really unfortunate the timing didn't work out for us to draft him would have been a special story. I said it when I watched him in college. This is the best player I've ever watched live as a college player. UNC had some sorry teams and he carried them.
-
Panthers need to pay him like a proper WR#2 stat. People will balk at the contract initially but look at the FA market for WRs the last few years. Good ones just don't become available anymore.

Statistical reasons to Scratch Ickey from returning as a LT--Even in 2027

I see NCSU in your username. feel so bad for him. local kid, rooted for him so hard when we drafted him. finally came into his own and then just this devastating injury. sucks man -
Very intrigued how Morgan and Canales handle the offseason

1. Prepare for life without Ickey. Whether thats a high draft pick or solid FA. IF and big IF he comes back then you have a succession plan for Moton at RT. But as stated I would assume Ickey will never be our starting LT again 2. Sign Coker now. He's only going to get more expensive. Give him a decent #2 WR contract and call it a day 3. XL I would give this next season. Unless someone like Dallas blows you away with a ridiculous trade offer. XL showed promise his rookie year, I still have faith he can be a contributor to this team 4. Short term - LT and drafting a Center are musts IMO 5. LB would be awesome to get Sonny Styles in the draft but he likely goes long before then. We really need a good MLB, Devin Llyod from Jax may be available 6. I ride next year with Chuba, Etienne and Brooks - too many other needs to worry about RB right now -

I worry about him as a guy that already struggled with speed rushers. I think his future is at LG I hope I am so wrong and he comes back better than ever at LT -
I bumped the old thread previously, some of our resident negative nancies were saying that trade would amount to nothing

I'm just so glad I stand on the right side of history on this trade.

The problem was .....we also had Matt Rhule at the time

REPORT: Cade Mays will hit the free-agent market
SOJA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
weirdly I agree with both of you. Which is why I wouldn't mind a center being drafted early this year. Seems like it fills both needs -
@MHS831I liked your thinking historically: ILB, S and TE are positions not heavily emphasized in the draft. If you could sign starters at each of those positions it would leave round one open to BPA which would hopefully be an edge, OT or to contradict myself ILB too

It's inarguable that CJ Stroud has a higher ceiling than Bryce. We've seen it his rookie year where he played like a top 7 QB in this league Stroud has also shown that his floor is just as low just about anyone out there. It would never, ever happen but I would still trade Bryce for him straight up if offered. you can win a Superbowl with rookie CJ stroud. I'm not sure Bryce will ever be that good unless we have the 2000s ravens team around him
-
The real problem is XL is where we drafted him. If we had taken him mid second round I think the outrage surrounding him would be far less. Not his fault they traded up (one spot) to make him a first round pick
-
I wouldn't do this. XL had a bad year but he showed a lot of promise as a rookie for a guy we KNEW was going to take some time to develop You can hate the pick if you want but now that we've got XL I would give him one more season to see if he can round into a contributor. Coleman has always struck me as a guy that was not going to put the work in to be great. might be wrong but that's my gut read on him.
-
The issue and always will be that the Panthers have not drafted well for a long time until this past draft. Everything looks better when you have young replacement talent coming in
-
this is a great hire by the Falcons. He succeeded in cleveland yall
-
the guy from georgia also intrigues me but I admittedly haven't looked into him very much
-
my top pick would honestly be luke but he probably doesn't want to coach raheem morris would be a good choice but let's be honest we all know if evero leaves they're going to promote todd wash

exactly my thoughts to a t

exactly, people are being way too casual about this injury. but this is also the board that thought he could play the day after having an appendectomy
-
on the athletic football podcast they said this injury has a 50% RETIREMENT rate in other words we are probably screwed. I don't know if he ever plays tackle again. Maybe he kicks inside to guard in 2027 Either way this severely fugs us because I really wanted to take either LB or EDGE in round 1 of the draft but now we almost have to take a tackle if one is there

Mike Kaye’s take: 2026 NFL free agency predictions
SOJA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Coker is an absolute must resign; highest priority imo with Ickey's injury I put Yosh just below that Mays is tricky, I want to keep him but someone might pay him considerably Brady is a player I would be loath to lose too Jansen should be here until he retires everyone else on there I am either ambivalent or want them off my starting lineup (cough Rozeboom cough)- 91 replies

I'll be there as well

wife is going to be absolutely thrilled when she discovers the forecast. Normally I would say this favors us but the Rams are so good at running the football that it doesn't really. who knows maybe it leads to some wonky turnovers
-
this made me laugh out loud , good job

It is truly wild seeing the Huddle's take on Bryce young vs. a huge chunk of Panthers twitter. I need for there to be a cross over episode where yall go to war.
