These types of Referee blunders are 100% unacceptable
onmyown replied to KillerKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I know you’re looking at it as a Panthers fan going by your list but there were also a lot of dumb calls on the Falcons as well - which is to your main point. Refs are an outdated and unneeded part of the game that keeps the old ass owners happy stating it basically keeps some ‘uknown/randomness’ in the game. In other words they are aware of and like the element of human error as if it creates some excitement. This is just a business to them after all. Don’t think for a second an owner’s first thought after appearing happy after a win or success isn’t how much better the money is going to be. In reality this day an age refs are completely obsolete in most situations. -
Tepper doesn’t understand how a lot of this works and he’ll learn on his time if at all. Did the same thing with Hurney. Then tried to interview another GM and was denied due to the rule. Tepper just wants to see if he can figure it out himself and if he can’t or it takes two decades, so be it, no biggie. It’s why he was so easily gullible over Rhule and his 7 year plan lol like what even somewhat NFL aware owner accepts that lol. I don’t think people know just how awful this franchise is going to continue to be when half the round table making football decisions consists of Tepper, his wife, and a customer service rep. And who here thinks the football people in the room that Tepper hand selected (Fit, HC, Morgan) are going to adamantly go against Tepper or especially his wife? Yea. Just a dumbass doing dumbassery things.

Some positive and critical thoughts on yesterdays game
onmyown replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree with most but to clarify - the pass rush (and backfield cover for that matter) means nothing if you can’t stop the run and the screens. It’s a one dimensional defense that simply is not going to work. At all. The numbers were a bit off since the screens didn’t count as rush yards, though I feel they kind of are but the Panthers are absolutely atrocious at stopping yards from the LOS or behind. I don’t know exact numbers but you can’t give up 200+ yards from those plays. That along with stretching the field is what’s going to hurt this team the most. Also Burns shows why he is not on Bosa level for three reasons. He won’t catch anyone coming at him or up behind them (besides the one slow developing play TFL where no one blocked him), he disappears as the games goes on (a known trend), and finally as you pointed out, which isn’t all on Burns, but if he can be taken out or exposed the defense won’t be competitive. Awful FO management relying on just one guy despite Luvu and Brown doing well. At the same time it is on Burns if he wants Bosa money because he needs to come through in crunch time and take over a game when it matters despite being the sole playmaker. That’s what elite money pays for. -
Going to be really telling how many young first round top 10 picks this team can rack up on and still can’t win. Really is a sign of being the new Browns with a dysfunctional FO. How many other teams have …is it 4 top 10 picks under 25 years old? Don’t have one next year but that’d be 5 if this year doesn’t pan out and on our way to 6. At one point I think the Browns had like almost 10+ lol. Just throwing around numbers here too lazy to look up but you get the point. I despise Tepper.

how do we get tepper to sell the team
onmyown replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is his toy. He wants the credit for ‘turning things around’ and thus he won’t let go. Similar to San Fran 7 years ago. He really needs help but refuses and wants to meddle at the expense of fans. Like I said, it’s his toy he doesn’t care. He’s finding ways to make money and putting in input when he shouldn’t because otherwise he wouldn’t be playing with his toy and certainly can’t reap the credit for success, which will never come. He connects the dots he just doesn’t care. Failing means nothing to him, in his mind, there are more important things to worry about. -
how much you paying?

Can’t stop a 50 years pass even with interference lmao

Those aren’t the issues despite people pointing them out. It’s the conservative play trying not to lose. The Falcons suck. You can’t play like this against any average or above team. Could be that’s because our personnel sucks. No one to stretch the field. But the defense also can’t stop the run. These are huge red flags that generally carry on through the season. Hopefully there are plans to keep building the team to compete in the modern NFL but this was always an issue for Reich so just going to have to see it unfold.

You must be new

when the very top is dysfunctionally inept and too stupid to realize it, this is what you get.

Horn needs to get with T Davis to see what’s available overseas
-
just replay any game from the past half decade…missed tackles on the outside followed confusion my entire gameplan vs the Panther would consist of screens and running off the tackle
-
they’re not even remotely worried about stretching the field gee who woulda thunk it

TRADE YOUNG FIRE FIT TEPPER IS TRASH
-
Guess the panthers had their decent drive early already and are ready to fug up and do dumb poo. 2018-
-
He’s not a real GM. Not sure why that isn’t understood yet. But slim pickins when you’re hired in under Tepper and Rhule I’m sure.

Burns is pissed. Let’s hold off on paying him as long as possible lol

Nice to know Young falls on fumbles Don’t hate

Falcons vs Defense. It's Going to Feel Like Christmas
onmyown replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean the title says it’ll be christmas…the defense has one pass rusher and no depth whatsoever, literally an injury away from being over…don’t get me started on the DBs its not going to be Christmas is all I’m saying, it’ll be a grind -
Falcons vs Defense. It's Going to Feel Like Christmas
onmyown replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
I suspect a very boring game. Falcons are going to Titans route to success. And honestly the Panthers have been quite bad at the run game for years. Low scoring game with winner playing best 4th qtr imo -
I think most are excited but hardcore fans have become more casual and casual fans have checked out and will probably check back in if the Panthers do well. There are a couple Cam fans left surprisingly but for the most part they have completely checked out…and tbh that was a large portion of fans, they are for sure not on the forum anymore. Im fact I think a lot of fans while excited just do things out of routine or for the sake of nostalgia/memories. I use to go to most games but stopped when Tepper took over. He is by far the worst thing that has happened to this franchise. I’m going to go to a game this year but due to schedule it will have to be a late season game. And I’m not spending $500+ if the Panthers look like crap. I think most long term fans will always be fans but it’s a two way street. We can be disappointed at home much more comfortably than going to games and that’s what we have come to expect. For a while now there’s always been a reason to get excited at the beginning of every season but the result has been the same. Until otherwise, not sure what you’d expect differently.

Bump this thread when Miles Sanders is the main reason for winning
onmyown replied to Basbear's topic in Carolina Panthers
You’re probably right for this year but I hope to god that’s not the plan going forward. The NFL has moved on from that for a while now. It’ll win some close games but it won’t do much to beat the best at the end of the day generally speaking. I do think our oline will be much better in the run game. And we probably won’t be competing with the best for a couple seasons minimum anyways. -
New Tennessee Titans turf...with new technology
onmyown replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I read it. The transition zone also includes Charlotte. And other stadiums. Sorry, Not buying it. It’s very expensive for sure, especially when you need to revamp things for controlled staging areas, or a half dome/retractable glass stadium cover, and even changing the type of grass depending on the season - but it’s not even close to ‘nearly impossible’ for the kind of money the league makes. Not even close. It’s just costly. Article after article it is obviously just pushing an agenda since players are speaking out. But the costs don’t outweigh profits simple as that. It should read: ‘determine the best, and safest, plan moving forward when considering costs to maintain a consistent grass field.’ Sounds like enough money was not put into maintain the grass. Surely no one is surprised by that. -
Not if you have a competent FO. If we did lord knows we should be able to replace Burns’ production with two firsts and a second. Also if your pass rush turns to zero after one player goes down…well again…the issue is the competency of the FO. Reddick is making 15m/year and just had 16 sacks. He is also mainly just a rusher. I know we didn’t have the deal for Burns at the time but it is what it is. Im just comparing production. Wish we held onto him. I don’t mind resigning Burns but he isn’t a complete DE and even supporters of a new deal should be concerned with just how much he appears to be wanting. Especially considering for years now teams have ran the ball on the Panthers with ease, ranking below average (for years) in rushing yards allowed. Again, I’m not completely against a new contract. We need Burns…albeit a little too much. But at the same time I wouldn’t have been made for them to make that trade. The Panthers would’ve won that deal. Some seem to be on either side of the fence but you can see it both ways. Which way ultimately would’ve been better is yet to be seen.
