Pretty entertain reading the Devil's forums - pretty much every fan says the only reason we won is because they started Vanacek in net. I guess they forgot that Schmid has been just as awful in the series. As long as our defense doesn't make awful turnovers or lose positioning, we end the series Thursday. If we have a shitshow defensively like in game 3, then I will be worried. Hopefully game 3 was the outlier that doesn't happen again the rest of the playoffs. I am still thoroughly impressed with how great our offense has looked this series. Maybe part of the reason is the Devils look like ass on defense, but averaging over 5 goals/game in the series (not to mention hitting the post what feels like a dozen times) is something I would have never imagined.

Someone needs to unmic this bald headed pr*ck. Apparently the Devils are playing the Devils. The Devils were awful... yahdah yahdah yahdah... Meanwhile, the Canes apparently weren't even on the ice.

So, is this when we start chanting MVP for Martinook?

Like I said, get shots on net. Vanacek couldn't save a beachball. Good shifts from the Staal line and they deserved both of those goals

Definitely for this series. And I would say the Staal line (him, Fast, Martinook) was probably the 1st round, even though Martinook didn't score.

I think that was me or my sis with Florida State comeback wins the 2 years they had Jameis. Literally we were forced back into the bathroom until the game ended. So, you have to bite the bullet and watch the rest of the game from the bathroom

It would be nice if literally any broadcasting crew would talk about our team more than 5 seconds. Intermission break all I hear about is Hughes, Hughes' friend Zegras in the crowd, this great 1st goal by the Devils, and then spend 5 seconds on the Canes saying they scored a goal...

Gotta play way more positionally sound tonight - I can't stress enough how good NJ is with getting odd man breaks. I expect NJ to come out guns ablazing again to start the game. Weather the storm for the first 5-10 minutes and get to work from there.

I'm not sure an offseason can help him. He looked just as clueless in Edmonton also. Sometimes you just whiff on trades - luckily it didn't cost much. But yeah, with how big he is, it's crazy he has no physicality to his play.

I didn't expect us to win game 3 with it pretty much being win or go home for the Devils. That being said, we cannot look this bad on defense any more in the playoffs. We don't have the scorers to get away with it.

Less that - more way too many odd man rushes allowed. We did a great job limiting them game 1 and Freddie bailed us out a bit in game 2 with them. I don't know if our defense was drunk or what but they played a terrible positioning game today. They were aggressive when they shouldn't have been and passive when they should have. Very uncharacteristic of them and hopefully we don't see another game like this on D the rest of the playoffs. I think it also is in part because we can't linematch on the road. I think a big part of why we are so much better at home vs. the road is because line matching is probably most important to us than any other team in the NHL.

If there is anything encouraging about this game, our offense definitely created a lot of scoring chances. Defense needs to stop playing like dumbasses and our Goalies need to learn how to make a save. I'll give Freddie a pass for how amazing he was the previous 3 games. Pytor... Just go back to the AHL asap

Get Raanta up to Jersey pronto and do not let Pyotr dress again for the playoffs. I don't care if we have an emergency goalie suit up in place of him

They've been a lot better this year than last year on the road in the playoffs. A couple of ill-timed pinches by dmen played a big part on goals 2 and 3. We should know our scouting - the Devils offense consists of counters and odd-man breaks. You don't let them get that, they struggle to score (see games 1 and 2)
