Man whether it's the Panthers or the Hornets it's crazy how many foolish talking heads there are in the local media. I just unsubscribed from locked on Hornets. Doug Branson with his cheesy mustache is an absolute clown especially when his partner isn't on. Talking about trading LaMelo because he can't win basketball games by himself with no semblance whatsoever of a legitimate Center. These YouTube personalities will say anything for a damn click.

The Bucs are a tough matchup. Since this will be our first meeting with them this season it's best to compare most recent results with expectations. They trounced the Giants 30-7 last Sunday. They put up 451 yards of offense including 157 rushing yards on the Giants who are currently ranked 19th in total defense. For comparison sake we are currently 30 out of 32. If we can only muster one passing touchdown in this one we will likely be blown out. All circumstances aside we've got to get in the end zone. This being a home game should help I hope.

Chris Long: Bryce Young Went Toe To Toe With Patrick Mahomes
frankw replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is nonsense and you know it. People will be happy when we are consistently and convincingly winning games against good teams. There are people in here talking down to others after losses and barely beating the terrible NY Giants. If you want to strut around here like only you are a real Panthers fan and rage pooing posts because your jimmies are rustled then hey good luck with all that. I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving. -

Teddy Bridgewater is trash. If that's Bryce's ceiling you draft a QB in round 1 and let them duke it out in camp. -

One game out of 23 isn't a limited sample size. It isn't a sample size at all. We are right back where we started after the Packers loss last season. No more no less. He's starting and we have no say in it regardless. There is nothing unreasonable about wanting to see at least a few more games of this consistently before making any sort of determination. -

If arm strength was overrated Cam Newton would still be a Carolina Panther right now. -

I think you need to take some time off my guy. I usually like your posts even if I disagree with you but you are going too far coping at the moment. And it's very rich you have the nerve to accuse others of being the troll in this conversation. Bucs Eagles Cowboys Cardinals. Can we just get through those upcoming games and then reassess how Bryce is doing? -

Lamar Jackson leads the league in passing yards. He's 7th in YPG. Bryce Young is 40th In YPG. His career average through 24 games is 165 YPG. But one loss against the Chiefs and it's time to compare him to Lamar Jackson. This place is exhausting. -
Awful awful choke job at the end there. Cody Martin can eat poo.

The Panthers have had two long term starting QB's in the span of 30 years. Bryce Young looks halfway decent in a loss to the Chiefs and suddenly we're having to defend Jake Delhomme. There's "glass half full" and then there's "alright that's enough edibles for you". -
Well I'm glad to see Salaun is out there getting some buckets with Brandon and LaMelo. With a legit center this game is much closer.

I'm gonna respectfully say that is debatable..... Besides. Does Jake Delhomme not still hold the record for the longest pass/reception in Super Bowl history? Let's not throw dirt on Jake's name to prop up Bryce Young. All this coming off a loss too. How about we not drive ourselves off a cliff high on hopium before we see this team against the Bucs and the Eagles. One week at a time. -
I wish all of this wasn't after a loss. Hopefully good things are around the corner but we've already done this once in this same season. After the convincing win over the Raiders the locker room was on cloud nine and the fluff couldn't get from the team to the fanbase fast enough. With that in mind. I'll just take this one game at a time. Now let's beat the Bucs.

I thought Berman was retired. Good to hear he's still around.

We need to get better in the redzone. And yes that is an issue that involves all the moving parts. Oline receivers QB and playcalling. But Bryce himself has to lead the charge on that or surely we could face another blowout in one of these upcoming games. Every team no matter how good they are is going to face an opponent that imposes their will on them and requires the same in response. Those are the games where we have got to capitalize on drives. Honestly I get the sense that the Chiefs on some level overlooked us. So while I am pleased we were as competitive as we were it certainly remains to be seen if this was the beginning for something new or just an anomaly. I think that's a perfectly fair take at this juncture.

Only on the huddle is asking for 2 passing touchdowns from your first overall pick akin to expecting him to perform like one of the two best QB's in the league. Is there even a bar anymore? Comical.
-
So you're saying Bryce Young isn't getting the same benefit of the doubt as Patrick Mahomes?
-
Oh no what an insurmountable expectation. Right? lol It literally only requires him to throw 2 passing touchdowns and then a couple more scoring drives letting Chuba Hubbard do the extra leg work. We went to overtime against the NY Giants with one passing touchdown. That same team just got absolutely whooped by the Bucs. The Bucs aren't even that good either. It's fine to have expecations guys.

When Bryce Young leads this offense to multiple 30+ point outings primarily through the passing game I will begin to become a believer. Until then everything remains in perspective.
-
If you seriously think Stroud looks like Bryce did as a rookie then congratulations you have the same bias as those you constantly accuse others of. Stroud is 4th in passing yards despite all the circumstances he's faced this season. Here we rejoice like it's Christmas morning when Bryce manages to cross 250 yards passing in a single game.
-
Stroud has 37 passing touchdowns in 27 games compared to Young with 16 touchdowns in 24 games. You play the game to score points. It's comical that some people in sports media cannot compliment Bryce Young for showing improvement that crosses the bare minimum threshold without trying to tear down Stroud just as they did to him before the draft.
-
I like him on a personal level and I know he's very raw but when someone like Knecht is contributing on a meaningful level right away it is infuriating watching this team slog their way to 60 points at home. This was a comically low scoring game until the fourth quarter and that's with LaMelo dropping 44 points after dropping 50 within the last week. So far I am not much impressed with the new front office. And enough with this Mark Williams foolishness. Get that man on the court or put him on the block.
-
I'm done hearing complaints about LaMelo until these fools start putting anyone around him and Miller worth a poo. 30 mins from our rook and only one damn point? Not good.

Forget about Bryce, Dave Canales is who we should be talking about.

Bryce Young in 24 career games: 16 touchdowns Kyle Allen in 13 games in 2019: 17 touchdowns Safe to say there's still questions about his passing ability for many people. Unless you're a self described "Stan" on twitter. -

Yeah at one point last season we took our first overall pick off the field in favor of an aging Andy Dalton to have him throw a hail mary. If you weren't a Panthers fan you would laugh. Obviously Bryce looked better in many phases but there are still situations where his arm limits what the offense can do. It should not be controversial to acknowledge that reality that we've all seen with our own two eyes. That's why many people myself included want to see new additions to the QB room in 2025 regardless of what transpires the rest of the season.
