  1. Why not Darnold vs Mac or Darnold vs Mond? Hell we could have traded before the Niners did for pick 3 and grabbed Lance? Do we also look at Darnold vs Lance? We could have offered more to get Stafford as well? It’s a never ending game. People need to move on from Fields. If we drafted Darnold over Fields it would be a little different. We got him for relatively cheap and already had what we think is an option at the QB position with a huge need at CB when we were on the clock. Do the Dolphins have to worry about Fields vs Tua since they passed on him as well? What about the Lions and Goff vs Fields?
  2. Matt Leinart never really did well. Baker Mayfield is a good point. In 2019 his QB rating was worse than Darnold’s believe it or not and he was throwing to OBJ, and Landry while Darnold had Robbie Anderson. So in 2020 they beefed up Mayfield’s line and got him a smart offensively minded coach and he did great. Darnold mean while lost his best weapon (Robbie) had a terrible line, kept his terrible coach, and battled with a shoulder injury all year making him regress greatly. I’m hoping we can get a 2019 to 2020 Mayfield progression from him. Better line, better weapons, and better coaching might do that. Let’s hope it does!
  3. I agree with being low on Darnold. My glimpse of optimism is believing in the value of where these young QBs get drafted. There are always exceptions like Peyton and even Cam were going to be dominate no matter where they went, but a majority of these guys landed in good spots. Brees ending up with Sean Payton, Rodgers falling to GB, even Mahomes getting drafted by Andy Reid. Would players like Mitch T, Rosen, and even Haskins have played better if they were drafted by different teams? It’s going to be not only a good test for Darnold, but also for Joe Brady and his staff to see if they can develop a young QB that appears to have talent and some processing issues. I’m not saying it will work out, but it definitely has peaked my interest.
  4. Yeah the big hits that caused injuries were the blindsided ones from the pocket. When Cam was running he would brace for impact and could see the hit coming. The pocket hits are what shortened his career. The Von Miller, and TJ Watt hits were all from having a bad offensive line and a staff that refused to scheme around or address it.
  5. He tried though... that counts right?
  6. Yet no one offered them the first round pick they wanted BEFORE the draft. Plus there aren’t as many teams that can afford Julio. I swear you love every player not on our roster...
  7. It should be Darnold AND Horn vs Fields, because we couldn’t have landed Horn if we drafted Fields. Anyway Fields is officially a Bear now, go so follow him there. This board is for the Carolina Panthers. We passed on all but 7 players when we drafted Horn, not just Fields.
  8. He should look good in OTAs. His issues are in game decisions when he is under pressure, which was like every play behind that Jets line....
  9. Full context. A 32 year old Luke who can’t stay healthy and is counting towards a huge chunk of the salary cap. I’m not saying teams don’t want him, they obviously do. His talent justifies the risk/expense, but it also makes sense why they are getting a return for him now while they can.
  10. Fitzgerald had like 400 yards and 1 TD last year so let’s not use him as an example of older players....
  11. Because he gets injured every year....
  12. Julio is getting old and injury prone. If they can get a decent return their offense will still be good with Ridley and Pitts.
  13. Is he that 8 year college player? Maybe playing at Washington?
  14. It doesn’t matter this guy makes a new account every so often. Chuck, Sanjay etc... By the time we know if Darnold is the answer or not, he could be several more accounts deep.
  15. Yep, just look at the stats of WRs that went against Horn. Only one had over 50 yards and he won the Heisman and still was held to 60. Teams don’t throw to top CBs if they are doing their job.
  16. Agreed, but even a healthy DJ, Melvin, and Bouye brings some experience. Pride should be better and Horn should be at least average this year with some growing pains. We are in way better shape than previous years. Just last year we were reliant on 5th round Pride and 7th SOT getting a lot of playing time pretty early... Oh and Brown, Burns, and YGM should all be better with the addition of Reddick and Jones plus experience. Better pass rush makes life so much easier for these guys. I’m excited to see what Snow can do with a more complete roster!
  17. Darnold to Arnold might be my favorite to say.
  18. You think Darnold retires in two years?
  19. Hartsfield, Robinson, Franklin, Burris (more of a SS), and Pride. May the best man win! Also I’m sure we are on the lookout for vets getting cut as rosters are trimmed down. The good news it we actually have legitimate CBs now so the position isn’t as dire as it has been.
  20. It all makes sense to me. FWIW I think that has the makings of a solid practice squad... Ramsey, Smith, and Bayless are all guys who can eventually get roster spots in my opinion.
