I get the sentiment in here. I wanted to clean house including the draft scouting staff last year. But the issue becomes this is already an undesirable destination. By all accounts through our hiring process for GM and head coach which eventually had people here asking why it was taking so long it was because no one else wanted the job. Let's put aside the homer glasses for a few moments and readily acknowledge that. The only way that can change IMO is if Tepper exits the picture. Since that isn't happening there's really no major light at the end of tunnel. Still. Much of this depends on how the rest of the season goes. I'm ready to see how ugly this gets. If it burns it burns. Get the smores. On the other hand maybe something finally clicks. It's going to be one or the other that's the only way this franchise can operate. But if Morgan and Canales are fired and you guys are tired of yes men you better get ready for most likely someone even worse because that kind of candidate will be the only one willing to even entertain the thought of or consider the position. That's the reputation and it certainly won't be improved by seeking your 4th head coaching hire in 4 years. Just speaking facts

Best and worst PFF grades from Panthers' Week 5 loss to Bears
frankw replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
But we've already seen this. That was the justification for giving him a free pass in the first half of his rookie season. Those losses that were over by the 4th quarter he put together a few decent drives when the opposing D was playing prevent. We obviously know how the rest of that storyline played out. It is completely understandable that anyone would be highly skeptical of more of that now. -
I'm not ready to give up on XL by a longshot. But the Center position.... With what we invested in the oline in free agency it sure would have been nice to have a great young Center on a rookie contract for whomever the QB is next season. With running backs most teams are saving those selections for the mid rounds. Hell we missed out on another olineman a few years back to draft a long snapper. Morgan drafts like Fitterer as of right now. He better hope Brooks is one of the best backs in the league by the end of next season.

Wow. Sounds to me like more than anything there was a major rift between him and Rodgers and Aaron got him ousted. Maybe he deserved it maybe he didn't. But one thing I can say for sure. Rodgers is an asshole. If they had a big falling out it sounds like they were too much alike. Both arrogant and unwilling to give an inch. That was never a match to begin with.

For myself I personally do not care about his personal life his religious background his wife or how he cheated on her and drank. If he can coach this franchise and lead us into relevancy the next decade that's all that matters. If he can't. Then by all means eviscerate him. But let's at least let the season play out first and go forward from there.

I'm glad he's playing better. Almost everyone here likes Icky and wants to see him do well. Now we just need to see how he finishes the season. We have so many needs it would be fantastic if everything is finally starting to click for our left tackle.

So far I like what Lee is doing. Hopefully this Hornets team will at least give us some fun basketball to watch even if they don't win much for the time being.

The life of a Carolina Panthers fan summed up.

We sold the defense in a last ditch effort so we could throw a ton of money to try and salvage the worst starting QB in the league. Within two games it was a wrap. I'm done hearing fluff from the GM the coach the players whoever. Bring that poo around here you're going to get nothing but mocked. And to think within the last week some of these players told fans to take the bags off their heads. They really showed up big for the fans. Trash!

I am years removed from getting "mad" about the happenings within this franchise. Disappointment and utter embarrassment are the norm. That will only continue under David Tepper and his wife.

It's absolutely his fault he can't operate within an NFL pocket has awful footwork and throws on his tippy toes. All of the predraft hype around him was nothing more than smoke and mirrors. With Dalton we still suck we just suck a little less. He at least more often than not is capable of attempting all the throws that open up the field. Today was a letdown across the board. Back to the drawing board with our staff. Have to wait and see how they finish the season. If the team is still looking like this by the end of the year Canales will rightfully get plenty of deserved criticism sent his way. A lot can happen in a few months we'll see.

Steve has great insight on many things overall but as far as evaluating goes anyone can get it wrong and he is no different. His takes should not be disregarded but also not placed on a pedestal either. As far as being a mouthpiece for Tepper idk if I would go that far but he has carried some water to a degree all homerism aside I think anyone who has watched this unfold the last few years should be able to readily acknowledge that. It's best not to put too much stock in these things going forward. Especially the fluff pieces that involve former players talking up this guy or that guy. Show it on the field. Until then. Meh.

If "see it wasn't Bryce Young's fault" is all someone takes from today they are beyond help and just pushing an agenda. And regardless of the QB situation we are on our third coaching staff in three years already. If you want to keep being the doormat to the entire league then keep firing coaches every year and see where that gets you.

There was never any honeymoon only a brief period of release of knowing that we could actually at least halfway compete with a QB willing to make all the throws more often than not. Andy Dalton seemed like the smoking hot girl at the bar by proximity due to how bad the other QB was. What we are seeing now is on the coaching staff. Canales and his staff have to show they can consistently compete in this league circumstances aside. Every team deals with injuries every team loses talent and every team has to pick up the pieces somehow some way. We need to see the staff do that now the rest of the way through the season. Nobody wants to hear about this or that anymore. Just give people some semblance of hope more often than not. Today was not that.

Unfortunately we're the new Browns.

There were a number of mitigating circumstances you have to acknowledge. At the same time. This was a matchup that our team should have been circling as a game to show up big in even if we didn't win. To say the least the Bears and the Panthers are connected for all the wrong reasons and this was a game we really needed to look at least competent in as a sign of goodwill to the fanbase. Today was a really bad look for Canales and Co no matter how you might want to rationalize it. No excuses.

The incredibly low bar of Bryce Young (basically worst ever) has clouded us about Dalton. He's who he's always been. Great guy great teammate. But he's at the tail end of his career and was available to us for a reason. -
