  1. I've given credit to Sam for his ability as a scrambler in and out of the pocket. He has ideal size to do this from time to time but he does not have the durability to do that on a regular basis I've gone over that with you before. And truth be told the reason he was running the ball against ATL and got injured was because our offensive staff was afraid of him throwing the ball. Or have you already forgotten that? We are still doing the same even now with McAdoo.
  2. Yeah that's one odd thing about the Panthers there was a portion of the fanbase who put a running back over a lot of other players and the good of the team. It's not really a dynamic that can be explained and I can't say I’ve ever seen another fanbase have fans who were so infatuated with an RB. All I can guess is they had their own selfish motives. But the trade worked out for both parties so that's all that matters.
  3. He was talking about Christian McCaffrey who plays for the 49ers now. Some folks still haven't moved on.
  4. Even in the Lions game Goff looked like the better passer overall. Sam threw 22 passes and accounted for 7 points through the air. Here's a harsh fact for these Darnold truthers. With a better QB we very well could have dropped a 50 burger on Detroit.
  5. He's gone move on. It's a passing league you are not going to get 300 rushing yards out of your backfield on a consistent basis. Your starting QB is going to have to go out there and win with his arm more often than not to close games.
  6. Just a heads up. You and another Sam Darnold fan are the only ones in this thread to have used the word trash in reference to him. I've been clear in my thoughts summarizing his current status and abilities. He can start some games for you and look okay to good or pretty good in spots but it does not last and you do not want to have to depend on him to win the game. That showed quite clearly against the Steelers and the Bucs. We lost to Mitch Trubisky and a 45 year old Tom Brady in two games where we needed those wins for a playoff push. Was all of it Sam's fault? No. Did he make some plays to help? Yes. Did he make enough plays? No. Did he contribute turnovers that hurt our chances? Yes. Can we do better at the position in the offseason? Yes. For all the positives his fans will list as reasons why he should get a chance to be the starter next year the one you guys don't want to cover is he cannot win games when the chips are down or when he hasn't had a lead all game thanks to an historic run game. He has not had a game winning drive in over 3 years now. Now if you want to immerse yourself in a fantasy where Darnold is a starting QB moving forward that is your right. But as I've said the proof is in the pudding.
  7. It's called standards dude. Even the only MVP in Panthers franchise history got called out for losing and still to this day can't live down losing a Super Bowl. Just because others do not share in your delusions does not make them haters. Go start a Sam Darnold superfan community if you hate it here so bad
  8. Then let's raise the bar and keep looking for our next QB.
  9. Jake wasn't even that special or very good and there still isn't a comparison to be had between him and Darnold. I'm just keeping it real.
  10. He threw for 29 touchdowns in 2004 without Smitty. You're grasping.
  11. Darnold wishes he was Delhomme-esque. He hasn't had a game winning drive since December 2019.
  12. Just give him a five year contract and let him compete because he's such a nice guy and he tries so hard. This is a family affair. Do any of ya'll that don't keep Sam Darnold's codpiece on your nightstand remember just four years ago when turning the ball over and losing football games was a deal breaker for this fanbase?
  13. LaMelo looks pretty damn good tonight 5 threes already. Let the haters rot.
  14. I like Sam but I've seen all I need to and we've already done the Teddy Bridgewater experiment before him. Wish him well and good luck with his next opportunity and keep looking. Let the folks who are in love with the bar being mediocre follow him to his next destination
  15. I don't think he's coming back to the NFL but if he does he wants full control that's probably why the Vikings balked last year.
  16. Okay the AFCS is neck and neck lol. I'm kinda iffy on the OC turned head coach now after other failures but I still think we need to turn over every stone looking in that direction. I honestly lean going with a candidate with head coaching experience built in and I would not doubt if that's the route Tepper goes this time after being burned so badly with a college hire. We'll see. At this point I'll take take any QB's not named Darnold or Walker. Just begin anew.
  17. I hear ya'll. But if we hadn't once again won those games that ultimately didn't matter we wouldn't need to try and trade up anyway. We ended up getting slapped down by 45 year old Brady in probably the worst division in the league when we could have had a top 3 pick minimum. Same old Panthers.
  18. That's why my biggest concern is what they do with QB. While you guys are still mad about this I'm hoping nobody who makes decisions for this team shares even a slight agreement with some of the loonies here that think Sam Darnold is serviceable now. I want the whole QB room replaced and this team needs to get back to the days of emphasizing the TE position more.
  19. Sounds great for anyone seeking a new HC but I would be shocked if they actually did it.
  20. I think you stbugs and the Steelers fan have gone daffy honestly. But keep thinking you're right
  21. When you guys say stuff like this that's when folks look at you funny. You don't pay running backs big money it is a devalued position. You simply cannot compare the value of a pass rusher to that of a running back now.
  22. Trading Burns is a rebuild move and you are not going to get Reddick or any other premium FA pass rusher to commit unless you overpay. For many free agents playing for a contender is also a part of their decision making process. Yeah you still have guys who will take a payday on a bottom dweller but pass rushers have more choices given the need around the league. They aren't going to be in a hurry to hitch their wagon to the rebuilding Panthers. You keep saying pick 37 like that's such a big bargaining chip. If you want to move up for a QB firsts are all that matters. But if you're the general manager of a team needing a young promising QB on a rookie contract are you going to pass up staying put and taking the quarterback you're targeting for the 37th pick or a 1st two years from now knowing your job is on the line right now? Scott Fitterer is not the only NFL GM without the benefit of time to waste. Everyone wants to win now.
