  1. IF (and I mean this is a HUGE IF) Corral plays most of the seasons and shows some flashes/progression to look the part of our next franchise guy we could be in a spot to crush a team in a trade next year for a QB in the draft. We definitely need to get a good look at him, but after seeing out staff get Icky with BC getting limited playing time, I am a little more confident that we won't pass on a top talent if Corral is still a question mark.
  2. lol hopefully it's a rumor or a very cheap deal for Foles to start the season and develop Corral until he is ready. I'm leaning towards just rolling with Corral and letting him develop with the team.
  3. You're right, but I think it's just a timing issue. He didn't attempt to throw a lot of deep balls in that offense (especially after Moore got drafted), so I think it's correctable. As long as it's not a deep zone, overthrows are much safer than under...
  4. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10034700-nfl-rumors-panthers-still-considering-jimmy-garoppolo-baker-mayfield-or-nick-foles
  5. Willis is spending too much time in some of your heads. He got drafted by the Titans and I wish him the best unless he is playing us.
  6. Yeah Burrow was 2-7-1 before he got injured. Rookie years sometimes are just for the development of the QBs. These teams getting the top guys are in no position to make a playoff run, so they let the offense grow/develop with their young QB. The data will probably tell a different story if you look at top 10 drafted rookie QBs (excluding trade ups) record starting their rookie years. Players that fall later to better teams like Mac Jones, Lamar etc are naturally going to have better records.
  7. Yeah Chuba looked good behind our terrible OL last year. He is going to be a good RB to come in for CMC. We finally got a decent OL for them both to run behind now we just need to limit CMC’s snaps and hopefully he can stay healthy.
  8. Corral dropped because of character concerns. His physical traits are there to become a starter. Grier went in the 3rd because he was physically limited but had good enough character for us to use a 3rd on him. That’s the main difference IMO.
  9. Yep. He wanted to invest in Teddy then Darnold. None of the top tier guys wanted to play for him. He has no one to blame but himself for this situation he is in.
  10. Go to the 40 second mark. We need a QB that our staff can have that much confidence in. Also if we fire Rhule do we hire Kiffin to reunite them? (Kidding)
  11. Both seem like tough, competitive players. Corral is more suited for our WCO shorter, quicker passes. Howell has the better deep ball and could be better in a deeper vertical passing scheme offense. Howell has a shot to take over the starting job in Washington sooner better later.
  12. Oh I get not being as upset if he fails because he was a much cheaper investment than a first rounder. Our strategy for him isn’t to simply be a backup. Whether we achieve that or not is up in the air, but Fitt has said “he is our future” already in his press conference. That makes me think he is going to be treated like a day one pick QB vs a third rounder.
  13. Hopefully he will get some sponsorships in Nashville and plays well enough to still get paid. Seems like a genuinely nice, smart man. Wish him the best unless he is playing Carolina.
  14. High school fights against rich kids are a non issue. It almost makes me like him more depending on what happened.
  15. If we are in the top 5/10 range and there is a solid prospect there I think we take him. Don’t let the 3rd round guy cause us to miss on another prospect unless he some how proves he is the guy his rookie year which is highly unlikely. If they both turn out great we can flip the lesser for picks.
  16. It’s not a bad idea if we are high on a prospect that’s available when we are picking. I wanted us to draft Fields after we signed Darnold. Having several good young QBs isn’t a bad thing.
  17. Oh yeah. Plenty of QBs drop in the draft after an additional year of play. Jordan Love and Jake Locker are a couple aside from Rattler/Howell off the top of my head. The constant wait until next year guys are playing a dangerous game.
  18. I’ve constantly had this debate. Next year’s class looks good, but a lot can happen in one season like this past year… There are a lot of unknowns like where we are picking and how they play next year.
  19. I think Sam starts the first half and Corral comes in once we are eliminated from the playoffs. Also most if not all rookie QBs don’t know the system. They have to learn it or coaches run a simplified version through their first few games.
  20. It’s not that bad really. If Detroit took him at 32 (day one), I don’t think people would call it a reach. Simms had a late 1st/early 2nd grade on him.
