  1. I get it. We will all assume that Tepper will continue to be way too hands on which could have the same results as before…..but logically this is the exact same wording used for the other coaching hires. All coaches/gm’s report directly to the owner. The one glimmer of hope that I have it that this seems to be a Morgan hire, and I hope Tepper will start backing off and allowing them to run the operations of the team. We are all pisee off at how terrible this team has been, but just like the Novel “message to Tepper” post from yesterday, this seems to be reaching for something to be mad about.
  2. No he was not. He had more misses than hits as a head coach
  3. Lol could not have been a better hire for the Falcons
  4. Go scream at some trees….You will get the same result. Normal huddle posters won’t read that novel, much less Tepper.
  5. No sane person would say it was a good decision at this point. I DONT disagree with the aggressive move as long as it panned out. If we picked Stroud, no one would have blinked an eye at what was given up.
  6. Agreed and missing common sense when game planning. Passing game and pass protection was in the tank for most of the season? F*ck it, let’s throw 45 times even though Hubbard is averaging 5 yards a run.
  7. Good, we need someone like Vrabel. We have had two of the softest coaches in the league the last two hires
  8. I get hating Tepper but the interviews are not directionless. We have some solid candidates set for our second round of interviews and seeing Vrabel on the list makes me happy. The Eagles OC didn’t make the cut for 2nd interviews.
  9. No you are not. That’s called projection my friend. I’d rather win….i don’t care if it is Stephen Hawking running the team, I’m just saying I have a bad feeling about him coming back leading men on an NFL team with his personality. He will prob win games in LA (he has a top 5 QB) but in my opinion he would have zero chance here. That personality only works in certain circumstances, and you cannot deny that the reports weren’t glowing when he left the NFL originally. Yes he had a winning record on loaded teams, but he was 8-8 in his last season and bounced out (any time there is adversity he seems to leave immediately.) He has a track record of moving on pretty quick and does not have glowing relationships with teams he has worked for in the past. Again I’m not debating his ability to win games on talented teams, I’m just saying I fell like he would have been a disaster playing for certain NFL teams….us included. He always seems to have one foot out the door, even Michigan got tired of him talking to NFL teams every off season and he would say the complete opposite when ask about his NFL interest.
  10. I get that he has had success, but I never wanted him. He seems like an odd guy to me personality wise.
  11. Winning is the only thing that matters. Would ANY gm hire we made made you change your opinion of the team currently though? I get being pessimistic on Morgan, but tell me a candidate that we interviewed that would have made you want to renew PSL’s……..
  12. I definitely didn’t take the grade to heart because that ultimately means the same as a huddler giving a grade. I did find it interesting that two of the 4 mentioned us hiring one of the candidates that we interviewed to work under Morgan. It brings up an interesting conversation because many, Including myself did not want a candidate that was more of an “analytical” guy and it will be interesting to pair one of them up working under Morgan who seems like a traditional GM with scouting experience.
  13. The huddle never misses, although who is left may be regular posters on the Huddle that they have hired.
  14. Side note: I have a feeling Morgan will absolutely crush his new role and make us a Super Bowl contender in no time. My reasoning for saying this? The Huddle seems to overall hate this move. Typically any moves we make that the huddle gets excited about, the opposite always ends up happening from FA signings, to draft picks, to office moves etc
  15. I was reading sports illustrated grading of our Morgan hire, and noticed a few tidbits from the 4 write ups. Seems that we may hire one of the other candidates we interviewed to work under Morgan as well. Schuyler Callihan: C+. I think Morgan has the chance to be really good in this role. He knows what it takes to win in Carolina and knows this roster better than anyone they interviewed. However, I think going with an external candidate would have provided a cleaner slate. There are some rumors that one of the candidates they interviewed will join Morgan in the front office and if that goes through, then this grade gets rounded up. Matt Alquiza: C+. I’m not going to pretend like I know the inner machinations of the Carolina front office, but it’s odd to me that they’re retaining Morgan. On some level, he has been involved in the disaster that the last few years have been. On the positive side, he has personnel director experience in Seattle and Buffalo, two well run, successful teams. It seems as if they’ll hire somebody with financial acumen to pair with his football knowledge. It’s a structure that can work, but I’m dubious.
  16. Morgan does not come across as a yes man in the slightest. I get your reservations, but maybe Tepper gives Morgan complete control of the program. If he does, I have faith that Morgan can build this team up.
  17. Call me crazy but I’ve never been a fan of Harbaugh being hired. He seems like a low key weird guy…..plus he wants heavy team control, whereas we are clearly going to be built under Morgan, not a head coach who has total control like Rhule did.
  18. I’m actually excited for this hire if he is allowed to make this team his own and Tepper stays out of it.
  19. Peppers showing love. I bet after what Tepper went through this year, he gives Morgan full power to make this team his own and to build it the way he see’s that it should be. If that’s the case, it’s a win for everyone.
  20. J stew and Peppers love the hire. I bet he is given the freedom to really run the team which is something we haven’t seen yet.
  21. Meanwhile no poster here REALLY knew anything about anyone being interviewed as a candidate, but hates on Morgan just because he was already employed here. As a former player who gave us everything, we should all come together now and hope for the best and root for the man. He was viewed as an excellent talent before coming here and as well as an up and coming gm candidate. I have a lot of examples where people have left here and had immediate success, we don’t even know what Morgan brings to the table yet, nor does anyone know his real responsibilities in his former role.
  22. I believe Scott really lead the college/draft side while Morgan specialized in existing FA but I still get your concerns
  23. ARTICLE: Could Kirk Cousins, Bill Belichick partner up with the Falcons? It’s not quite Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, but the potential partnership of Bill Belichick and Kirk Cousins seems a little odd on the surface. Maybe it isn’t. Appearing Thursday with CBS Sports as part of a media car wash, Cousins addressed the possibilityof playing for Belichick. “I have great respect for him as a coach, like everyone else in pro football,” Cousins told Isabel Gonzalez. “I mean, if you go to that many Super Bowls, win that many Super Bowls, go to that many conference championship games, have the defensive production he’s had for years and years, it says it all. “We played them last year on Thanksgiving night. And, once again, I noticed several times what he did coverage-wise was challenging and it was different. You always know when you play him that you’re kind of looking over your shoulder [and] wondering if what you’re seeing is correct. Because you know he usually is going to break the mold and do something different, and that’s part of what has made him a great coach.” So would he ever play for Belichick? “I’m not gonna turn down an opportunity to play with a future Hall of Fame coach,” Cousins said. “But we’ll have to see where March leads. It’s just a lot of unknowns right now.” The first unknown is whether the Vikings will try to keep Cousins, and whether Cousins wants to stay in Minnesota. With or without Cousins on the roster, he’ll count for $28.5 million under the salary cap for the Vikings in 2024. It’s also unknown where Cousins wants to live. As Peter King mentioned on PFT Live, Cousins’s wife is from Alpharetta, Georgia — and her parents still live there. That becomes a very powerful magnet, especially in combination with the attraction of playing for Belichick. As long as Matt Patricia and Joe Judge aren’t running the offense in Atlanta. And as long as Cousins doesn’t plan on telling Belichick that the quarterback won’t be working on Tuesdays. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/could-kirk-cousins-bill-belichick-partner-up-with-the-falcons
  24. Looking back, poo on all of you who poo’ed me lol. What a difference a few years makes in the NFL. So much has changed since 2021
