I'm with you. And I still have always found it too coincidental that all of these allegations popped up after he demanded the trade and they were sought out, presented, and represented by the McNairs' neighbor who also happens to have a sketchy history as a scumbag, money-chasing lawyer. I also recognize it's awfully troubling that a guy sought out 20 different "massage therapists," for the same service. Again, a very unique situation here.

No, not saved... but I do believe having an entire offense of playmakers that went between the 1st and 2nd rounds certainly made him look a lot better than he is. No coincidence Ogeron was dismissed possibly quicker than any other head coach after winning a championship in the modern era, either... I just think they had a ton of great NFL talent that carried them. And all that I do know is, Brady is not an NFL coach or coordinator at this point in his career. And I say that as possibly his biggest advocate before we hired him... it's just surprising because from what I read, he really did make the majority of their calls that really mattered there, but I guess the talent discrepancy was just that big in LSU's favor.

Rapoport believes Watson will be traded before the deadline
Proudiddy replied to t96's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wtf??? I didn't say or imply Tepper would pay off the accusers. Did you not see the word "legally"? I meant as in helping Watson with his legal defense, I wasn't even thinking about paying anyone off, but legal/civil settlements are also a legal means of resolution in cases like this. And sorry I spoke down on your heroes, apparently... even though I laid out numerous examples of the NFL and many of their team owners being completely and willfully ignorant of morality if it gets in their way of winning and profits. And Tepper also made a statement when he bought the team in the wake of the JR scandal that he would not tolerate sexual violence or assault in any fashion being associated with this organization - and now look at us. Get off your high horse and save it. Facts and history are on my side on this argument, and it proves the NFL is a scum organization. And maybe you wouldn't be so offended if you read what was typed instead of inferring what you want out of it. -
...from Sam Darnold.

I thought the same thing. And last week he ran the same tight end handoff to Tremble. I've never seen these many plays blatantly repeated in a season, let alone a few weeks.

Not meaning to imply he is blameless, but I meant he is still a good player and isn't worth dumping for a guy the Eagles drafted high and couldn't beat out a UDFA.

Rapoport believes Watson will be traded before the deadline
Proudiddy replied to t96's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yup, sure is. People want to draw the line on what they find offensive and then play moral police for that cause, while ignoring the multitude of sins that don't offend them happening all around the league. But, it doesn't count as long as it isn't their team. This league blackballed a player from making a living for protesting police brutality. They have covered up multiple scandals, including one that likely cost us a Superbowl, and destroyed the evidence. They have harbored and protected numerous criminals under Goodell, including their own owners (see Irsay, Kraft). But, people draw the line at Watson? No doubt, if he did what he is accused of, he is a predatory dirtbag - but you don't get to pick and choose which crimes are acceptable to root for. You either support the product of the NFL as a whole, or you don't. -
Rapoport believes Watson will be traded before the deadline

We don't know that she was willing. A lot of women are forced into that work unwillingly. I get what you're saying, but again, with money comes power, and those with power get to tell the stories. -
Rapoport believes Watson will be traded before the deadline

I wasn't saying it was my opinion. It's what I'm speculating is happening/will happen. The NFL doesn't care about morals or ethics. If the video of Ray Rice never came out, he would have played the rest of his career out like nothing ever happened. The NFL only acted because they had to with the video being leaked. Prior to that, they had already "dealt" with it and elected to essentially do nothing. Same with the Zeke example, he honestly probably wouldn't be suspended if a video hadnt came out of him groping a woman. Donte Stallworth killed a man while drunk driving and still came back and played in the NFL. Chris Johnson is rumored to have had the guys who shot him and his associates assassinated as all part of a much bigger drug operation - he still played an entire career in the NFL. Roethlisberger more than likely raped a woman and was allowed to play an entire career AND be a face of the NFL. Pacman Jones had a lengthy rapsheet early on in his career and also was able to finish out his career. The NFL doesn't care about character. They care about money. Period. Owners don't care about character so long as it doesn't inhibit them from winning and making money. Period. And I was unaware I was a scumbag before, but nice to know. -

Yeah, with money comes power... and I have to believe Tepper isn't trying to make this deal if he knows the NFL will sit him. I also suspect Tepper will do whatever it takes legally to make the cases go away. I mean, we don't have the same exact issues here, but Zeke was caught on camera groping a woman and only ended up suspended for 2 games IIRC, and Jerrah was giving Goodell a lot of poo for it, too. For better or worse, money talks and in this scenario, Watson is one of the biggest stars in the league and was in the running for MVP at one point with a poo team around him. Tepper is one of the wealthiest, if not THE wealthiest team owner out there, and it's good for business if both the NFL and the team Watson ends up on can put the legal issues behind him and get him back on the field. I have to believe throats already been discussed with the league before we would pursue it. This isn't saying the accusations don't matter or that this is morally or ethically the right thing to do of those accusations are true... it obviously wouldn't be. But, this is the NFL and all that matters is winning. -
a savage Yahoo article on the Panthers loss
Proudiddy replied to BlitzMonster's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, as much as I wanted to believe in him and was encouraged by his opening presser and first season, the red flags are everywhere now and can't be ignored. As I mentioned yesterday in another thread, there was an interview with PJ Walker in the preseason on the Panthers Huddle and they asked him about playing for Rhule and his answer was a bit shocking. It wasn't flattery or endearing, in fact, it seemed a bit of the opposite and he alluded to players having to adjust when they got there and get used to how he did things... and iirc, said something along the lines of "once you get past the college stuff," but I can't find the interview or that episode anywhere now. I also remember the guys who did the Senior Bowl this year guffawing over Rhule, but then when they showed his direct interactions with the players when he was mic'd up, I was really put off... the guys didn't look like they responded at all and were really just doing their best to deal with him and tolerate him. He seemed to wear on them from what I saw, and they weren't even pros yet. Then this year, we come out with that wack ass, collegiate DBO sign, and funny enough, we've done just that, especially the last 3 weeks. These last 3 weeks have been absolutely illuminating in regards to our coaching staff and their inability to do their jobs. -
Nothing's wrong with Robby. Our OC, QB, and OL suck.
-
Sounds like a leadership problem, and I ain't talking about the players.
-
I've always liked Chubba and believe he is a really great talent with great potential. Also, his pass pro was absolutely special yesterday... too bad, Darnold still sucked regardless. Chubba was absolutely selling out on those blocks he threw.
-
I was telling a friend this earlier... this situation feels even more hopeless than the 1-15 season and the Pickles year because the further back you pull the scope on this team, especially offense, the more you see another problem that lies at the coaching staff's feet, and it's clear they don't know how to fix it. Is Sam bad? Absolutely. Complete ass. Is the line bad? Oh yeah, possibly worse than Sam, and thats hard to do. But, many teams throughout history have had to scheme around deficiencies - in fact, we've played some the last 3 weeks, and all 3 of them outcoached and outschemed our staff. Rivera and his staff were no strategists, but they schemed an offense all the way to a Superbowl despite having no receivers or OL, and an underwhelming RB unit. The NYG literally were down to almost all backups on the OL, their starting RB and top WRs were out, and fielded a defense that gave up 38 points the week before, and despite all of that, they came out and executed a flawless gameplan and whooped our ass. No line? No problem... they kept us guessing pass or run. If it's a pass, they got it out quick with slants and smoke screens to neutralize the rush. If it's a run, they varied the calls from outside zones, to powers, to inside zones, and then if we got too comfortable with that, they ran the read option with Jones so the run defense couldn't get too aggressive upfield. Thry kept us off balance, and one llay felt like it was setting up the next, and then they got into a rhythm. The Eagles did the same thing. Vikings too. And Joe Brady and Rhule are just sitting there with their thumb up their asses saying, "we have to figure it out." No, it should have already been figured out. I said in the preseason that rotating guys all over the OL instead of just playing guys at one spot and letting them get comfortable was going to bite us in the ass... and here we are. All because of that bullshit ass college poo he brought in here. And then to make things worse, Brady has no fuging clue how to scheme around it, yet he's getting an in-person lesson every fuging week. So like I said, this is about as hopeless and as dire as I can remember it being because never before were we able to look at the staff and say they are the ultimate reason this is happening because they are completely inept and are in over their heads despite any areas of personnel weakness. Now we can.
-
And more specifically, I said it in the gameday thread, but the last 3 weeks, we were the better team talent-wise across the board, and we absolutely got out-schemed in every game, and not by a little.

When LP, one of the more reasoned and patient Huddlers we have, posts a Proudiddy-style, post-loss reactionary thread, you know poo has hit the fan. Never in all my years! Love you, LP, and I 100% agree!
