That part is at around 15:30. He basically said the vets on the team had to adjust to Rhule's new imprint on the team it has a college feel to it he didn't go into detailed specifics on various aspects of that. But this shouldn't really surprise anyone even the terminology we heard from staff and others last year when they spoke involved words like program sprinkled in. I don't think it's an issue but they should definitely make a concerted effort to change gears in '21 because the lack of leadership in such a young roster showed in some of those close games we lost.

It's not exactly a great way to kick off your podcast episode sounding like the oh ho ho it's funny because it's true character from family guy. Any doorknob with a wifi connection has a podcast now.

I'm not asking for much. Just get us a real center ffs. Someone better than what we've had. If it's an upgrade I'll take it. Four fuging wheels and a seat!

CMC fanboys are the new Cam stans. My guy you can sit around lusting over your boys individual accolades but that poo ain't getting us out of the basement no matter how many touches we give him. The best offenses in the league have a dynamic duo of qb and receiver. Sam and DJ (hell Robby too) need to form a solid bond and I think bright things could be ahead despite how much folks like yourself want to make it about one player instead of the team.

5 million a year may not buy you a season long left tackle but it isn't chump change either. We are just throwing darts but he has to stay somewhat healthy for any of this discussion to matter. I don't have a pff sub so I can't see details but he had a grade of 58 last year so that's not great and not terrible. I mean I don't know what the standard is you're looking for here. Our undisputed worst free agent signing in history Matt Kalil had a grade of 62.4 in 2017. Is that playing well? Maybe I'm being too hard on the guy but I just don't want to see Sam running for his life or on his ass.

Not trying to single you out in this but speaking in general it is tiring how folks will dump on one player and prop up others. Even if DJ Moore isn't elite he is quite good. Just because the Panthers have given #22 the most touches in the whole damn league so he could get his 1k/1k season doesn't mean Moore isn't being held back by poor passing. If we can actually get the ball to him who knows what his ceiling is.

That is an impressive plus I hope he can replicate. But you may want to dig a little deeper into that. Specifically sample size. Erving only had 279 snaps. Even Martin whom you chose to compare had double that with 618. In 2019 when he had 589 snaps more comparable with Martin he allowed 5 sacks and had 7 penalties. If he is going to live up to his contract he will be seeing significantly more snaps. I'm all for hoping he will improve but we don't need to cook the books here to convince ourselves. The data is there and some of it is good some of it not so good. That's the kind of ol signing Carolina has been known for let's see if it works out.

You said he performed well last year I refuted it with fact based information.

Carolina Panthers: 5 big riddles Matt Rhule must solve at 2021 camp
frankw replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
You just can't talk to some of these folks. Look 22 is a supremely talented athlete but at the end of the day he is still an rb. He can't throw to himself and he can't block for himself. He is a great decoy but Carolina has tried and failed multiple times to make him our very own swiss army knife. Where has it gotten us? 10 wins in two years and perpetually stuck in the bottom of the division. A big part of that has been starting multiple quarterbacks but through it all we have not been particularly good in the redzone at converting touchdowns which should still be a plus if we have one of the top running backs. Last year we were at 50% and in 2019 in CMC's banner year we were at 58% which sits us at 28th and 15th in the league. If we are to have a top back in the nfl we should be scoring touchdowns simple and plain. Guess who has been atop the redzone percentage since 2019? Tennessee. Why? Well it helps to have an offensive line and not settling for scrapheap as starters while you spend a boatload on the backfield. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/red-zone-scoring-pct?date=2021-02-08 -
I hope he works out for us but let's at least be accurate about that tidbit. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2021/03/17/panthers-pat-elflein-cameron-erving-pff-grades/amp/

REPORT: No movement in Panthers’ talks w/ Taylor Moton

Well Moton just got 43 million guaranteed -
Good news. Would like some confirmation on if he is staying on the right side. This contract puts him right in line with the fifth highest left tackle contract.

Well you have your opinion I have mine. I feel like you are only seeing it from one perspective and that is of the front office. That's fine but that just isn't the way the world works in a business setting where you have to build relationships. Beyond that I just want an adequate oline to protect our quarterback so we can get back to winning. As far as I know we all want the same result we just differ on the path somewhat. -

Three tags just isn't happening. To even get to 2 tags will likely result in a soured relationship. The Panthers aren't foolish enough to do so through direct official channels or any of their social media pages. This is done via anonymous sources. Such as the indirect talk of the Panthers not feeling he is a comparable player to Ramczyk with the Saints. That's fine they feel that way but Carolina still has a serious need. And if they did not feel he is comparable to elite talent they should have foreseen this moment months ago and planned accordingly instead of waiting until the last minute to suddenly question his worth. It seems amateurish. -

Even two is a stretch. He would have to have an agent advising him worse than whoever was representing Josh Norman in 2016. If Carolina can't get him to play left and they are keen on publicly questioning his value in comparison to his peers they are only hurting themselves in this process. -
If the team values Darnold then they will value the protection in front of him as well. Random Panthers employees are welcome to feel how they like but it is the Panthers with the need for Moton's services and thin quality tackle depth.

You know it's a bunch of joe schmoe fans talking when they actually think this man is going to want to sign three separate tags. The best interest for TM is a long term deal especially for a lineman where there are so many potential variables out there on the field involving their legs in any given play through hundreds of football snaps. -

You had it right the first time with just blowing off steam that's all this place is where lines get blurred is when differing opinions become overly personal. This year is no different than years past there has always been much talk about the oline and when the same concerns loom large that will dominate the dialogue. If BC is now being talked about as the left tackle that is news to me. Last I heard they were talking about possibly guard. The whole reason for drafting him and the rejoice was for his abilities as a tackle. I have little faith in a castoff from multiple teams with injury concerns holding down the left spot. -

Folks were homers about things during the Hurney and Gettleman days too quelling dissention and criticism is nothing new. But if things don't go our way as expected the same people will be crying foul in the fall and act like they never saw it coming -
What will a week 1 loss to the Jets do to Darnold?
frankw replied to CanadianCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well they don't have much else to hang their hats on so I can't much blame them. For Carolina stepping out of the basement means beating up on bad teams like they should. I expect our defense to give Zach Wilson a very unpleasant welcome to the nfl. -

He should be well used to criticism by now. If he can't handle the heat we have bigger problems. Losing to the Jets would not be the end of the world. But after weeks of fans and media trashing that organization as incompetent and incapable it would be embarrassing for Carolina. The season opener is a must win and a much needed morale boost.
