  1. I think both brown and burns are better suited for a 3-4
  2. excellent point While many fans will say "well just tag and trade him", that's easier said than done as it rarely happens in the NFL. I think the Panthers made their bed, for better or worse, when they chose not to accept the Rams offer. You turn down that deal your basically playing your hand saying well now we have to re-sign this guy. Again I don't want to debate that again bc it's come and gone now Further the only team I could realistically see trading for Burns is either Jacksonville or Baltimore. We won't trade him to a division rival like Atlanta and I don't see any other NFC team besides maybe Detroit chasing him.
  3. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/tools/roster/carolina-panthers/2024/8027e022dcda29998e3468d08288a009/ I signed Tee for 25 mill, Burns for 25 mill, Frankie for 10 mill, resigned JJ Jansen and had to do other things to barely get us under the cap. Now obviously NFL teams can structure contracts better than this but whew we do not have as much cap space as I thought. Now the good news is our team is terrible and they may just go scorched earth and cut a ton of other people.
  4. Just spent like 20 minutes playing with the cap on spotrac and man...it's going to be very difficult to keep Burns, Luvu and sign a high profile name like Tee Higgins. Basically re-signing Burns and Higgins is going to cost in the neighborhood of 25 mill each. This probably deserves it's own post when I have more time to really delve into it
  5. Bryce finally looked like the prospect I watched coming out of bama yesterday. He was creative in the pocket, kept his eyes down field, and deadly accurate in high pressure situations.
  6. I realize GB's defense is not good, but Bryce made a couple *Elite* throws in this game. Notably multiple to DJ Chark
  7. I was at the stadium, surrounded by packers fans and let me tell you I was losing my mind.
  8. This game is exactly how I thought this year would go. We'd have our bumps, struggles, lose to good teams, but generally be a competitive team against most in the league. If we had played like this all year my original prediction of us finishing 7-10 doesn't seem so crazy
  9. acutally not as crazy as you think. Every year there are first rounders at the beginning of the year that fall. Further every draft only has like 15 true first round talents, everyone's list is a little different but then there's a vast swath of guys (picks 15-55) Personally I think both Coleman, Nabers and Odunze are all a clear cut better than him and Harrison is on his own planet. So in that second tier of player (15-55) you have egbuka, brian thomas jr mitchell, worth, franklin, corley, legette, and even ladd mcconkey amongst a LOT of other dudes I just haven't even watched yet. PLUS you have to factor in there's always a wildcard pick, like when the Rams took Tutu Atwell ahead of Marshall which no one saw coming. I'm just saying while it's not likely it's DEFINTELY not impossible. I may hell some people thought Star was going to be the first overall pick at this point in the calendar year
  10. Route ...and I can not stress this enough...running
  11. I thought zod had abandoned us in the time of our greatest need
  12. I will say this, this is the best we can hope for as fans. See my post history I've been as critical as Tepper as anyone (all of my recent posts have ended with fug tepper for example). But were stuck with him. Jed York fuged up his first few years as an owner in San Fran and now they are the best franchise in the league. We just have to pray tepper learns from his mistakes and learns to stay the f out of football operations
  13. Derrick Brown was the best player on the field lmao
  14. honestly was a smart signing at the time but yea not a great tenure as a panther
  15. Guarantee Ben Johnson will use Carolina has leverage to get paid more at another job that he was always going to take. He's not coming here yall
  16. 95 has played incredible this year. He single handedly gives me hope that Ickey can still pan out.
  17. agreed but I truly think the weather was affecting those balls. We've seen him throw deep this year without issue, in fact last week people were lamenting he overthrew mingo.
  18. Tomlin getting fired would be very reminiscent of Andy Reid getting fired in Philly. A great HC that's time has run out with an organization. I can not imagine a better culture builder than Tomlin. If we can hire a good OC to pair with him it would be a home run hire.
  19. I will give my prediction. The defense will hold the Packers to 7 points in the first half that they only manage to score after a sack fumble in which Ickey lets Rashaan gary blast bryce into Gastonia. We will dick around on offense and manage a single good drive in the first half that gets in the 10 yard line which will be set back by a false start, holding penalty and another sack. Pinero will hit a 45 yarder. The second half will continue with mind numbing penalties, sacks and generally no one getting open against a pretty bad GB defense. Finally, absolutely gassed and asking the audience to pass them a cigarette the defense will give up a bomb touchdown. Final score GB 21 - CAR 6
  20. should we? Absolutely Wil we? Not a chance, Tepper is obsessed with finding the next McVay or trading away all our draft capital for Belicheck
  21. This is a fair criticism but I really see that as his floor and this is coming from someone who really wanted CJ predraft. I think this year has been such a clusterfug in terms of personal, coaching and locker room culture that it's impossible to judge bryce rn
  22. Agreed. He went out and won us that game. Has this year been terrible? beyond my worst imagination. Is it way too early to judge Bryce and is there at least hope for the future? Of course. My biggest concern is not with Bryce moving forward it's that Tepper will not allow whoever he hires to just do their own job without him meddling.
  23. I hate Atlanta That being said it is mind boggling they saw Lamar Jackson available and literally tweeted from their own twitter account "nah were good". They wasted a pretty good defense and a year of young offensive weapons talent on Desmond fuging Ridder who threw one of the worst passes I've ever seen in an NFL game today and pretty much single handedly lost them that game
  24. good fug tepper anything to wake his ass up to the fact that this is entirely on him
