Look around the league, no safety is safe. Look at the current FAs it feels half of them are safety. He's had alllll different DCs and HCs, but remained for the new staff at the cut point of his contract. The defense did struggle when he was missing. The point of the thread was to name a over looked/under-appreciated player. I said Sam Franklin was my current pick, but Woods is a good pick as well. He's a true FS and those are harder to find than SS in this passing league. I don't remember him giving up any big plays either. They had a huge communication problem before woods was signed, he was the driving force at fixing that.

He is. He is one of the only players that's remained all the staff changes. No teams keeps safety these days, but woods is a rock.

Wharton first pops into mind. Jordan Senn is a ST one. James Anderson gets washed over for all the LBs. Hoooover, goings, wes Horton, and my guy Kyle love should be said. Sam Franklin is the current under appreciated panther champ.

You can make a decent case that most of the starters are at-least average. But depth-wise, its awful, maybe the worst in the NFL. The only reason they could be a playoff team, is the awful NFC south and its collection of bad QBs and coaching staffs. That changed big time when cousins and Morris arrived to ATL. Now it would take a setback to cousins, in which he currently ready to play given all the stem cells and peptides stuff he has. In past years there was always some elite talent leftd on the 7 win rosters. Like many know theres just dbrown and a huge ? in horn. If hunt was elite, phins would have tagged him. There's no Thomas Davis, Luke, Cam, Olsen, peppers, kalil, beason, gross, Jenkins, Smitty etc on the team. Brown is great and all, but sacks and pressure wise, he's not game changing. Panthers lack difference makers, young ones. You could make a weak case for clowney, but that ravens D is stacked. Us fans just need to hope Dan Morgan can collect more young difference maker in the next 2-3 years. If Bryce isn't that guy, 4 years before this team can sniff the playoffs. Honestly the panthers are due some luck as well.

That was me as well, I was holding out hope that all the reports were wrong. Then stroud had a MVP type season helping the team reach the playoff..... made me hate the pick even more..... plus its a 4 year sat-back if young truly can not play. At this point in my life, 4 more years just is not on my menu.

I think hes going to have hands full holding off Michael Barrett. But if they are already giving him the green dot, they view him as the top backup.

Maybe. You know he wanted that OC gig each time, I believe the last time they even stated he interviewed for the role. This was during the whole youth movement that mccvay started as well. Honestly I was hoping Seattle would have cut ties with pete, he would have been great here in a top mentor role. I don't think its talked about enough, they did Pete wrong. He made them a great NFL team for the first time in their history and gave them a SB. He's still in great shape by all reports and they just decided to go young. They even removed most of his pictures and quotes in the building. Sorta like what the pats did to bill, but waay worse. Along with OL and especially DL. Steelers have the WR draft figured out the best, I bet if you look at there history every year they toss a draft chip on WR. WR is one of the only spots that you can play 5 at a time.
