  1. It's about getting the right coach and having him help select his QB. Then having a system that plays to that QBs strengths. I'm kind of looking at how the Eagles have handled Hurts as a nice example of playing to that QB's strengths.
  2. He wants to avoid dysfunctional teams. We have no chance...
  3. Are we wearing the back helmets Thursday?
  4. Yeah once you have your QB you can really sit back and let BPAs fall to you while other teams are trying to trade up and draft one. It's the most important step in building a solid roster.
  5. I haven't watched much McCall so I can't really be a fair judge of him. From what I read it will be a big change in the offense he runs to a NFL offense (like Hooker and Corral). That's not really a negative for him, just a question mark. Competition might be held against him, but if he is putting up those numbers who cares.
  6. Who is your mid-tier sleeper? Penix is getting overlooked IMO, Richardson has the crazy ceiling, but is raw as a passer....
  7. Anderson disappears against teams with decent sized OL, not sure that’s going to look good at the next level…
  8. Yeah that 2023 2nd moved the needle for me as well. We would have 3 second round picks this year plus those two future 1sts. Our goal is to find a QB over everything else. That kind of draft capital can help up move up in the draft/drafts as needed to get our guy. We are cap strapped this year and having 3 2nds plus our 1st and the Niners 3rd could really help us add some pieces for cheap as well...
  9. Way to avoid the questions and mention a player that isn't even eligible...
  10. He also disappeared against UT. He isn't a top 5 guy IMO.
  11. I feel like the Watson stupidity was all Tepper. I could be wrong, but it would definitely have to be signed off on by him. They went all in on him and failed (luckily).
  12. I mean Icky wasn’t really some hidden gem he discovered. Most mocks had him in the top 5, we were surprised he was there when we picked. I don’t know if Fitts gets a good job on that one. Now if these later round picks turn out to be good then that’s a different story.
  13. I think you misread my post or perhaps I wasn’t clear. I understand people being frustrated with that deal not happening. It was a good haul and Burns is going to want to be paid. The keeping some talent was in reference to the GB trade for Moore. It’s wasn’t good enough for eating his dead hit and losing a young WR on a good contract.
  14. We need a coach and a QB before anything. Gives the QB a year to learn the new system and get comfortable and in 24 we should have our cap space to build a great team around him.
  15. Haskins busted yes. Any other 1st round OSU busts? Can you name a recent one? Tua and Hurts are looking like NFL QBs from Alabama. Do they not count yet?
  16. I can see getting frustrated with the Burns trade getting rejected. The Moore one wasn’t that great of a deal. Are we going to trade away our young OL too since we have a bad record? We need to keep SOME pieces to A) Attract a good HC candidate and B) Help our rookie find success at this level. A 1st from GB who has been a playoff team every year would probably be a late first for our top offensive weapon on a decent contract. On a side note we need to start giving Barno and Brandon Smith reps. If our defense is going to play that bad, might as well get these rookies some experience…
  17. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-chicago-bears-help-justin-fields-offensive-line-receivers-sacks An still-lacking offensive line: Chicago's front five has allowed pressure on 34.1% of pass attempts — the highest mark in the NFL — although injuries have decimated the unit. He is without a doubt holding the ball too long, but his OL also isn’t doing him any favors…
  18. Really good running QBs! Lol the announcers are trolling @Catsfan69
  19. He needs to run more. Currently letting his team down…
  20. Mahomes better not be a “dual threat” QB if he wants to win tonight. He needs to turn into a “mobile” QB to beat the Titans.
  21. It’s simple Fields is getting better the more he plays. That’s typical for QBs. Mills is playing the same level or possibly worse as we started. I can draw a graph for you if it helps. One is trending UP which is what you want while the other is tending to be replaced which is what you don’t want.
  22. He had to get his TDs with his legs today. 86 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs with 0 passing TDs and 1 INT. He is about as dual threat as it gets. They incorporate QB runs all in that offense. He had 9 attempts which is more than any of his RBs.
  23. Yeah and for several of those “20” games Fields played he was pulled and came in for Dalton. Nagy was swapping QBs left and right last year. This is why it makes sense to compare this year where both QBs have been starters since week 1 and have been getting starter reps all year. That would however derail your whole argument, so I get why you are against it.
