  1. Like what I'm hearing. Working on crafting an offense around players, particularly Bryce, strengths sounds like something we have NEVER done in Carolina. Maybe year 1 with Chudzinski? Heard this a lot from his Bucs pressers too. Its about making an offense that is only as complicated as the team can execute and adding wrinkles from there. It should be easy for the QB to understand and communicate. Definitely see the McVay influences there. Personally I think Bryce is going to thrive.
  2. As someone not very versed in college ball are there any good early 2nd round DE prospects? IMO another area of big need along WR, OL.
  3. The last thing we need to a split in the locker room. If he doesn't want to be here you have to let him go.
  4. While I get that, I am speculating that they are going to want an RB who can catch out there on most downs. Seems like how Canales runs his offense. White had 70 catches for almost 600 yards while also rushing for almost 1K. That ability is going to be key to whoever our #1 RB is, who I don't think is on the roster. Chuba or Blackshear will be spelling the new RB1. At least that how it seems to me.
  5. He can make a talented offenses work. Won't elevate players. Run game much better then pass.
  6. Based on what Im seeing our new offense is going to rely on a lot if quick passes to the RB to fight pressure. We need one of those. Who is the the best most reasonable option this year? Kid from Oregon? NH? Give me some names to start looking into!
  7. We need to replace so many offensive weapons. Mingo living up to potential would really help us.
  8. Has there been any offical OL coach requests? This could be a big one, could we get back to power run to help these to their strengths?
  9. Another breakdown Just talking to myself here lol. At home with some sort of virus so wasting time on youtube bored. This is a basically shorter version of the Kurt Warner breakdown. Props to this guy for making this content if he's on here! It really seems to breakdown to this IMO : The system is built to help the QB make quick decisions and throws. There will be a lot of quick passes to a RB as a hot read. This is all the help negate pressure as seen by Bakers #s under pressure this season. Should be VERY good for Bryce. We will need weapons that can make things happen in space. Lacking that outside of Marsette-Smith who is an FA.
  10. His influences are interesting. Leadership from years with Pete Carroll. Learned offense from the McVay tree ( Waldron being the connection ). It's a good mix.
  11. I think Canales is going to put Young in the best position to produce. Young will then start to live up to potential. I don't think he's broken he just didn't have anything going for him from a coaching standpoint. Really hard for a rookie QB.
  12. They moved a few people around on the Bucs line this year to get the most out of the talent. I linked an intervirw in another post where Canales talked abouy it. Very promising to hear and I think they will work it out just as you laid out. Power run game playing to their strengths ( going back to 2022 season ) Christensen LT. Ekwonu LG.
  13. Was a real good ST coach, lets hope we can replace him. It was nice not having to worry when our ST unit came out.
  14. Canales discusses his offense a great interview that I hope makes people feel good about this guys mindset with offense and how to build it. This is what we always dreamed of. No more round peg square hole. Intresting bit starts at 2:45. I love the idea of making sure your system is molded for your QB and the willingness to move players on the oline to maximize potential.
  15. I think we add a mid tier FA WR at most. Calvin Ridley or like Josh Reynolds. Thielen is still producing and reliable. Mingo should be on the roster there is still potential there. Ihmir-Smith Marsette showed something, I hope that is a resign. Spend a draft pick in the lower rounds on someone with some potential. I think it is very important for us to get a RB that can catch the ball out of the back field and make things happen while also being able to be consistent in the run game. Money or draft capital WILL be spent there. Chuba will be our hammer I think. As unideal as it is, I think the WR doesn't get a major shake up this season.
  16. I'd like to change my vote from indifferent to like. Once I heard him speak and describe his mindset, his influences and how he creates an offense I hopped right on that bandwagon lol.
  17. There's been plenty of examples recently so Im willing to not hold that against him. It's going to he nice having someone who can craft an offensr around our players finally.
  18. They have a better roster but Im hype for Canales. I think we are going to have a good offense that isn't run off the back of one or two elite players.
  19. He's grown. He was a young hire that has had time to mature and has a lot of respect in the leauge and with his players. Just a gut feeling I have.
  20. Unfortunatly I think Morris is going to be good. Bummer, I really loved the Arthur Smith, Todd Bowels ans Dennis Allen hires. I think Bowels has reached his peak, I don't think he'll find an upgrade over canales.
  21. Still finishing it but I love what Im hearing! Confident, poised, detailed. Im getting hype about this! Canales intro
  22. He has produced at every stop. Im more concerned with good offense over flashy. Canales seems to be able to produce that. Playoff caliber offenses. Now can he create the right culture here and have buy in. Cannot have anothet softy like Rhule and Reich. This team needs an edge.
