  1. Nobody has been trying to compare Sam to elite quarterbacks these are responses to the original post that mentioned Mahomes. Rn I don't see any valid comparisons other than previous draft busts bc as much as some folks here want Sam to be a literal rookie he is not. He is now in his fourth year throwing the same bad picks he always has. Joe Brady isn't doing him favors though and I think we have to look at a different option after the season no matter what happens with Sam. I'm pretty much over the college offense crap we need some real NFL experience in here.
  2. You are correct he could not but they still got to the biggest game in football on the biggest stage and we just lost to a one win team. Sam was running for his life but there were still plays to be made the Eagles were not a good football team we let them hang around for 3 full quarters they put the win up on a platter for us. Right now there are two hurdles to overcome oline and bad Sam Darnold. Either or both will be our downfall if Sam can't stop turning the ball over.
  3. Situational awareness seems to be lacking big time in our playcalls and that is a carry over from last year despite the qb change. I don't think this is going to get any better this season it's a Joe Brady issue.
  4. Look man I get you're trying to rally the troops so to speak but this is malarkey and you know it. Mahomes has intangibles our qb is distinctly lacking rn like timing rhythm and the ability to connect deep with his receivers. Even when Sam has time he is misfiring we have no deep passing game to speak of and that is also a reason why defenses are teeing off on him. Yes we all agree about the oline I've been banging the table over it for weeks despite homers here trying to explain to us why it is actually good. But the line is not the only thing that separates us from a quality offense Sam Darnold has got to play much better and get on the same page we have given him weapons.
  5. He's a fourth year pro not a first year rookie this is who he has been the concern is valid.
  6. People are biased against embarrassing losses put away the violin and raise the bar.
  7. Mahomes is a phenom at the position a Super Bowl champion and a former MVP. Sam is a third overall bust who just had another career worst performance. Yes the oline is a major problem but we do not have an Andy Reid who will walk through the door and solve our offense either.
  8. Nobody should even have to say this it is nonsense and fugery. You play to win the game and he directly contributed to our loss if there is anything anyone hates it is getting spanked in our own stadium and then watching the opposing quarterback taunt us knowing we handed them the game.
  9. Well this only further lends credence to what our last qb said about our practice drills. Either way not a good reflection on Rhule either the buck stops with him.
  10. Agreed about next week. But even Teddy Two Yards never threw three picks in one game for us. That was the only bar Sam was expected not to fall below. He failed.
  11. If Sam can't settle in who knows. Today he was basically Kyle Allen. There's no polite way to put it. After your smug posts for days I would think you would pull back some on the condescension but I remember just yesterday you were gearing up to dredge up old posts of anyone who questioned him so you could serve up crow. Took less than 24 hours for that to blow up in your face. Keep doing your thing though.
  12. If our offense looks as putrid as it did today the rest of the way I would say we will be lucky to win two or three more games. But as the poster after you remarked this is the worst our oline has been in years and idk if the line was ever this bad under Hurney or even Gettleman I think maybe the Byron Bell days come close. But again it did not have to be this way entirely. Our decision makers put us on this collision course.
  13. This from someone who has spent years bickering about the failures of the Panthers but bc the name Hurney is gone losing badly is no biggie lol ok.
  14. Ok he owned it great. Now go play better and stop turning the damn ball over.
  15. Throwing a game sealing pick to a one win team at home is about as low as it gets.
  16. That is entirely up in the air at this moment. Darnold's performance today effectively resets any progress made to this point we have absolutely no idea who the real Sam Darnold is though history has precedent and it isn't a rosy picture.
  17. Well the way we played at home today and waved the white flag on fourth down isn't going to improve attendance that's for sure.
  18. Indeed but he also traded a second round pick for the quarterback who effectively sealed our loss today. It's safe to say there should be some hard lessons learned all around for players and staff today.
  19. Another week another Darnold jinx thread.
  20. We lost to a 1 win team at home. Welcome to what a terrible loss looks like this isn't an echo chamber where we all just sit around singing kumbaya and happy we have an nfl franchise. People are tired of the team being a joke especially in our house.
  21. Rhule isn't done by any means but man when you are at home you cannot tuck tail like that in your house. You either get the fourth down conversion or you don't but you definitely don't revert to the a punt isn't a bad play john fox mentality. That's the stuff of nightmares for Panthers fans right there. Where the team goes from here will tell us everything we need to know about the Rhule and Fitterer era.
  22. I don't think this is the end for Sam but Joe Brady has to be smarter with his qb when he knows the middle of the oline is putrid. Chuba stepped up today. Our qb and the receivers seemed out of sync and sadly by the fourth quarter Darnold just didn't look comfortable or confident and thus the final nail in the coffin as it were. I think the days of celebrating us stacking our defense with corners or whatever are over for the time being we need help on offense badly or this season is effectively toast and that is on our head coach and our gm.
  23. The quarterback always takes the blame especially when he has multiple turnovers. #1 is gone and he isn't ever coming back same with Luke and anyone else from that era. Join us in the year 2021 sir
  24. Considering the sieve that is the middle BC may as well be one of our best linemen already.
  25. As far as resources given to that side of the ball I concur with you 100% sir. This is why I was hesitant to be heavily jubilant about trading for two corners within 10 days. The oline is just an abyss of misery and failure. Fitterer and Rhule are responsible for it.
