  1. Yup. He had a moment here and there but has otherwise had a very nondescript career. He made it to year 7 though, lot of players don't last that long.
  2. Now 13-21 in primetime slots, 1-3 in the playoffs. 65-48-2 in non-primetime games. Unclutch may not be the right term, but he is the Matt Rhule of QBs - inferior results when the lights are brightest and competition the best.
  3. Horn passed his curse around this year, but he is healthy. Monkey's paw.
  4. Especially not Diontae Johnson on a 1 yr. deal. Besides, trading him at this point further hampers the offense, and wasn't that a core issue in the first place? Being unable to evaluate anyone because of major talent gaps? He's not an All Pro but let him play out the year unless a blockbuster trade offer comes through the door and avoid letting defenses absolutely swallow up the middling talent at other positions.
  5. Yup. Been 10 months now and he was supposedly ahead of schedule 12 weeks post surgery. He's not playing this year.
  6. If it makes you feel any better, Burns wouldn't help at this point AND the offense would possibly (likely?) be worse.
  7. Which was exactly the point of letting him go, to spread the resources. It was no guarantee that the FO would make the right moves but seems like they made positive decisions with that money thus far.
  8. THE problem, as in singular? No, definitely not last year but moreso this year. Arguably the BIGGEST problem? Possibly yes last year, definitely yes this year.
  9. They're not particularly good and they've been doing a lot of blocking. Nothing crazy going on.
  10. And then the Bears trade was a pretty dang good out as well. Double dumbassery.
  11. Exactly. Every QB in the NFL can 'manage a game' to some degree in that regard or they wouldn't be in the league at all, and the ones that prove they can't even do that fall out fast.
  12. Lawrence, where University of Kansas is, has a BYOB strip club called The Outhouse. It can be quite the adventure.
  13. IMO, JAG and game manager are two separate things. JAG implies 100% replaceable talent/performance level while game manager describes how they play the game and the limitations thereof. There are few true games managers in the league at the moment, with guys like Teddy, Tyrod, Alex Smith, and perhaps Purdue falling into that category; that lack of dynamism is generally not accepted at the QB position. There are also plenty of guys that aren't very good but can still push the ball and make plays at times, just not consistently enough to differentiate from the next crop. Those are the JAGs.
  14. Game manager is a term that implies doing only the baseline QB functions without having ability to create plays/dynamically impact the game/elevate the team on their own. Generally considered a negative since the QB is the most important position on he field.
  15. His value is directly related to how much the staff/franchise believes in him as a future QB and how he is currently.impafting the team chemistry. Nothing more, nothing less. What is gone is sunk cost, and the fact that he was the #1 overall is irrelevant given how poorly he has played. If the team sees no future for him then bench or offload him and move on, especially if he has a poor attitude. Bryce has no physical traits above replacement level and the 'processing' is not as advertised, so what's the point?
  16. Whether now or later, Carolina turning all that draft and personnel capital into nothing. It takes a special level of incompetence
  17. Chuba is the best, and perhaps only, real example that comes to mind when looking for a player from recent years who has truly and demonstrably developed during their time in Carolina. There may be others but his year-over-year improvement has been notable each season. Kudos to him for putting in that kind of work.
  18. Totally depends on the people in the locker room IMO and if also backed that up with direct conversations face to face with them. Perhaps that is what motivates whomever he was addressing, we really don't know.
  19. I was very concerned about the Corbett decision and the FO choosing to go into the season without an experienced center at least as a backup, but it's working out well. Credit to them and the staff for seeming to know what they were doing and getting him ready.
  20. Eh, a lot of NFL QBs have done this. Funny moment but hardly a reflection of Bryce alone.
