously competitive.
  8. A bad GM signed a backup to start with a contract that is bad. Teddy has and will continue to take a beating but he made out like a bandit for a backup level QB. It's harsh but a lot of truth.
  9. HAHAHA, given the Lions history and ownership it's all very funny. Most likely this is going to be entertaining as could be hoped for.
  10. Draft well, find a way to retain drafted talent and find value in the free agency. That's a winning model I hope we can follow now. I could see us going after a middle tier CB, OG and DT. Unless something drastically changes, we are not set up to have a reason to be chasing the mega free agent contracts. We need to figure out how to clear the dead cap mess, clear the dead weight on the roster (ie. KK), while getting into position to resign our drafted guys who will be ending their rookie contracts moving forward. I think an LT would be the one exception due to positional value & need but I haven't heard too much about what that will look like this year yet and hasn't worked out well for us in the past. I don't know if we have a chance at any comp picks this offseason other than Samuel. It doesn't sound like that will play a big part of this offseason for us.
  11. Or a billionaire who puts ketchup on what I assume are quality steaks?
  12. After watching Teddy hit the bench at the end of the season, I think there is a good chance Teddy and KK will be our June 1st cuts.
  13. Multibillionaire asking for tax money is even less likable.
  14. All I really hear is that he will probably sit a year and someone is getting a great and rested QB in 2022 on proper discount. They keep digging that hole lol
  15. He just comes off that way over the years. Plus I only know him as the enemy so that tint doesn't paint a pretty shade. It's like wrestling really, if I saw him in real life I would just act like I knew nothing because that's probably true.
  16. A startup couldn't afford a good vet?
  17. Dude comes off as fake as a $3 bill and I just find him generally annoying. I love playing against him when our D can get to him. He makes crazy throws and keeps his team in a game and the season, I respect that. I should say the public image, you know what he is like personally more than I could guess.
  18. I dislike Wilson as a person but he is a very good QB. With Cam it didn't matter if we matched up well, we had a chance. There was a time you had to go through the Seahawks to make it to a Super Bowl, now they are just scenery. Something has stagnated there.
  19. Good stuff here! Happy about the guy who was the brakes in the trading back bonanza bit. Still worried this was the guy who was the expert in scouting side for them recently, hopefully that will be the other two in the room and less his personal preferences. Very happy to learn his overall demeanor, very positive. The lack of ego is a nice bonus.
  20. The Seahawks get a lot of respect from the Legion of Boom, as they should have. In the last few years Wilson has carried that team, their drafts have been underwhelming and they have kept their heads above water through their pro-personnel department and good coaching. 12-4 and done in the wild card round. It would be an improvement for us but hardly the juggernaut days of years ago.
  21. Just shows me you need to take the leap if the draft has quality options because there are years where signing a random vet and just having fun is better than letting your need push you into drafting a dud. 10-16, holy cow we lucked in with Cam.
  22. Start up mentality the new slang for rebuild from the rebuild last year? Or are they going to make the office people work out of a garage? Just kidding. Kind of a dumb saying when referring to a billions dollar business but whatever. Would have been a lot more exciting and relevant if this was all done last year but it's here, again lol.
  23. I wasn't trying to compare the two, you are dead on, just after the failure of Teddy here I personally just want to see a rookie. I guess I should phrase it, if we were to trade for Stafford before the draft I would be disappointed with the new GM. If it is a settling move to fill a massive need after the draft then whatever. I really do not like the idea of using draft picks outside of the last two rounds on a vet QB with the roster issues we are facing. Any of the vets are fine-ish for me if it's a post draft non-draft capital spent move. Technically we are already rebuilding after last years massive free agent failure.
