  1. Can we all finally laugh about how stupid it was for an owner and his wife to show up to meet fugging QB prospects? What a ridiculous spectacle that became. On behalf of the panther community, I’d like to offer Dave and Nicole a massive thank you for all your hard work with the panthers. Dave being involved like he is would be like a janitor running his hedge fund. The guy just doesn’t get it and never will.
  2. I guess it depends on your definition of prevent. They didn’t go into quarters and only rush 3 or that type of prevent. What they did is only rush 4, hold lanes, and drop 7 to keep everything in front. To me that’s a form of prevent because the rest of the game they were blitzing and running stunts to make Bryce uncomfortable. When they went away from that he finally looked decent. But I don’t think that really translates to the first 3 quarters because Bryce can’t operate with the nonstop duress he’s under.
  3. The Lions went into a prevent defense in the 4th quarter and stopped sending the house to ruin Bryce. Im not trying to be a dick towards you, but I need to see some signs of life from Bryce when we aren’t down by 3+ TDs in the 4th quarter and the other team goes into full prevent mode.
  4. I’m so over the narrative of the fans being the problem. Name a single thing David Tepper has done since buying this franchise that has given us a single reason to show up Sundays? I could go on and on about the meddling, the crap product, the dunce head coach he hired his first go round, etc, but on top of it all he’s RAISING ticket prices every year. Ask any of the players during our Cam/Luke era about attendance. In 2015 I wasn’t even in the financial position to buy playoff tickets, yet I sat my ass in the stands every single home playoff game. I counted maybe 4-5 red jerseys in the entire stadium in the NFCCG. I also went to 3-4 other games throughout the season. If you put a respectable product and franchise players on the field, fans will come. But we have absolutely got to stop pretending like the fans attendance is a problem. It’s the biggest cop out ever from management to the players. If that’s the thing Burns wants to bitch about, trade him to the chargers. I don’t think that franchise has ever played a home game since moving to LA, regardless of sucking or being good.
  5. I wish this was a possibility, but I can’t see it being a reality. The Bengals are having to offload Tee because of Burrow’s massive contract and Chase being up next. I can’t see a world where they can trade for Burns and then pay him the 30 mil a year or whatever he thinks he’s worth.
  6. You could also argue his illegal player downfield penalty lost us the game. At worst we go up 16-7 if he doesn’t do that. Guy is cooked mentally.
  7. Fitt must be a world class yes man for Tepper. I can’t think of any other reason he’s around. The stench of Matt Rhule will always be present with Fitterer in the building. This franchise is damn near dead.
  8. I’m convinced Fitt couldn’t evaluate a good football player if his life depended on it. He’s too obsessed with athleticism. DJ Johnson will never play a meaningful snap as a panther, but Fitt couldn’t help himself to TRADE UP for a guy projected to go a full 1-2 rounds later than we drafted him. All the pundits after that pick were simply saying “uhhhhhhhhh we don’t know, but Johnson is athletic I guess.” His drafting philosophy is piss poor and the stench of Matt Rhule will always remain with Fitt here. Think about it this way, Fitt wouldn’t even give a player like Larry Fitzgerald a second look because even though he can catch anything within 10 feet of him, he’s not athletic enough. And don’t even get me started on the Burns non trade. Fitt has got to go.
  9. Don’t disagree with your premise, but you’re essentially just saying don’t start him in Seattle because it’s loud. Because that defense sucks. It’s a bottom 5 defense by most metrics. This isn’t the legion of boom anymore. It honestly would’ve probably been a good game for Bryce to get right because their secondary is suspect in every way.
  10. See this is where you lost me. There’s not any concrete evidence benching him will be meaningful in any way. Peyton Manning threw 28 picks his rookie year. Luck had a QBR of 54 his rookie season. I could go on and on and on with #1 picks that started immediately. None of them got benched. The absolute best thing for a rookie QB is game reps. Benching him takes away time on the field and at worst, you could show him up if Andy looks good. I’m sure that will be an exquisite confidence boost for Bryce.
  11. Which is fine to think that, but my overarching point is there is no logical conclusion one can draw that this will be a cop out for the coaching staff. What you described above means that the coaching staff and front office were all totally wrong about Bryce and they are realized he wasn’t what they thought he would be. I like to think Frank and Thomas Brown can’t possibly be that stupid because what Bryce needs right now is to continue getting in game reps. If his mind truly is that advanced for a rookie, holding a clipboard on the sideline only does so much good.
  12. Guys come in here. Huddle (pun intended) nice and tight together. Leave your homemade tin foil hat at the door. Someone logically explain to me how pretending Bryce has an injury can be beneficial in any way to the coaches? Let’s workshop a few scenarios before your peckers come flying out of your pants. Scenario 1: Andy looks great! He wins the game handily and throws for let’s say 300 yards and 2-3 tudders. Now the coaches look stupid for their pick because that means Bryce wasn’t pro ready day 1 (which is what they’ve all been telling us). Scenario 2: Andy looks mediocre and we win a defensive battle. The offensive coaches look stupid because that means it’s 100% scheming and roster building issues. Can’t really blame 1 QB or another in this scenario. Scenario 3: Andy looks terrible and Seattle takes a dump on our forehead. Now the *entire* coaching staff looks incompetent for a multitude of reasons. Okay ladies and fellas, explain away how this can possibly be a good thing for the coaches at the end of the day.
  13. To be fair, he absolutely dropped a safeties panties on the ground on an incredibly important 3rd down run. That was a sweet move and Bryce looked to be scooting past the defense. Just my opinion here, but it seems to me like he’s looking downfield too long (as weird as that sounds). When it’s time to jetpack and scramble he’s so well trained to keep his head downfield that he’s getting run down too easily. The problem is your receivers have to get open if you want to do that. And our WR group absolutely sucks right now. I’m pretty sure I could assemble a flag football team to blanket those guys. Watching replay today and most of them just stand still staring at Bryce when the play breaks down. Thielen is the only guy constantly working to get open. Now the little shoulder brush sack sucked. There’s no way around that. It just can’t happen. Bryce is going to have to be stronger than that. He also closed his eyes to throw during another sack. That can’t happen either. But ultimately I don’t think he’s Tom Brady level slow or anything; dude is just always trying to find something downfield at this point in his career.
  14. Fitt needs to correct the Burns mistake, find a team to give us a 1st for him, then take the money Burns wanted and allocated it to DB. To me, DB has a chance to cement himself as a legendary panther. He keeps getting better every year, dude busts his ass every play (half the time he’s making tackles downfield), and -maybe most importantly- wants to fight a saints player. Absolutely love the guy.
  15. It’s hard to be mad at them, that’s for sure. Two games in and it looks like Poles took Fitt out behind the shed and gave him the spanking of a lifetime in that trade. If they end up with two top 3 picks or whatever it is, tip of the cap to them for being right.
  16. Literal wet dream scenario for us. Half our fan base would have a stroke, but genuinely think this would be such a homerun. Problem is Cincy needs to offload Tee because they are broke and need to pay Chase… but man do I wish.
  17. Other teams run at him until they force our coaches to take him out. And he wants Bosa money. And half our media thinks he deserves it because he “has the potential to be better than Bosa.” This entire city is a clown show with professional sports. Even our media is a laughing stock.
  18. The bears are on pace to walk out of the 2024 draft with Caleb Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr courtesy of Scott Fitterer. I’m not sure whether to laugh or cry. Feelsbadman
  19. And in the process miss one of the most talented QB drafts in recent memory. There’s so much talent coming out in 2024 it’s almost stupid. Imagine not trading DJ, sucking this year, and being in play for Caleb Williams. That’s what we fugged ourselves on.
  20. Don’t forget to add the Burns non-trade. It’s like we went all in for a full rebuild, but then said “nah” for a kings random for Burns. Now we can’t even figure out how to pay him because he thinks he’s worth Bosa money and he’s absolutely not. That’s going to be the one that leads to Fitt getting fired imo. You can’t overcome that. It’s a GM cardinal sin.
  21. Hey man, what are the stats on 3rd and 3? I’ll hang up and wait football gawd.
  22. Hahahahahah. “I have no point to make so you’re a casual.” Okay tom Brady, thanks for joining the board and the conversation. Enjoy the festivities!
  23. What a loser mentality this is. Dude is only in a third and long because he got sacked by a random flailing arm. Maybe don’t get sacked by someone who can’t even wrap you up because he’s getting blocked.
  24. IDK, probably would be nice if he could hit a single pass. Or not get sacked on a random flailing arm
  25. He didn’t look great today, but he’s a Rookie in his first ever NFL game. I think (as always in life) the truth lies somewhere in the middle between the homer bias of “he looked good today” and the pessimistic take of “he’s a bust after 1 game.” Personally, I had 3 main takeaways. 1) Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I think the first pick happened because of his height. He started getting swallowed by the OL and I’m not convinced he could see the exact situation he was throwing into. He had too many 6’6” trees a foot away. Bates baited him well. Rookies throw picks, though. It’s going to happen. 2) I’m more concerned about the 2 missed deep bombs. You just have to hit those. Period. Those are game breaking plays and honestly could’ve turned the tide so that the picks didn’t matter in the end. 3) Bryce needs time to gain chemistry with the receivers. There were a handful of times they just didn’t break when/how he expected them to. That’s not really as concerning to me because I think it’ll get cleaned up easily with more live game reps.
