  1. Even if he is slightly below average at OC, it will be a welcomed upgrade!
  2. Teams seem to be preferring the new younger stat driven coaches/assistant coaches when it comes to offense (especially if they ever were within 3 feet of Sean McVay). He seems like a strong personality to take on as an assistant and these younger coaches probably want their own guys. His drop off as a head coach doesn’t help his case either…
  3. I’ve heard this a couple times and am curious. In what way in Baker more physically talented than Corral? His arm might be stronger, but outside if that I don’t see him outclassing Corral in athletic ability. I know Baker did this… https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/baker-mayfields-overthrown-hail-mary-is-the-longest-pass-ever-recorded-in-an-nfl-game/amp/
  4. That would be awesome! He is younger and would be much cheaper. If he turns out better then we will be set for the next year.
  5. The thing is he actually already has cut down his INTs. 2019 year was went he went in overconfident had a coaching change form Jackson for Kitchen midseason and threw 21 INTs which is waaaay to many, I get it. The following year (his last healthy year) he dropped it to 8 INTs with 26 TDs. He shouldn't have played after week 2 last year, but I get that he did. Even with a bad shoulder and injured planting foot he threw 13 INTs which was one less than his solid rookie season and way less than 2019. Even with a shitty injured 2021 season he cut down his INTs.
  6. It was like a 4th and a 7th for Tannehill. He also wasn't good at Miami. Tennessee helped him make a decent leap. Or are you talking about contract? I think the Titans overpaid for Tannehill, but that might be the price for an average QB anymore...
  7. Exactly. Baker demanded the trade to happen and wasn't going to back down from it. The Browns believed they had a once in a generation chance to acquire a top 5 young franchise QB so they went all in on him. I personally think the Browns are idiots because of Watson's off the field issues but that's their problem now.
  8. I wonder what the cost would have been to secure Baker after his 2020 season. It's hard to tell what the injuries did to his throwing motion/accuracy etc. last year. Just wondering how a deal would look at the beginning of free agency after his 2020 playoff win season. From an extremely optimistic point of view, that could be the Baker we are getting...
  9. Yeah you can zone your LBs to help out Burns' side. When both sides suck at stopping the run, you are screwed...
  10. True, but when it comes to Baker and his character concerns, saying the right things will go a longer way than your average player...
  11. It's probably Tepper saying he doesn't want Darnold on his field again after last year.
  12. It's a totally different group of people (marketing, PR etc) that are designing uniforms vs the ones that are developing a winning team. The Rams just did a huge refresh and still won a championship. There is no correlation whatsoever....
  13. Lol you honestly like the old logo better?? You just had change man. I know some people like that, but I assure you more people like the newer logo vs the old one.
  14. Our new logo looks better than our old. I'm all for improvements...
  15. He has not been set up for success in Chicago. No weapons and a shitty line... I hope he can overcome it, but they are giving him less help than we gave Cam.
  16. Stroud seems to have the tools, but his team is so loaded and so much more talented than any of those Big 10 schools he goes against. That is one of the reasons it is so hard to get a read on OSU QBs.
  17. Still very premature, but it does look promising. The Arkansas QB could show some potential as well…
  18. He was bad with Urban Meyer. Came to us recovering from an injury last year. I’m at least intrigued to see what Wilks can do with him. Taylor flashed enough last year to be a nice insurance policy.
  19. I think your last sentence kind of summarizes where I’m at. The gap between Sam and Baker is big and that is not because Baker is great, but more because Sam struggles are that bad during games. Baker has proven he can take the right team to the playoffs and we acquired him to be our starter. May the best man win is a nice mentality when the players are on a more even playing ability. Sam doesn’t need to see the field again IMO. There is no good that can come from it. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if we unloaded Sam for whatever cheap ass offer we get like we did Teddy. Once we know a QB isn’t the answer we want to cut ties with them pretty quickly (especially now that we have better options on the roster).
  20. Honestly I don’t think many think he is absolutely the guy. I think he is an upgrade (maybe mid level QB) that we acquired for cheap with little to no long term investment. I don’t know if he can even get us to the playoffs, but I hope he will provide us with an actual competent offense versus what I could barely watch last year while giving Corral a year to get ready. If he turns out to be the guy then great! If he struggles then we can move on after this season with no financial burden.
  21. Beuerlein wasn’t that bad either from what I remember…
  22. Our OC (at the time) though he did great and unfortunately their opinions matter a lot more than ours… https://247sports.com/Article/Carolina-Panthers-OC-Joe-Brady-praises-Sam-Darnold-training-camp-NFL-169697630/
